“Wild?” Noah sounded surprised.

It was so early.

How could I be exhausted?

I turned my head away, glancing out from the car, and a low sigh escaped my lips.

Indeed, I felt a little drowsy.

One more night with Sébastien would have been nice.

A clean break from all this stress and fatigue I’d been going through for the past few days.

However, thinking about the omega before him earlier, I could only suppress the desire.

He was taken.

Craving him had become a sin.

I rubbed my eyes, suppressing a yawn.

“Where should we go?”

The bar…

“Can we go somewhere else first?” I felt like I needed to clear my head or something.

This was the disadvantage of having no current partner.

The best way to feel better at the moment was hooking him with an alpha…

My mood soured.

What was going on with me?

“Let’s watch a movie.

What do you think?”

My brows lifted slightly.

“That sounds ancient.” It’d been like forever since I last set foot in a cinema.

“I’m in.” It sounded fun.

It was better than nothing.

Perhaps watching two lovers making out on the screen could help me get back on my feet.

It was a nice idea.

Noah smiled broadly.

He seemed to be in an even better mood than I was.

I clicked my tongue lazily.

“Ice cream?”

“Hell, yeah.” Who would say no to one?

Noah left to get it.

I walked toward the ticket stand.

Showing my ID, I was able to pick up two VIP tickets.

“Romance?”

Noah asked, staring at the tickets in my hand.

I pressed the tickets to his chest and took the ice cream instead.

“Get us some popcorn and meet me in the elevator.”

“Yes, boss!”

Noah rushed off.

I walked toward the elevator.

Seeing that only a few people were using it, I silently waited at the side for Noah.

The ice cream tasted somewhat bland.

My nose scrunched up.

Checking the brand, my brows creased even more.

The brand was one of the best brands I knew.

The flavor was exactly how I used to love it.

Why did the taste suddenly feel so repulsive?

My lips pursed as I forced down the ice cream, reluctant to waste it.

Noah returned with two cups of popcorn.

His breath was a little quickened as he stood before me.

“You should have taken it easy.” I scolded.

Noah winked.

“Hate to keep you waiting.” He gestured to the elevator.

“Let’s get in.”

I nodded and led the way.

Entering, we realized no one else was inside.

Noah shifted closer to me.

“Is something wrong with the ice cream?”

I shrugged.

“Expired?”

Noah chuckled.

“I guess my taste buds grew worse.”

Silence.

“Do you want me to invite the doctor home for a check-up tomorrow?”

“That wouldn’t work, would it?

What if they need to do more checkups that require more equipment?”

Though I hated hospitals, I wasn’t unreasonable enough to demand a check-up at home.

Especially when I knew it wasn’t an illness that could be easily discovered.

Whatever it was, it seemed to have something to do with my belly.

Perhaps it was gastritis.

The doctors would need thorough tests to find that out.

My shoulders fell.

“Let’s just visit the hospital tomorrow morning.”

“Are you sure?”

I forcefully swallowed a big amount of ice cream.

The coldness numbed my tongue.

“Hm.

I’ll go with you tomorrow morning.” I had no other choice.

Noah nodded.

“Elian is so good.”

My lips twitched.

“Cut the crap.

I’m no longer a kid.”

“Yeah.

You’re 21.

Old enough to marry me.”

I rolled my eyes at him.

The movie started less than 20 minutes after we got to the cinema.

Sitting beside me, Noah couldn’t stop complaining about how cliché the movie was.

I laughed.

It was fun, though.

At least, explicit enough to show all the parts I wanted to see.

The main character had a top-quality body, almost worthy of comparison with mine.

The partner was a good catch, a little lower than Sébastien.

However, their nights were wild.

Every scene reminded me of Sébastien…

The partner’s voice, deep and magnetic, seemed to repeat every word I heard that night.

The crumbled sheet.

The half-won singlet.

The bonded hands.

Everything was as clear as the drama before me.

It was as if it happened yesterday.

My eyes were glued to the scene.

Every move.

Every touch.

I wished the night could be lived again.

The touch could be felt again.

The pheromone…

I wanted to perceive it once more.

Heat rose from my belly.

