The viewers watching the livestream instantly grew excited after hearing the production team’s broadcast. Heaven knew they had been squatting in the livestream room all this time just to see this very moment.
In dating shows, sending messages was practically a battlefield. Pairings who got along harmoniously during the day might, without any warning, choose someone else at night.
What was more, the variety show 《Lover’s Trap》had even introduced a werewolf mechanic, further increasing the uncertainty of the messages.
Many viewers switched back and forth between livestream rooms, trying to figure out who each guest had sent their message to and who the werewolf was.
【The werewolf should be easy to guess, right? Just compare the time when a guest receives the werewolf’s message, and we can lock down who it is.】
【Bro, you think we didn’t try that before? Someone thought of that in the first few seasons already, but the phones provided by the program have scheduled message sending. In some previous seasons, the werewolf didn’t even send a message at all! So how are we supposed to guess?】
【……】
【I’m not in a rush to find the werewolf. I’m more curious about who these eight people are sending their messages to.】
【Let me predict it. I’m not sure about the other groups, but Su Zhi should send hers to An Chenru, right?】
【Hahahaha, I’m dying of laughter! Besides An Chenru, who else could Su Zhi send a message to? She might become the first female guest tonight to receive zero messages!】
【Hehe, if I were Su Zhi, I’d be looking for a crack in the ground to crawl into right now!】
While Su Zhi’s haters were celebrating wildly in the livestream, the eight guests on camera finally made their decisions about who to send their Heartbeat Messages to.
But at the very last moment, the livestream was cut off, leaving the viewers with only a few big words on the screen, 【If you want to know what happens next, please watch tomorrow’s livestream.】
Viewers: ……
Damn it! Trash production team! Absolutely inhuman!

The next day, viewers deliberately woke up early just to find out who the guests had sent their messages to.
The haters were not to be outdone either. They also showed up with dark circles under their eyes, watching the livestream, eager to see Su Zhi become a laughingstock with zero messages.
They had even prepared mocking lines for her in advance.
Thus, amid the anticipation of both viewers and haters, the livestream finally went live again.
The moment it started, countless viewers and haters squeezed in frantically.
Then they saw the eight guests sitting on the sofas in the main hall, the atmosphere looking unusually tense.
Among them, Du Weihan and Shen Aofu looked especially grim. Even An Chenru, whose lips usually carried a gentle smile, now had the corners of his mouth drooping slightly.
Seeing their reactions, viewers who had missed last night’s progress felt their gossip instincts ignite.
【Damn, what happened last night? Can someone tell me? Why does it feel like I missed a ton of plot in just one night?】
【Lighting a cigarette in silence. Who didn’t? I guess it has something to do with the Heartbeat Messages last night. Could it be that these three didn’t receive messages from the people they liked?】
【By the way, why did the production team gather everyone together? Don’t tell me they’re going to read the message contents out loud on livestream? Hahaha.】
【Holy crap, wouldn’t that be a public execution?!】
In fact, just as the viewers guessed, the production team really did go for public execution.
When the director appeared on camera, the viewers who had been joking around were completely stunned.
【Holy crap, they’re actually doing it!】
The director’s gaze swept over the eight guests one by one. When it landed on Su Zhi, it paused for a brief moment before quickly moving on.
“Alright, now I will announce the number of messages each guest received. In a moment, the guests who received messages will have to read out the content and reveal the sender in front of the livestream.”
Upon hearing that requirement, Du Weihan’s expression darkened further, and the way he looked at Su Zhi was filled with anger.
The viewers were confused. What was going on between the two? Did they fight again after the livestream ended last night?
But soon, the viewers had no time to dwell on such details and focused their attention back on the director.
“First, we’ll announce the guests who didn’t receive any messages last night.”
At this point, Su Zhi’s haters had already typed out all the mocking comments they had prepared, just waiting to send them the moment Su Zhi’s name was announced.
