From beginning to end, Su Zhi never once looked back at An Chenru. She even coldly locked the door after the last guest squeezed into the room.
When An Chenru’s fans saw this scene, they completely lost it.
They had been worried all along that Su Zhi would try to cling to their idol on the dating show, but when they saw that Su Zhi did not take An Chenru seriously at all, they became even angrier.
【Chenru is such a good person. Just an hour ago, he played a shooting game for Su Zhi and even rode the roller coaster and the giant pendulum with her. But the moment danger came, Su Zhi ran faster than anyone. Truly the most vicious kind of woman!】
【I even reluctantly accepted the possibility of Su Zhi being with Chenru before, but after seeing her performance now, Chenru can choose anyone, just not Su Zhi!】
The viewers who had just started liking Su Zhi were almost amused into anger by the reactions of An Chenru’s fans.
【Are you all this dramatic? An Chenru got caught because his stamina was bad. I’d say he brought it on himself. Without him, where would this dungeon riot have even come from?】
【And what do you mean by ‘reluctantly accepted’? Did you ask An Chenru to look in the mirror before saying that? Does he even deserve our Sister Zhi? Do you really think your brother is cash that everyone wants?】
【Exactly. And when Sister Zhi saved Jiang Guxue, her boyfriend energy was off the charts— ten thousand times cooler than An Chenru running for his life. Even if we ship CPs, we ship Sister Zhi and Jiang Guxue. Your brother is just a background board!】
To An Chenru’s fans, those comments felt like knives stabbing straight into their hearts. As their urge to vomit blood rose, so did their rage.
Very quickly, the two sides once again launched a vicious war in the comment section centered entirely on Su Zhi.
……
Meanwhile, after everyone entered the room, Su Zhi said to them, “There are two secret passages in this room. One leads to the first instance, and the other leads back to the fourth. Which one do you choose?”
The expressions on the male guests’ faces were all grim. After personally witnessing An Chenru being caught and having his Heartbeat Coins cleared, they had gained a very clear understanding. This production team really dared to play hard!
After Jiang Guxue recovered from the tension of being chased by NPCs, she looked at Su Zhi and asked first, “What do those two paths represent?”
Hearing Jiang Guxue’s question, Su Zhi’s lips curved slightly, and she said, “Choosing the first path means we keep dodging NPCs like before. As for choosing the fourth path……” Her gaze sharpened. “That means we start a counterattack.”
Du Weihan was the first to respond, “Then what’s there to think about? I’m choosing the fourth. I’ve been chased all the way here. I’m already suffocating!”
Cheng Feiran also answered succinctly, “Fourth.”
Jiang Guxue looked straight at Su Zhi. “Su Zhi, what’s your choice?”
Su Zhi raised an eyebrow at her. “Fourth.”
Hearing Su Zhi’s answer, Jiang Guxue did not hesitate at all, “Then I choose the fourth too.”
As the four of them finished choosing, heavy footsteps once again sounded outside the door, followed closely by urgent crashing noises.
Seeing this, Du Weihan hurriedly urged, “Su Zhi, hurry up and open the passage!”
Du Weihan’s fans could not even bear to look.
The fastest to support Su Zhi was him.
The fastest to urge Su Zhi was also him.
Du Weihan, do you still remember that you and Su Zhi had beef?
At this moment, the door to the room the four were in was on the verge of collapsing as the impacts grew stronger and stronger.
And it was precisely then that Su Zhi finally found the secret passage.
Just after the four of them left through the secret passage, the room’s door was smashed open by the NPCs once again.
After entering the room and seeing that it was completely empty, the NPCs fell into silence.
Their gazes shifted back and forth between the first passage and the fourth passage. In the end, they decided to split up. Half headed toward Instance No. 1, and the other half toward Instance No. 4.
When Su Zhiyan’s fans saw the NPCs advancing toward both passages at the same time, they nearly collapsed.
【Damn it, Su Zhi is such a jinx! Zhiyan, run!】
【Su Zhi is so vicious. Again and again, she diverts disaster toward others. She’s obviously trying to harm our Zhiyan! Just thinking about Zhiyan being chased by those terrifying NPCs later makes me not even dare to watch the stream. Zhiyan’s heart can’t take it!】
【Su Zhi has always been someone who harms others who don’t bring her benefits. Look at these guests, aren’t they all victims of Su Zhi? If she had just stood there obediently and gotten caught, none of this would have happened!】
【Are Su Zhiyan’s fans seriously sick? You keep forcing your presence everywhere. If you like Su Zhiyan so much, can you please get out of this stream?】
【Exactly. I took a look at Su Zhiyan’s instance earlier. Tsk, the production team is really biased. They even removed the scary BGM and props. If I hadn’t gone there before, I’d have thought the haunted house’s difficulty was so low.】
【You’re just jealous. Our Zhiyan has poor health. What’s wrong with the production team giving her a little preferential treatment? What does it have to do with you?】
【Wow, this is the first time I’ve seen fans so shameless about pulling strings! Truly, like idol, like fans. Su Zhiyan herself isn’t anything good either!】
……
The production team had never expected things to spiral so completely out of control.
Seeing the constant barrage of comments accusing the show of treating guests differently, the director irritably scratched his head.
As the director of the entire program, he least wanted the show’s reputation to suffer even the slightest damage, but at the same time, he was afraid that Su Zhiyan might really be frightened into an episode.
After weighing things again and again, the director finally made the call to let Su Zhiyan leave the haunted house first.
……
Inside Instance No. 1, Su Zhiyan was immersed in developing her relationship with Bai Ye. Just as she was about to push Bai Ye’s favorability to 31%, she saw one of the campus dungeon NPCs appear.
At that moment, Su Zhiyan had no idea what was about to happen.
Because of the production team’s instructions, this NPC had already removed her exaggerated makeup. So when she saw Su Zhiyan, the excited expression on her face did not look like that of a haunted house NPC at all, but rather like a crazed fan.
Clearly, that was exactly what Su Zhiyan thought.
Seeing the NPC’s reaction, Su Zhiyan’s sweet yet pale face bloomed into a smile. “Are you my fan? Do you need my autograph?”
Shen Aofu and Bai Ye, who were standing nearby, also failed to sense anything amiss.
And so, they watched helplessly as, the moment Su Zhiyan finished speaking, the NPC suddenly stepped forward and grabbed her hand.
Immediately after, the broadcast echoed through Instance No. 1.
“Instance No. 1 is about to enter Battle Royale mode. If a guest is caught by an NPC, their Heartbeat Coins will be cleared. All guests, please be prepared.”
“Guest Su Zhiyan has been caught. Heartbeat Coins cleared!”
Su Zhiyan: ???
