He looked me right in the eye; there was no hesitation, no shame.

Just unwavering determination to ruin me.

I shook my head and turned to my side to crawl away, but he grabbed my waist and pulled me back to the edge.

“Give in…otherwise, I know how to make you.” He leaned in, making me turn my face to the left.

My breath was heavy, and my eyes formed new warm tears again.

His hot breath caressed my skin, making me tremble.

“You ha-have done enough, I won’t let y-you ruin me anymore.” I retorted, struggling to get away from him.

He chuckled near my ear, making me flinch as goosebumps began to rise on my skin.

“I haven’t even started.” Warm tears finally began to run down my temple.

How did someone like me, who never left the house, become his target?

Being a Rogov was such a curse; it was imprinted on my fate.

“Just kill me,” I said.

He wanted Rogov’s blood, so he could have it.

I just wanted to be free from this useless life.

“Not yet…I have a lot to give and take.” He said and raised my dress up till my thighs in one swift motion.

I gasped, my hands shooting down to stop him, but he grabbed my wrists and pinned them above my head, making my chest puff out.

“No…

don’t you dare,” I growled.

He looked right in my eye and smirked as if he had finally gotten his revenge.

A smirk laced with mischief, an expression so rare on that face.

“See…you got that in you.

That monster is inside you, too.

Give it to me, Zarya.” I stared at him with a frown, like he had gone crazy.

“I’m not like you.” My voice came out rough.

He chuckled until all of that smile vanished from that face, those expressions once again turning stoic.

“Then I’ll make you one like me.” He pulled me down, pressing his knee between my legs.

His rough hand caressed my bare thigh like he owned my body.

I squirmed, trying to free myself.

I trembled when he began to rub his knee against my clothed core.

I shook my head, trying my best to free myself, but the more I struggled, the more he rubbed me.

“Ahh,” I felt a weird sensation coursing through my body, making me feel disgusted.

I glared at him through my tears.

He was looking at me like he always does.

His quiet observation made me sick.

I wasn’t a piece for his entertainment.

“Rot in hell,” I said and raised my left knee, hitting him right between his legs.

He growled and instantly loosened his grip on me.

I accidentally put my weight on the sprained ankle and yelped, but I didn’t stop and limped towards the door.

I knew if Sergei caught me, he would actually kill me.

My heart jumped in my mouth when I found him turning towards me from the corner of my eye.

His hands were no longer on his groin.

I knew even if I opened this door, I wouldn’t be able to step out.

Just as I opened the door to rush out, I bumped into someone.

My wide eyes snapped down, and I found Lev on the floor.

He bumped into me and landed on his butt with a little yelp.

The little one stared up at me, confused.

His eyes went back to his father.

I bit my lower lip, knowing that Lev was here, Sergei wouldn’t touch me, so I immediately helped him up and scooped him in my arms.

My body was still slightly trembling.

“Oh, are yo-you okay?” I asked, my breath heavy, and I pretended like nothing happened.

The little boy stared at me, confused, and then back at his father once again.

Sergei stood there, watching me hold his son to avoid him.

“Sorry about that,” I said and hesitantly looked towards Sergei.

My heartbeat fastened when he began to walk towards us.

His eyes moved from his son to me.

Once Sergei got closer, Lev leaned towards him, and I had no choice but to hand the child over to his monster of a father.

Lev wrapped his tiny arms around Sergei’s neck and nuzzled his cheeks against Sergei’s like a cat seeking warmth.

I watched the scene with my lips parted.

This wasn’t what I was expecting.

I thought they weren’t close.

Sergei stared at me dead in the eyes, slamming the door right in my face, making me flinch.

I stood there dumbfounded, blinking at the door like some fool.

Jerk!

I groaned and began to limp towards my room.

If this continued…I would really die from emotional overload.

“Tsk…” Natasha purses her lips in a thin line as her hands work around my ankle to bandage it.

“He scared the shit out of us.

Seriously, how do you even handle him?” Natasha asked, but I remained silent, quietly staring out of the window as we sat on the couch before it.

Handle him?

Facing him was enough of a nightmare.

“Why did you marry him?” She asked, finally looking up at me, but I continued to look out.

The moon was full and extra bright today.

“Because I had no choice,” I whispered under my breath.

Natasha frowned and lowered her gaze back to my ankle.

She knew what Pakhan truly was.

And I was burning right in it.

After a while, she left, leaving me alone with my thoughts and pain; after all, they were my own to handle.

I stared out at the night sky.

My mind, my thoughts in chaos.

I managed to escape my father’s cage, but how would I escape his?

He was worse than my father.

I ran a hand down my face.

Suddenly, someone knocked on my door.

My heartbeat spiked at the mere sound of knocking.

I pulled my ankle closer and covered it with my dress.

“Yes?” The door opened, and Alek stepped inside.

Agh!

He was the second least person I wanted to see right now.

The first one would always be Sergei.

Alek looked at me boringly.

“What do you want?” I asked, my tone lacking its usual softness.

He said nothing and stepped closer to my couch.

He pulled out a black phone.

Similar to the one I broke.

Gladly, Sergei didn’t get to my neck for this.

I took the phone, examining it.

No words were shared between us.

He just quietly left, closing the door behind him with a soft thud.

I swallowed hard and stared at Sergei’s name saved in my contacts.

The only name…

He was stubborn.

Well…I guess.

I looked out of the window again, staring up at the bright spot among the darkness.

I’ll have to face him, and I can’t face him alone.

‘Take my hand,’ my devil whispered in my ear.

Yes, I was getting treated like shit when all I did was exist quietly between four walls all my life.

I didn’t deserve this.

‘You don’t deserve this.’

Yes, I don’t deserve this.

My grip tightened on the phone.

He’ll regret bringing me here.

He’ll regret making me his wife.

I’ll tell him what a Rogov truly is.

But…how would I do it?

‘Target the weakest.’

My mind instantly went to him.

Lev Morozov.
