When Shen Aofu heard Su Zhi say the words ‘moral coercion’, her expression immediately darkened.
“Su Zhi, if it weren’t for you, how would we have been eliminated? Don’t you think you should pay the price for us?”
Hearing that, Su Zhi slowly rose from her seat and walked step by step toward Shen Aofu.
As Su Zhi gradually closed in on her, a strong sense of danger surged in Shen Aofu’s heart. “Su Zhi, what are you doing? This is a livestream!”
Su Zhi stopped half a meter away from Shen Aofu. A captivating smile suddenly bloomed on her face. “If I don’t give it to you, what can you do to me?”
Su Zhi’s face fans were instantly captured by her smile. For a moment, the screen was flooded with comments like 【Ahhhhhh!】 and 【Ah, sister is amazing!】
Very quickly, after the face fans’ comments swept past, the livestream chat turned into a battlefield of chaos.
From the moment the broadcast started, the attitudes of passersby and fans had been sharply polarized.
That conflict was completely ignited the moment Shen Aofu went to confront Su Zhi.
【Xiao Fu didn’t go to Su Zhi for herself. She did it for her best friend! Even knowing this is a livestream, she still stepped forward without hesitation for her friend, even if she might be misunderstood!】
【Wuuwuuwuu, I’m really moved by the bond between the two. Also, since Su Zhi has so many Heartbeat Coins, what’s wrong with giving some to Zhiyan?】
【Exactly! And Zhiyan lost her Heartbeat Coins because she got implicated by Su Zhi in the first place. Su Zhi should just treat it as compensation.】
【What moral coercion? This is mutual help, okay? Su Zhi is just selfish!】
【Are you guys serious? Did your values get chewed up by dogs? Why are they so crooked?!】
【I’m really fed up. If what Shen Aofu is doing isn’t moral coercion, then what is? Just because Su Zhi has more Heartbeat Coins, does that mean she’s obligated to give them to Su Zhiyan? And even blaming Su Zhiyan’s elimination on Su Zhi. If you can’t play, then don’t play!】
【Upstairs really said what I wanted to say! I’m also sick of fans constantly using Su Zhiyan’s health as an excuse. If her health is bad, then don’t go on a variety show!】
【Exactly. If they want to find the real culprit behind their elimination, it should be An Chenru. No matter how you look at it, Su Zhi shouldn’t be the one targeted.】
As the livestream descended into chaos, the atmosphere on Su Zhi’s side also grew tense.
Shen Aofu had not expected that Su Zhi would refuse so arrogantly in front of the livestream, without even bothering to pretend.
Looking at the brilliant smile on Su Zhi’s face, Shen Aofu felt a powerful urge to slap her.
“Su Zhi, don’t go too far!”
Hearing that, Su Zhi’s beautiful eyes suddenly sharpened. “Too far? Then, since you’re so rich, give me a few million. If you can’t do that, don’t use saintly standards to demand things from me.”
Shen Aofu was nearly choked to death by those words. After reacting, she shouted at Su Zhi again, “Do you dare say that Zhiyan’s elimination has nothing to do with you at all? If you don’t, then hurry up and hand over the Heartbeat Coins!”
Su Zhi leaned casually against the wall and nodded at Shen Aofu. “Of course, it has nothing to do with me. By the way, since you care so much about Su Zhiyan, why don’t you go sleep in the RV, or share a room with her?”
Shen Aofu had not expected Su Zhi to shamelessly say it had nothing to do with her.
She was about to say more when Su Zhi continued.
“Oh, by the way, hasn’t Su Zhiyan told you about her relationship with me yet? Should I tell you now? Actually, Su Zhiyan and I……”
Those words instantly ignited the viewers’ gossip instincts. Even fans who had been arguing stopped typing.
Just as everyone’s curiosity was piqued and they thought Su Zhi was about to reveal something, Su Zhiyan interrupted her mid-sentence.
“Xiao Fu, don’t do this for me!”
Su Zhiyan suddenly appeared in the livestream frame, her voice slightly breathless, as if she had just jogged upstairs.
