Darkness wasn’t just a color anymore; it was a heavy, suffocating weight pressing down on my chest.

One minute, the freezing bite of the concrete floor against my cheek would snap me into a sharp, painful awareness.

The next minute, my brain would tilt, and the entire world would dissolve into an absolute, numb void.Full novel: The Ruined Omega and Her Ruthless King — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I was completely trapped in a vicious loop of coming in and out of consciousness.

Every time I managed to drift back toward the surface, the high-pitched, ringing in my deafened ears made my head throb violently.

I couldn’t move a single finger.

My body felt like a massive bag of wet cement, completely frozen in my own dried blood, waiting for the dark to claim me for good.

I was hardly breathing more like gasping due to the sharp pains in my ribs which were probably shattered beyond repair.

I was surprised I did survived last night after everything I went through I was most surprised when I stared awake in the morning.

I could only tell it was morning because of the shift in the weather.

It was hot now probably from the sun but I still felt cold.

My bones were cold.

The relentless heat of the daylight was baking the corrugated metal sheets of my roof, turning the upper half of my shack into a literal oven, but down here on the foundation, my blood felt like ice water.

The cold from the stone floorboards had crawled straight into my skeleton, thick and heavy, freezing me from the inside out.

My eyes were swollen and shut to the point I couldn’t see anything.

I was totally blind.

I had to relay heavy on my sense of smelling and touch.

It didn’t help that I couldn’t at least move my body to the mattress.

I tried to roll, tried to slide an inch toward the corner where my mattress laid, but my muscles simply refused to fire.

The signals from my brain were completely lost somewhere along my spine, leaving me pinned beneath the weight of my own broken flesh.

I fainted again almost immediately, the dark swallowing me whole.

The sound of foot steps passing behind the storage unit yanked me back to reality.

I realized my ears had stopped ringing but could only hear a tiny bit from my left ears pressing into the concrete.

I was sure the particular ears that Alpha Richard punched at was permanently deafed.

There was a flat, dead silence on the right side of my skull, a scary kind of quiet that made the little bits of noise on my left side sound distant and fuzzy, like they were traveling through thick layers of cotton.

I tried moving my body again but to no avail.

A regular human would had died from all these loss of blood but I had my werewolf gene to thank for that.

No screw it, I wish I was just a regular human so I could succumb to my injuries.

If I were fully human, my heart would have stopped hours ago under the weight of these broken ribs.

I wouldn’t have to keep waking up to face the dark.

How long until someone noticed I was missing?

How long until someone discovers me?

Even though someone did notice I wasn’t there, will they come looking for me?

Do I have to stay here until I could move my limbs?

And Alpha Richard and Beta Jackson didn’t they need me to do something for them?

Wouldn’t they have come looking for their favourite omega?

Can they suddenly survive a single day without me?

These were questions that kept running through my mind that I know well I wouldn’t find the answer to.

They were probably too busy running around like terrified dogs, scrubbing the corners of the packhouse and panicking over the Blood Moon wolves to notice that I was missing.

They probably assumed I was hiding out of fear, or maybe they just didn’t care if I starved to death out here as long as I stayed completely out of their sight.

Well at least I can tick laying in my own pool of blood for days from the list of everything the Silver Ridge Pack has done to me.

It could join the long, miserable inventory of daily beatings, stolen meals, and the constant humiliation they threw at me since the day my parents died.

My mind drifted away into a numb fog for what felt like hours, only to snap back when the metallic creak of my broken door echoed through the shack.

The old rusty hinges groaned as the door shifted on its frame, letting a fresh gust of wind sweep across the concrete.

Someone was inside my room.

I couldn’t make out a single word they were saying because my ear wasn’t stable enough to pick up what was being said, but the footsteps moving across the stone floor were heavy, urgent, and completely foreign.

Panic flared in my throat, but my broken body refused to listen to my brain.

I tried to draw a deep breath to scream, to force some kind of sound past my teeth, but my throat remained completely locked, trapping the panic inside my chest.

Before I can panic some more, the darkness claims me again, and I fainted.

When I regain consciousness again, the first thing I noticed was that I was no longer on the hard concrete anymore.

The rough, freezing bite of the bare stone was gone, replaced by a slightly softer, uneven surface.

I could feel the mattress beneath me and I felt exposed as if I was naked.

The rough, stiff denim of my dirty jeans and the cheap cotton of my shirt were entirely missing from my skin.

The feel of my clothes were long gone and the only fabric I could feel was the one I usually lay on my mattress.

How did I manage to get in bed and take off my clothes??

My brains were still trying to process it when it clicked.

The sound of the broken door.

Someone had come into my room, I wasn’t alone anymore.

The footsteps I heard before fainting hadn’t been a figment of my imagination or a fever dream.

Someone had actively crossed the room, gathered my broken, bloody body up from the dirt floor, and lifted me onto the mattress without me even feeling it.

Paying attention, I could feel the physical sensation of a warm damped cloth gently scrubbing on my body as if it was trying to get the dried, crusty blood off my skin.

The cloth moved slowly across my arms, smoothing over my bruised collarbone and tracing down the length of my torso with an incredible, rhythmic patience.

Someone was in this very room with me tending to my wounds.

I desperately tried to open my eyes but they were shut close and wouldn’t bulge no matter how hard and long I tried.

The thick layer of dried blood and the intense swelling had sealed my eyelids like glue.

I tried to relay heavily on my sense of smell but the harsh scent of medicinal alcohol and blood drowned out everything else in the room.

The sharp, clean sting of the chemical sanitizer filled the air, cutting through the stagnant dust of the storage unit.

I wanted to scream or flinch away, but my body still refused to move.

It refused to obey every command.

My muscles remained completely limp, heavy as lead against the mattress.

My consciousness began to slip, and yet again I went under.

The sudden sharp prick in my arms made me conscious again.

It was a quick, biting sting right into the soft skin of my inner elbow, the unmistakable feel of a needle sinking deep into my vein.

Like someone was injecting something into my system almost immediately a strange cooling wave rushed through my veins.

The fluid felt like liquid ice spreading rapidly out from my arm, traveling straight through my chest and branching down into my legs.

It numbed the agonizing fire in my broken ribs and stopped the painful grinding in my bones.

The constant, stabbing friction that had made every tiny gasp for air a fresh hell began to fade away into a dull, heavy throb.

I felt somewhat better but I was still completely paralyzed, trapped inside my own mind unable to speak or move a finger.

I could hear the faint, rustling sound of medical wrappers being gathered up, followed by a light, quiet step moving back toward the threshold of the room.

The heavy metal door creaked once more, clicking softly as it was pulled shut against the frame, leaving me alone in the quiet of the room.

I don’t know how many hours passed by but I was still trapped in my unmoving body.

The cooling medicine continued to pulse through my veins, keeping the sharpest edges of the pain locked away, but it kept me completely pinned to the sheet.

When I regain consciousness yet again, I could tell I was alone this time.

The heavy, thick air of another person’s presence had entirely vanished from my room.

The presence of the people in the room with me before were all gone replaced by the cold of the night.

The heat of the midday sun had completely disappeared from the metal roof, leaving the air inside my room sharp.

I could hear the distant, lonely whistle of the wind blowing through the pine trees outside, cutting through the cracks in the broken concrete walls.

I couldn’t tell what time of the day it was but judging by the cold wind, it was night time already.

Great, I survived yet another day.

Well this is getting interesting, who do you think is helping her ?
