Today, I was summoned to the Room of Choices once again.
Accept the Offer.
Reject the Offer.
Two doors stood before me.
I chose Reject the Offer first.
The scenario behind that door was an incredibly ordinary version of my life.
Just like the one I was living now.
The only difference was that I had earned a fortune from this investment.
I made money, married a beautiful wife, continued to prosper…
And eventually died an ordinary death.
Was that life too ordinary?
This time, I opened the door labeled:
Accept the Offer.
My Beginning Point…
Was an office.
I was staring at a monitor.
It was an investment involving a company called Space A.
It felt as though I had seen the company’s future in a dream.
Inside my mind, another Room of Choices scenario was unfolding.
Huh?
This pattern had never happened before.
Until now, I had never entered the Room of Choices while already inside one of its scenarios.
But this time…
The Room of Choices had appeared inside another Room of Choices.
Within that nested Room of Choices, I invested in Space A and made a fortune. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
Following that choice, I bought Space A shares at ten dollars and sold them at three hundred.
The results were enough to astonish anyone who saw them.
That investment’s success earned me a promotion to partner at William Clair Investment Company.
Three days after becoming a partner, I entered the company lobby.
A woman caught my eye.
The moment our eyes met, she began walking toward me.
“Are you Director Luke Miller?”
Who was she?
I didn’t recognize her.
“Yes, I’m Luke Miller.
Do I know you?”
“My name is Naomi Clair.
I’m Chairman Niall McCormick Clair’s daughter.
Congratulations on your recent promotion to partner.
If you have time sometime, I’d like to hear your thoughts on investing.
I work in the investment division as well.”
“Ah, Miss Naomi.
If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.
I’d be happy to share my thoughts.”
“Then how about tonight?
There’s actually an investment I’d like to ask you about.”
“Sounds good.
Let’s meet at The Pink Door at five.
I’ll make the reservation.”
“All right, Director Miller. New chapters come out on g.com first.
I’ll see you at five.”
She walked away, the confident click of her Prada heels echoing through the lobby.
Dinner with her that evening was genuinely enjoyable.
Naomi kept the conversation flowing with her intelligence and quick wit.
As the atmosphere relaxed, she began talking about the difficulties she was having selecting companies to invest in.
“Miss Naomi, I think that company may have some problems.”
“What kind of problems?”
“They haven’t become public yet, but before long…
Some tax-related issues will come to light.”
“But according to our investigation, that company doesn’t have any problems.”
“Instead of that company, I think you’d be better off taking a closer look at Capital L.”
From that day on, we met at The Pink Door after work.
We spent our evenings discussing investments and chatting about everyday life.
Three weeks passed like that.
Then I was summoned into the Room of Choices within the current scenario.
In other words…
I had been called into yet another Room of Choices from inside a Room of Choices.
Marry Naomi.
Do Not Marry Naomi.
What was this supposed to mean?
I hadn’t even thought about that…
Or had I?
Had I really been thinking about Naomi that much lately?
I opened the door marked Marry Naomi…
And stepped inside.