After soothing Shen Aofu with a few words, Su Zhiyan turned to Su Zhi, a hint of apology in her eyes. “Ms. Su, I’m really sorry. I apologize on Xiao Fu’s behalf. She did this entirely for my sake. I hope you can forgive her.”
This was the first time since transmigrating into the novel that Su Zhi had come into close contact with the female protagonist.
Watching Su Zhiyan casually smooth things over with just a few words, while stepping on Shen Aofu and Su Zhi to secure herself a reputation for gentleness and kindness, Su Zhi knew that Su Zhiyan had nothing in common with the supposedly pure and kind character described in the novel.
Su Zhi tilted her head and smiled at Su Zhiyan. She looked both gorgeous and innocent, but the words she spoke froze Su Zhiyan’s expression in place.
“I won’t forgive.”
After saying that, Su Zhi added, “By the way, you and Shen Aofu really are best friends. One morally coerces me into handing over Heartbeat Coins, and the other morally coerces me into forgiving.”
In the livestream, passersby who had been inflamed by the fans of Su Zhiyan and Shen Aofu felt an inexplicable sense of relief after hearing Su Zhi’s words. Many viewers who had once been successfully morally coerced even started to like Su Zhi because of this.
【Love it, love it! If I were as tough as Su Zhi, I wouldn’t have been morally coerced before.】
【Hahaha, I always thought Su Zhiyan had that green-tea[1]a person who pretends to be innocent and pure while secretly being manipulative or scheming jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_1629709_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_1629709_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], }); vibe. Thanks, Sister Zhi— my internet spokesperson— for saying it out loud for me!】
【Exactly. When it’s something you don’t want to do, you must be brave enough to say no. And Sister Zhi isn’t wrong at all. If Shen Aofu truly cared about Su Zhiyan, she could have shared a room with her or gone to sleep in the RV herself. In the end, she just didn’t want to inconvenience herself, so she morally coerced Sister Zhi!】
……
At this moment, in the Heartbeat House, after Su Zhi finished speaking, Su Zhiyan froze for only a second before reacting.
Her eyes instantly reddened, and faint tears shimmered in her gaze as she looked at Su Zhi. “Ms. Su, I sincerely apologize to you. I truly didn’t mean anything else.”
Already furious, Shen Aofu exploded the moment she saw Su Zhiyan’s aggrieved expression. Forgetting all about the livestream, she rushed forward, wanting to slap Su Zhi hard across the face.
She wanted to see how Su Zhi would still have the nerve to act arrogant in front of her after being slapped in front of so many viewers.
The viewers and fans watching the livestream were stunned.
They had thought that arguing and cold wars on a livestream were already the limit. They never imagined that someone would actually try to get physical!
But just as Shen Aofu’s hand was about to touch Su Zhi, something unexpected happened.
Shen Aofu was wearing high heels. As she rushed toward Su Zhi with her nose in the air, she did not pay attention to her footing at all. Just as she was about to reach Su Zhi, she stumbled and fell straight toward her.
As Shen Aofu fell, her scream echoed throughout the livestream.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh!”
The viewers stared blankly at the turn of events, completely unable to understand why Shen Aofu was screaming so miserably.
From the viewers’ perspective, Shen Aofu tripped while trying to attack Su Zhi and then fell headfirst into Su Zhi’s arms. Su Zhi hadn’t even screamed, so why was Shen Aofu wailing like a ghost?!
The still-not-fully-offline item, Spiky Ball: Strike when it’s time to strike, then hide merit and fame!
Su Zhi could no longer tolerate Shen Aofu’s shrill screaming. She grabbed Shen Aofu’s wrist and yanked her upright.
With Su Zhi’s movement, Shen Aofu let out another agonized howl.
Seeing that Su Zhi hadn’t used much strength at all while Shen Aofu screamed so tragically, the onlooking viewers looked at Shen Aofu with undisguised contempt.
She just fell down. Was it really necessary to scream this long? How pretentious!
Su Zhi looked at Shen Aofu and said mockingly, “Ms. Shen, since moral coercion didn’t work, are you switching to extortion now?”
