Third Person POV

It was already sometime past four by the time he got to his room and quickly, he bolted the door and collapsed on his bed.

Nightmares was what woke him up later during the night…

Bloody nightmares filled with pain and fear, filled with betrayals and hatred.

He rubbed a hand over his face before standing up and checking the clock hanging on the walls of bedroom.

It was approximately 8am.

Ohh, that was much faster than he had expected.

But good, better to do it in the daytime than to hide in the night.

He wanted them to see the villain they had tagged him as in his previous life so there was no need hiding whatever it is that he wanted to do.

Standing up, he quickly washed up and dressed impeccably before a knock came on his door.

“Young master.

Master asked me to come get you for breakfast!”

“I’m coming.” He simply said, not even bothering to raise his voice as he checked himself in the mirror once again and smirked at his all black ensemble before winking at himself and turning to leave.

[Gossip System is now online.]

When he arrived at the dining hall, his whole family was already seated around the table and only the third seat left for the sons was open for him.

One of his older brothers was out and the other one simply gave him an annoyed look before turning away like he didn’t have the time for him.

He didn’t say anything, skipping the greetings and directly plopping his ass down on his seat before picking up a fork and bringing a slice of toast to his mouth.

“You little—how dare you not show any respect for your elders?” His father’s voice reached his ears and he didn’t even bother raising his head up as he reached across the table and grabbed the platter of fish from before his younger twin suster, Dalphine and continued eating like he hadn’t heard anything.

“Calm down, Count.

He’s just being a teenager.

Don’t hold it against him,” his mother tried to placate him and father sent her a withering look but he still pretended not to hear anything.

His mother was the worst amongst them anyway.

She was like a red snake that could change colors at will.

[New Gossip Discovered.]

Ohh, come on.

Tell me.

[Jared is secretly stealing the Count’s money to give to his white moonlight from the bakery shop.]

What?

Jared is stealing his fathers money just to give it all to a woman?

[Not only that, the woman is even forty years old and says she’s pregnant for him but she’s not!]

Say what now?

“Jared, is this true?” Father asked, uncharacteristically calm as he turned to his second son and Jared turned pale with fear and shock at being discovered.

“You’re lying, Rain told me that she’s pregnant for me!” He seemed to realize what he had just said and slapped a hand over his mouth with a look of pure horror.

What’s wrong with this one?

But he couldn’t deny that this gossip was really…juicy.

Cassian grinned as he stuffed his mouth full with sandwich and fish and watched as his father stood up and grabbed Jared by the ear before pulling him up to his feet amidst screams.

As that happened, Cassian looked around the room and wondered who else was hiding something that he didn’t know about.

“Father!

That hurts!!” Jared cried out, his face full of pain and Cassian forced himself to hold back his laughter as he drank a mouthful of water.

But seriously, what’s going on here and why’s father looking so angry?

“You bastard!

How can I have a son like you?!!

” Father raised a hand up and delivered a powerful slap to Jared’s face and Cassian slowly dusted his hands and stood up.

“And where are you going?” Mother called out to him, her face full of hatred and Cassian turned to stare at her without any particular emotion on his face.

Then he scowled and asked.

“Should that be any of your business?”

His mother’s face twisted into an ugly look as she took one look at her beloved son who was being beaten by his father and decided that he wasn’t worth it.

As she rushed to meet his father, Cassian scoffed and quickly left the dining room behind.

When he got to the gates, he stopped there and turned to a servant.

“Go get me a carriage and make sure it’s one of our finest!” The servant nodded and quickly ran off to go do what he asked him to.

Oh today was going to be good.

As he waited for the carriage to arrive, he took a look around the place and stopped in front of a sunflower and a thought came to his mind.

It was sunny and rainy that day he was executed…how ironic.

The sound of hooves filled his ears and he took his time to turn around just as a carriage stopped in front of him and he quickly entered.

As he took a seat, he raised his head up and came face to face with the last person he expected to sneak into his carriage.

“What are you doing here, Dalphine?” He asks the girl in front of him and she stared at him for a very long time without answering.

“If you’re now deaf and dumb, then I’ll have you thrown out of this carriage without blinking an eye.” Maybe his threat got to her because she quickly cleared her throat and asked.

“Where are you going this early?”

“None of your business,” he said and then proceeded to turn around and call out to the footman.

“To the bakery shop!”

Dalphine’s eyes twitched but thankfully, she didn’t mention anything about that before she asked again.