A low grunt escaped my throat.

I closed my eyes wearily.

Would I really have to hook up with Sébastien again before his wedding?

That didn’t sound right, though.

Hitting on a man in a relationship was so low that I didn’t want to try it…

It wasn’t fun.

No, it was boring.

Even if that person was Sébastien.

It wasn’t worth it.

“Elian, you okay?”

I forcefully closed my eyes, trying to suppress the hit that was trying to envelop me.

Fortunately, I had no pheromones, or it could have easily been perceived.

Noah would have easily understood what was wrong with me.

No.

That would be too embarrassing.

I eyed Noah and closed my eyes again.

“It’s nothing.”

Something pressed into my hair, scattering my beautifully styled hair.

Annoyed, I slapped away his hand.

Noah laughed.

“It’s good you’re alright.”

I snorted.

“Elian?”

“Elian, the movie is over.”

Noah’s gentle voice rang in my ears.

I opened my eyes, slightly unfocused; I tried to look toward the screen.

“Wait, did I fall asleep?” Wasn’t I speaking to Noah a while ago?

Why did it suddenly feel like I had slept off for a while?

The screen had also stopped showing images.

Instead, the rows of names made it obvious that the movie was over.

“How long was I asleep?”

“Two hours.”

My eyes flickered.

I checked the time, realizing it was only a little past 12.

Why would I sleep so early?

Something really wasn’t right…

A slight ache in my stomach made me groan.

“It’s okay.

You must have been exhausted.”

I glanced at Noah, gently rubbing my belly. Get faster updates on g.com.

“From what?” I hadn’t even taken any alpha home for three weeks.

How could I be exhausted?

Noah paused.

He also couldn’t figure it out.

“When did this start?”

I thought about it.

“A few days ago.

I sleep more during the day now.” I paused.

Confusion etched in my brows.

“There are times I doze off in the bar.”

“That’s dangerous.” Noah frowned.

“Let’s leave here first.”

I agreed with him.

Noah took my hand, and we stood up together.

My stomach ached faintly.

“Should I drop you at home?”

“You look really exhausted.”

I yawned.

“No.” I would hate to be alone at this moment.

Everything was so strange.

It was starting to feel like I might be down with a dangerous disease.

Could it be that Sébastien had an illness?

He was the last alpha I had something with and also the only alpha I ever accepted without a proper check.

Could I have contracted anything from him?

The thought made my heart tremble.

This might be more dangerous than I thought…

“Noah,” I called.

“Hm?” He stopped, resting on the car.

“Do you think I might be sick?”

“Perhaps?

It might be a minor illness.”

“You’ve rarely fallen sick.

But you’re an omega.

It’s natural to fall sick once in a while.”

I knew that.

But was I like other omegas?

No.

Incomplete omega…

that was who I was.

No pheromone.

No perceiving pheromones.

No heat.

No sickness either.

I wasn’t much better than betas.

“That doesn’t seem right.” It really didn’t.

“I might have been infected with a terrible disease, Noah.” The thought made me a little scared.

If that happened, wouldn’t that mean I wouldn’t be able to have fun until the disease was fully treated?

It had only been three weeks since I hadn’t taken home an alpha, and it already felt like forever.

If the treatment took months, I might just collapse one afternoon from the despair.

I rubbed my belly, feeling like the pain had increased somehow.

This felt so scary…

Noah’s laughter snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Infection?” He grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer.

“That’s impossible.”

“Stop thinking about so much nonsense.

The doctor will diagnose you tomorrow and give you the best treatment.”

He tilted his head slightly.

“Isn’t this about this few days abstinence?”

I rolled my eyes, looking away from him.

He laughed even louder.

I gritted my teeth.

Noah took so much pleasure in my misery.

“I’ll make you pay…” My words stopped as nausea hit me.

I bent forward, hands on my belly as I gagged.

Nothing came out.

Just…

pain.

My stomach twisted in pain.

My throat felt filled, yet nothing came out.

“Elian…”

Noah’s voice weakened in my ears.

My eyes grew blurry.

The pain was intense.

My body spasm and a cry escaped my throat.

I tried to curse, but darkness reached me first.