【Hahaha, I can’t wait to see Su Zhi’s expression when her name is called. She must be so ashamed!】
【I bet Su Zhi will cry miserably. Serves you right for trying to cling to Movie King Qin before!】
【Exactly. She was so arrogant yesterday when she snapped at Aofu. Now karma’s here!】
Just as the haters were full of anticipation, the director finally announced the names.
“The guests who did not receive any Heartbeat Messages are An Chenru, Jiang Guxue, and Shen Aofu.”
Haters: ???
All the viewers watching the livestream were stunned, especially the fans of the three guests.
【What the hell is this? So after Chenru was so considerate toward Su Zhi yesterday, he didn’t even get a single message in the end?!】
【What shocks me even more is that three guests didn’t receive any messages. No wonder their expressions looked so bad earlier.】
【This is so awkward. Jiang Guxue is fine. She’s only half in the industry and isn’t familiar with the male guests. But Shen Aofu and An Chenru……】
Before the viewers and fans could recover, the director continued.
“Next, the guests who received one Heartbeat Message are Su Zhiyan, Cheng Feiran, and Du Weihan.”
Viewers who had assumed Su Zhi would appear in this part began to grow restless.
【Wait, what’s going on? Did Su Zhi receive a message from someone other than An Chenru? But no matter how hard I think, I can’t figure out who would send her a message!】
As that comment flashed by, the director’s voice sounded again.
“Lastly, the guests who received three messages are Su Zhi and Bai Ye.”
After the director finished announcing all the results, Shen Aofu’s expression had turned completely dark. Even the faint smile that lingered on An Chenru’s face vanished entirely.
Compared to An Chenru and Shen Aofu, the guests who had received one message weren’t feeling much better either, since they now had to read their messages out loud in front of the livestream.
【Bai Ye is really gentle. He even asked about Zhiyan’s health in his message.】
【Hahahahaha, I can see Jiang Guxue’s perfunctory attitude toward the show. She literally just sent Cheng Feiran two words, ‘Good night’.】
After Su Zhiyan and Cheng Feiran finished reading their messages, it was quickly Du Weihan’s turn.
Du Weihan, as shown on camera, didn’t look even remotely happy about receiving a message. The moment he stood up to read it, he shot Su Zhi a glare, then viciously spat out the sender’s name.
“Su Zhi!”
When they heard that name, the viewers almost thought they were hearing things.
【What, what, what? Su Zhi actually sent a message to Du Weihan? Are we sure it wasn’t sent by mistake?!】
【Don’t tell me these two fell in love while fighting? This is only day one. Way too fast, isn’t it?】
But once the viewers heard the content of the message, they immediately calmed down.
After grinding out Su Zhi’s name through clenched teeth, Du Weihan’s lips moved several times, yet he couldn’t bring himself to read the message.
It was only after the staff urged him that he finally spoke.
“Du Weihan, I will definitely not tell anyone that you’re afraid of ghosts.”
Du Weihan: ……
He hadn’t expected that he would end up exposing himself!
Many viewers watching the livestream were stunned for a moment after hearing the message, then immediately recalled Du Weihan’s behavior in the haunted house.
【Hahaha, no way! Who would’ve thought that someone as arrogant as Du Weihan is actually afraid of ghosts?】
【Hahahaha, I seriously didn’t expect that either!】
【I’m dying laughing. Now I’m really curious how Su Zhi figured it out!】
Seeing Du Weihan’s furious expression, the director feared that he and Su Zhi might actually tear into each other on the livestream.
He hurriedly smoothed things over, “Alright, now let’s look forward to the content of the three messages received by Su Zhi and Bai Ye.”
At those words, some viewers suddenly realized something was off.
【Wait, did you notice that the total number of messages is nine? That means the werewolf actually sent a message last night!】
The program had never forced the werewolf to send messages. In previous seasons, guests who drew the werewolf card had never sent one.
Yet now, on just the second day of this season, the usually hidden werewolf had taken the initiative!
So who exactly was the werewolf this time?!
