I was slumped at the bottom of my padded cell, disoriented from an injection and tasering.

Now, however, I was ready.

As I pushed myself up, a surge of rage filled me.Full novel: The Salvatore Saga, Part Five: My Life As Alpha Female. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“This is it,” I declared to our hive mind, “I’m about to unleash my rage, and I’ll share some of it with you.”

Elena responded eagerly, “Give me everything; let it out. I want it; we need it.”

Magnum, also online, chimed in, “Oh, my hummingbird, it’s time to save and time to kill. I want a few Krychecks, and I’ll take my time with them.”

A dark smile spread across my face.

I closed my eyes and let it all out, opening the floodgates of my white-hot rage.

This power surged into me, and then, through our special bond, it spilled into our hive, strengthening our pack.

My darkness roared, as did the part of me that craved torture.

But this was no longer just about quick kills; it was time to savor the moment, to enjoy the hunt, and to save those who needed us.

It would be glorious.

Several Sarks would witness our dismantling of this entire operation.

We would send data to the NSA and let them handle the aftermath while we cleared this place.

However, no Sark would survive, and certainly no Krycheck.

Rising, I walked to the door, transforming into mist and oozing out.

The corridor was empty.

Having just mastered this form, I sent out tendrils of mist, and soon several clouds emerged.

I drifted towards the nearest door, which I promptly kicked open.

Footsteps alerted me as guards rushed in.

“Oh, yummy, victims,” I thought.

The first bullet struck my back, but I merely turned lazily.

“That tickled, you know,” I told the guard.

As I walked towards him, I saw him sweating, his hands trembling as he struggled to muster the courage to fire again.

Elena, Katherine, Mimosa, Shadow, Alaric, and Magnum had already joined me in the corridor.

“Now watch,” I said lazily, “you’ll get to do one soon. Just make your hand like a claw and thrust it in.”

My vampire claws tore through the guard’s armor as if it were cardboard.

My hand sank into him, the warmth and moisture a heady sensation.

He grunted, tensing as he tried to pull my arm away.

I grasped something and pulled it out with a wet, squelching sound, relishing every pained grunt the guard emitted.

Dresden drew closer, and as I held loops of intestines and a portion of spleen, he said, “You promised us poison nails.”

I smirked darkly.

Letting a bit more of my vampire power ooze into the hive, Dresden soon grunted as his fingernails grew, becoming black, thick, and wickedly curved.

More guards arrived, and shots were fired, but soon only the pained grunts and whimpers of our victim were heard as we all plunged and pulled.

Even Tim smiled for real as he killed one particularly nasty, ogling guard who had always leered while watching on the rack.

I felt everyone’s dark pleasure in what we were doing, and it didn’t take long for us to really get going.

It was almost like a competition to see who would get shot most, as pain didn’t register and my amped-up powers allowed us to heal quite well.

Besides, the vampires were feasting with guards, doctors, and scientists, while I was searching for a suitable room to set up our transmission—meaning, to collect victims and teleport them into safety.

Wulfe was feasting as well. Enjoying the story? Read on at novelping.com.

I had no idea what my powers did to him or my darkness; according to him, as he’d said in the past, my darkness was potent enough to affect him as well, given he was an old creature with a rough past.

At one point, I found a dressing room and put on some scrubs, as did others, but soon those scrubs were bloodstained, not so much with our blood as with the blood of our enemies.

And then, I found my jackpot: three Krycheks in one room, planning and discussing something.

With two Sarks, I now felt selfish; these were mine.

I took a breath, letting my pheromones ooze out exceptionally well, and stepped into the room.

“Hello, boys. Surprise! Well, I have something for you, each of you,” I said, walking towards them.

One of the Krycheks pressed a button, and a Sark muttered, “Don’t bother; they’re loose, and this is not good.”

I smiled, predatory, and said, “For me, this is very good; for you, not so much.”

I grabbed the first Krychek and hit him in the neck, causing his eyes to roll back and him to slump down.

I looked at the Sarks and said, “Freeze. Do not kill yourselves; you cannot move.” My vampire compulsion hit them like a ton of bricks.

I had subdued two more Krychecks and was in the process of firmly restraining Sarks, all while adhering to my compulsion not to kill them.

Of course, I undressed each man, and I creatively used the office as a torture chamber, or rather, a place where I restrained my victims.

However, before I could inflict any actual damage, our bond, which had deepened considerably, alerted Charles.

He used it to pinpoint my location, and he arrived with Adam, Elena, Katherine, Mimosa, and Shadow.

The rest of the pack, sensing the disturbance, also became restless and followed Charles.

“Honey, you really should learn how to share.” Charles’s dark croon surprised me.

One of the Krychecks was awake and terrified, as I had lightly used my poison nails on him, causing his skin to blister and boils to form.

“I’m in no mood for sharing, my love. Go on, find your own,” I retorted, then moved to one sark and slashed him too, eliciting the same reaction.

Mimosa walked over and used her poison nails on the Krycheck, causing his skin to turn black and him to writhe in pain.

Mimosa’s unbridled pleasure seemed to resonate throughout the entire hive.

A scream erupted from one sark as Tim plunged his hand into his stomach, felt around as if searching for something to pull out, but withdrew empty-handed.

Constantine approached the wound, spat into it, and muttered something that made me giggle.

A nice cluster of daisies grew from the wound; he was literally pushing up daisies, a testament to the wizard’s sense of humor.

I then turned to the next Krycheck.

Leaning over him, I said, “Oh, you poor thing, unable to feel. Let’s fix that. Lepard, he’s yours. Make him feel.”

Lepard approached the Krycheck, placed his hand on his temples, and focused.

