They all laughed and he kissed their foreheads as he said this: “Girl or boy…

They both nodded as he playfully ticked them.
Then suddenly the door opened and the midwife came out of the room, her eyes filled with horror at what had just happened.

Before she could utter a word, he ran into the room and stopped looking horrified at what he had just seen.
