[MP Cost: 20]
[Cooldown: 30 Seconds]
With Arthur’s current items and attributes, his damage would be quite substantial.
Two hundred percent Weapon Damage meant 40 damage, and adding his total of 25 Agility brought the base damage to 65. However, with Stealth activated and an attack from behind, his first hit had another 120% damage bonus.
It wasn’t simply 120% damage in total. It was 65 plus another 120% of that amount, bringing the attack to 143 damage.
That was huge for such an early stage of the game.
Arthur didn’t even have the best weapons or high Agility yet, so his damage would only skyrocket in the future.
After the boss’s defenses reduced the attack, Arthur’s final damage was still an incredible 118.
[118 Damage]
When Tower and the rest of the group saw that number, they were shocked.
Point Blank had been the one dealing the most damage so far, especially when using Piercing Arrow, but even her strongest attack didn’t come close to 118.
She had only dealt 40 damage because of the boss’s high defense. Arthur had dealt almost three times that amount!
"H-How?" Tower said, his lips trembling.
Arthur had no idea whether that was just shock or if the man was pissed after witnessing such a display of strength. Either way, he didn’t care.
After the first attack, Arthur immediately followed it with Deep Cut.
[13 Damage]
It wasn’t that high, but it added the first Bleeding Stack to the boss, increasing his damage over time.
Arthur noticed that Point Blank had yet to fire another arrow, so he shouted from the other side of the battlefield.
"Keep hitting it! We need all the damage we can get to kill this thing."
Point Blank snapped back to reality and fired a normal arrow, which also dealt relatively little damage.
[15 Damage]
Suzy was preparing her healing miracle in the meantime. Tower dodged two more attacks, just like Arthur had told him to, before blocking the third.
[Attack Blocked, -70 HP]
If he took another hit after that, his HP would be dangerously low, so Suzy immediately used Minor Healing. A yellow light surrounded Tower after she recited a short prayer while holding her talisman close to her chest.
Tower felt warmth spread through his body as he recovered a total of 100 HP, a decent amount for the early game.
However, Priests had a weakness, of course.
Their miracles consumed a lot of mana, and after that heal, Suzy only had enough for one more. They had to finish the boss before then because if their tank died, things would get ugly.
Arthur continued using basic attacks and activating Deep Cut whenever it came off cooldown. His basic attacks were dealing 17 damage, while Deep Cut dealt 13 and continued adding Bleeding Stacks.
Then, the Goblin Champion suddenly roared and entered a frenzied state.
Tower, Suzy, and Point Blank had no idea what was happening.
"A special attack! Be careful, Tower!" Suzy screamed from the back.
Arthur immediately took the lead.
"His damage is amplified in this state, and he attacks faster too, but that also means his HP is getting low. I think I can finish him with one last skill!"
Tower blocked another hit and lost 100 HP. This time, the attack was so strong that it knocked him to the ground, his back slamming against the grass as his shield flew away from his body.
Arthur quickly checked his MP.
It wasn’t enough.
If he activated Stealth, he wouldn’t have enough mana left for one last Assassination.
"Does anyone have an MP potion? I need one!"
All normal players started the game with one, but Arthur didn’t because his class wasn’t a normal starting class. He had to rely on someone else.
Point Blank still had hers. She pulled the potion from her inventory and threw it across the battlefield toward Arthur.
At the same time, the Goblin Champion raised its massive mace high into the air, preparing another attack.
Suzy healed Tower again, but there was one major problem.
He no longer had his shield, and he couldn’t dodge in time.
A clean hit like that would kill him for sure. Without the damage reduction from blocking, Tower wouldn’t survive it.
"FAST, CINDER! FAST! KILL THIS THING!" Tower shouted, no longer caring how desperate he sounded.
Arthur caught the MP potion mid air, drank it, and immediately activated Stealth again.
Then he followed with another Assassination, once again targeting the goblin’s leg.
This time, however, the damage wouldn’t stop at 118.
The Goblin Champion had reached 5 Bleeding Stacks, which meant Assassination would consume them and deal an additional 200% of their remaining bleed damage.
With 5 stacks dealing 2 damage per second each, the boss was taking 10 damage every second from bleeding alone. There were still 6 seconds remaining on the effect, meaning 60 bleed damage remained.
Two hundred percent of that was another 120 damage!
After the Goblin Champion’s defenses reduced the final number, Arthur’s attack still dealt a whopping 215 damage.
[215 Damage]
Arthur drove his sword deep into the goblin’s leg.
The creature roared again, but this time it wasn’t trying to scare them.
It was a roar of pain and agony.
The Goblin Champion froze mid-attack, its raised mace slowly lowering as its eyes closed. A moment later, its massive body collapsed onto the grass.
A loud crash echoed through the forest as both the goblin and its enormous iron mace hit the ground.
Multiple notifications appeared in front of Arthur.
There were the EXP gains and drops, of course, but one notification stood out from all the others.
[Ding!]
[Global Announcement]
[A four-man party has defeated the first Bronze Rank Field Boss. Bonus rewards will be given to all members of the party.]
Another screen appeared in front of Arthur, asking them to name their party.
He immediately saw an opportunity.
Before Tower could even react, Arthur changed the party name himself.
[Cinder and His Lackeys]
That was the name Arthur chose...
