When Gaia heard Azrael's words, a devilish smile appeared on her beautiful face, making her look even more captivating.
"My Lord, that's a wonderful idea. Enslave her."
Azrael nodded slightly before adding,
"And since she has traveled across this world for thousands of years, gathering treasures, spiritual herbs, and pills, we can assume that she possesses at least several thousand spiritual herbs and treasures."
Then he threw his head back and laughed loudly.
"I'm rich now! Hahahahaha!"
Gaia laughed as well.
After all, once Azrael had removed Olivia from her body, she could theoretically begin cultivating. The mere thought of finally being able to train, taking revenge on those who had wronged her, and perhaps even ascending to the throne of the Heavenly Serpent Empire one day filled her with an exhilarating sense of joy.
As for the unfortunate goddess at the center of it all, Olivia had fallen into a state of deep despair.
She had not only lost the body she had possessed for thousands of years, but also her freedom and the treasury containing everything she had accumulated over all those years.
She had lost everything.
At that moment, Olivia couldn't help but wonder whether her life had truly reached its lowest point.
But Azrael gave her little time to dwell on it.
He began reciting the Lower Demon Enslavement Technique.
His voice carried a mysterious rhythm, causing the spiritual energy within the room to tremble.
He then formed a hand seal.
Black demonic energy materialized in the air, dense and ominous. With a simple motion of Azrael's hand, it shot toward Olivia, surrounding her ethereal soul before beginning to seep into it.
The instant the demonic energy merged with her soul, Olivia felt terrifying pain surge through her entire spiritual existence.
Her soul screamed in agony as she desperately attempted to expel the invading energy.
Azrael's cold, commanding voice rang out:
"Don't resist, or you will experience my wrath."
Olivia hesitated for a few moments.
Then she abandoned her resistance.
She had already realized that she had no chance against this man. There was nothing left for her to do except accept her fate.
After several seconds, the seal began to take shape.
A mysterious black mark appeared on Olivia's chest, pulsing with dense demonic energy.
At that exact moment, Azrael moved.
He vanished from his position and appeared directly before Gaia. He took her hand and drew the same seal upon it.
The moment the seal was completed, Gaia felt an extremely strange connection between herself and Olivia.
It was as though an invisible thread now linked their souls.
When Gaia realized the nature of this connection, her eyes widened.
She had become Olivia's master.
With nothing more than a movement of her hand, she could destroy Olivia's soul completely.
Azrael looked at Gaia and asked casually,
"So, where is your treasury?"
Olivia stared at him for several moments before answering,
"It's in the Western Continent."
The moment Azrael heard her answer, his enthusiasm disappeared.
His expression turned into a frown.
"It's far away..."
He sighed before continuing,
"But it doesn't matter. I'll obtain it sooner or later."
Suddenly, his expression changed.
He turned toward one of the room's walls, as though he could see through it.
"There is someone powerful approaching."
In the next instant, Azrael disappeared.
Azrael appeared above the city.
He stood in the sky, his robes fluttering in the wind as he gazed toward the north.
Several minutes passed.
Then an old man appeared on the horizon.
He was bald, hunched over, and ugly, with a grotesque face. He wore a dark black robe.
A frightening aura radiated from his body.
Spiritual King—Sixth Level.
The old man approached the city and released his spiritual sense, sweeping across the entire area.
But the moment he realized that he could no longer sense the auras of the Rain Empire's soldiers, his expression darkened.
He immediately understood that something had happened.
The old man raised his head and looked at Azrael standing in the sky.
Then he asked coldly,
"Are you the one who killed our soldiers?"
The old man was a subordinate of the Rain Empire. He had come to investigate the disappearance of its soldiers.
Azrael looked at him without the slightest trace of concern.
Then he replied coldly,
"They were nothing more than insects who didn't know their place."
His eyes settled on the old man, a chilling glint appearing within them.
Then he said:
"So I exterminated them."