Using his raw, unrestrained telepathy, he forced feelings into the Krycheck’s brain, making him experience loss, pain, love, betrayal, and regret.

However, because Lepard’s telepathy was so raw, it was neither gentle nor harmless, proving quite damaging.

Soon, the Krycheck’s brain became somewhat scrambled, and he muttered incoherently as Lepard withdrew.

We all knew that the cloning spell the Sarks and the Krycheck had created ensured that the next iteration would remember everything the previous one had.

Now, we had just infected the Krychecks with feelings.

While he would recall, the trauma would be less, but the effect would remain.

The future was certainly going to be interesting.

He wouldn’t be cured, of course, but he might become a bit more unstable, paranoid, and less clinically cold.

Of course, Tim and Taylor loved to make Sarks whimper out of pain, Lepard amplifying their pain threshold so it was low as shit, but we did not want to kill them too slowly.

I went to one of Sarks, pried his jaws open, and bit into my wrist, talking in a lazy tone, “Now, you know what you have shoved into me for weeks, and add everything that Krychek has put in, and factor in my physiology, so you surely come up with a result that this blood of mine is rather interesting currently.”

Wulfe, being cold and uncaring, was drawn to my predatory side and came and said, “What are you planning to do with this shithead?”

I let go of my wrist and let one fat droplet of my blood drop into Sarks’s mouth so he could not spit it out, but there was alarm in his gaze.

“Tastes funny, right? Let’s see what it does to you.”

Wulfe moved on; he wanted more gore, more blood, and right now, Krycheck was not his prime target, as his mind was as messed up as it had been. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

Adam came too near me, and he too pried Sark’s mouth open and dropped one drop of his blood into his mouth, making panic flare even more.

Then Adam spat on Sark’s chest; I could smell pear, so there was dental, and soon Sark’s skin turned bright red and full of small wounds that oozed lazily.

His skin felt hard, and each breath split some more.

Adam’s little concoction was actually quite damn painful.

We had time; our darkness wanted to torture, maim, and eventually kill, and we were unleashing our frustration first on these, so we had no hurry.

Each of us walked around the room thinking about what we could do next and whom to do it with, and then we just went and did it.

Sure, we who had fangs and the ability to make dental substances in our sinuses used those as well, but then wizards like Dresden and Constantine used spells, curses, and physical pain too.

Wulfe and other vampires like Alaric, Elena, and Katherine had their ways to torture, whereas Murdock, Dexter, Tim, and Taylor used all kinds of nice and painful nerve pinches or hits into vulnerable places, making our victims suffer a long, long time before dying.

I sometimes used my blood, or some dental, or just physical force, like, say, crushing one Krychek’s entire palm and fingers into a mess, giving then Tim and Taylor a nice toy to play with.

Add there one dental from Charles, which made those shards fused partially but weakly, tissues still being alive, so his hands were crushed and fused over and over again.

We were very inventive, and I had no idea how long it had been since Sark died, painfully, slowly.

Well, Tim had plunged his hand into his liver and smashed it a bit earlier, so internal bleeding took care of that.

But there was a bit more left over, and we continued; now the room reeked of blood, guts, pain, death, horror, and our pleasure.

I crouched in front of one of the Sarks.

Oh, I loved to give them something, a knowledge of what they had no hope of studying.

“You know, you have not yet gotten it. Why are you nervous around us sometimes, and then sometimes it is just fine? Well, let me tell you, it is pheromones, but you, mere human, have no idea about them or any hope of studying them. I have made sure of it. You will see soon. It is nice to know that there is something out there that you do not know, have no freaking hope of studying, and have no clue what it even is.”

Sark was quiet; well, his tongue had been chopped off a few hours earlier.

I had given my tips and tricks for keeping victims alive as long as possible so their suffering would be maximal.

What I meant was I had talked to the NSA about pheromones a long time ago, and they had brought it before Congress, and they had then declared all pheromone studies illegal.

And if anyone was discovered studying those, punishment would be severe, as there was now a supernatural in Congress too.

They had given basic information about pheromones, emphasizing their weaponized use in the wrong hands.

So it had declared not to be touched by anyone, and Sarks had no idea; their fancy lawyers would not have a chance in a snowball in hell trying to get any rights to studying pheromones, especially after this.

Now, one might think that these tapes would surely make us look bad as well, but it was actually the opposite.

I had personally given statements to the NSA, FDA, and many others about my rage and what I would do if I were being tortured, and as I was not human, no human laws applied to me or any of us.

We had our own laws for this, and add to that my status as queen of vampires and Wulfe’s status as crown prince of vampires, which meant that humans would have to be very decisive and so supernaturals that their laws could be trusted too, meaning Sarks would get what was coming to them and for good, no more wiggling out.

Or else vampires would take justice into their own hands, and it would be perfectly suitable if humans failed to bring justice for us, the victims.

So our rampage continued.

After the last of these ones finally died, we moved on.

Oh, so many victims, so much to do, and we were more than ready for this.

Tim said to me, “I mean, this is even more fantastic than I could have imagined. Feel that last spark fade away, knowing and feeling you have the power… oh my god.”

His pupils were pinpoint; he was almost high, and it was all good.

Sure, time for resetting us, meaning knocking us cold for 24 hours, would come soon.

And it would make my rage evaporate and, hopefully, my darkness too.

But moreover, it would give Colin and his team a window to come and fetch us into treatment.

And most likely, he would keep us out cold for some time.

This was just one random idea, as one of the guards had felt brave and shot just five darts into me.

Whatever they had had no effect, as my rage blocked it.

I tilted my head towards my victim and walked towards him, feeling the next set of darts hitting me, the guard cursing and peeing himself as he was frozen with fear.

Oh, yet another perfect victim.