“What are you going to do in the bakery shop?”

“Like I said, none of your business.

Now, stop asking before I throw you out.”he grunted while leaning back into the carriage and closing his eyes to signal a closure to the conversation.

In his past life, Dalphine hadn’t even shown her face during his execution and that was after he thought that since they were twins, she would be amongst the people who still believed him.

That didn’t turn out as he expected, of course.

“Young master, we’re at the bakery!” The footman called out and his eyes slowly snapped open and he didn’t even spare Dalphine a glance as he left the carriage and stepped out into the stone floor of the roads.

He observed the people going in and out of the bakery and the others going about their day and trying but failing to look busy and not show that they were all staring curiously at him.

Then he grinned and slowly stepped into the bakery and went to his usual table to sit down.

“Four slices of strawberry cake and a mug of ice chocolate please.” He said his order to the passing waiter who quickly noted it down before continuing on his way without suspecting any single thing.

What he was here to do today was going to make Hans pay for what he suffered in his past life and for the insult he gave to him as soon as he came back to life.

Calling me a bastard?

And shouting for me to pay as if the House Of Valmont was lacking in funds.

The waiter soon came back with his order and he took his time to dig into it and whilst he was enjoying the dessert, Dalphine walked into the bakery and came to sit down in the booth opposite his.

He said nothing to her as he openly nodded to the man seated far away from his booth and the man instantly stood up.

“Death to Hans!!” He cried out loudly and Cassian almost face palmed at such a stupid line but stopped himself so he wouldn’t miss the next course of events.

The man began to wreck havoc around the shop and they had to call many people to come out and help stop the man but that was exactly what Cassian wanted.

He was up on his feet and moving across the shop in no time.

“Cass—”

He slipped into the kitchen and quickly turned on every single heater and gas there, even going as far as throwing gasoline into the open hearth that was still being nursed.

He had just stepped out of the kitchen when the hearth went up in flames and caught the hanging beam I.

The ceiling and instantly, the fire quickly began to spread.

“Fire!”

“Run!”

Amidst the chaos, he sent a smirk to Hans whose face had drained of every color as he rushed to put a stop to the fire but it was of no use.

And Cassian knew this, that was why he quickly took his platter of cake and mug of iced chocolate and stepped outside with the others who were rushing to escape the rapidly spreading fire.

Smoke rose from the building and filled the air with dark fumes as the fire roared like a fire breathing dragon and soon consumed the entire ceiling.

Cassian took another slice of cake out of the third slice of cake on his plate and couldn’t resist the grin he had been holding in while leaving that ugly place behind.

The workers soon rushed out, followed closely by a distraught looking Hans who was scrabbling to carry out something’s he had salvaged from the fire.

Too bad it didn’t burn him too but not everything is supposed to go my way, I guess.

Hans set his eyes on him and realization filled those watery orbs before he dropped the things in his hands and stomped over to Cassian.

“You bast—”

“Is that the only word you know how to use?” Cassian cut him off and veins sprang up at the forehead of Hans as he stared at Cassian in disbelief and rage.

“You burned my shop down!!

I’ll kill you!!” Hans lunged at Cassian but he simply sidestepped the blow and smirked while drinking from the mug of iced chocolate.

“You shouldn’t do that, my friend.

If you want to blame someone then blame your bad luck for bringing this upon yourself.” He mocked with an infuriating wiggle to his brows and Hans breathed fire as hatred, pain and rage erupted from within him.

Yes!

That’s exactly what he wanted you to feel!

Exactly what he felt all these years that he suffered in every one of your hands.

He wanted to make them all suffer just like he suffered and he would start with this ugly and nasty bastard.

He lunged at Cassian again but this time, Cassian dodged and emptied the contents of the mug onto his head then leaned down to whisper.

“Taste it.

You’ll need it to open a new shop.”

Hans’ entire face changed and he quickly grabbed a hold of a club one of his workers was holding and raised it high up into the air before bringing it down on Cassian.

[New Gossip Discovered.]

[Crown Prince Lysander has been staring at you for thirty seconds straight!]

What?

Why?

He flung his legs up and kicked the club away from Hans’ hands without any effort at all and watched with satisfaction as the club sailed into the air and fell harmlessly to the side, close to the burning building.

“Clear!!” Voices filled the air and he looked back to find royal guards pushing through the onlookers and coming straight at them and behind them was someone whose sight fills Cassian with deep hatred.

This was the same man who had ordered his execution.

Crown Prince Lysander.
