Yu Jiao wore only a bellyband and felt a stifling heat pressing down on her. Even her breathing felt warm. On top of that, the person beside her was holding her close, making it even hotter.
The man had said that if one wanted to sleep undressed, one could just sleep undressed. Yu Jiao muttered softly, “Clearly, you don’t need to take off your clothes to sleep.”
She recalled how he had been staring at her as she took off each piece, a faintly teasing smile in his eyes that he could not hide. Just thinking about it made her feel both embarrassed and angry.
Chu Yin raised an eyebrow, pretending to be indifferent. If this girl knew how sensitive his ears were, would she dare to complain?
A soft murmuring came from her, and Chu Yin clicked his tongue, wrapping his hands around her slim waist and pulling her closer.
“This Prince, was only watching you undress. Even if you stripped me bare, this Prince, would not be angry.”
“I didn’t strip you bare. There’s still one pair of underpants left,” her soft, Jiao-like voice sounded pitiful.
Chu Yin lazily lifted his head, giving her a peculiar look, then said suddenly, “So it’s my fault for not letting you strip me completely.”
He grabbed her hand, twirling it in his fingers. The girl’s fingers were soft and slender, her nails round and delicate.
After studying them for two seconds, he opened his hand suddenly and placed his own over hers, letting them clasp together.
Yes. His were longer and bigger.
Satisfied, he set it down and guided her hand to the waistband of her underpants. “Strip it. I allow you to strip it. Strip everything.”
Yu Jiao jumped back, her hand jerking away. She instinctively touched her face, feeling her body heat rising even more.
Chu Yin no longer pressed the issue. He rested his head against her front, soft and light as cotton.
“If you don’t strip, then sleep.”
Yu Jiao clicked her tongue. “If I strip, can I stay awake?”
“Hmm, stay awake,” the head against her chest nuzzled, “and do some things that keep you from sleeping.”
“Wh–”
Chu Yin finally grew a little impatient, his tone dark and cold. “Speak again, and I’ll strip your mouth.”
“Eh?” Yu Jiao blinked innocently. “How do you strip a mouth?”
Before she finished, a hand cupped the back of her head. Warm lips pressed against hers. Yu Jiao’s pupils widened, her body tensing completely.
Chu Yin, in a mischievous move, bit her soft, tender lips lightly. A faint tooth mark appeared, and his calloused fingertip pressed on it.
He licked his own lips, glancing at her askew. “Still want to know?”
“N… no more,” Yu Jiao shook her head like a rattle drum.
Chu Yin snorted lightly, returning his head to a comfortable position, coldly saying, “Sleep.”
The breathing beside her was even and long. Yu Jiao thought that once he slept more deeply, she could curl up somewhere to sleep herself. Her thoughts grew hazy as she imagined it.
It wasn’t until the body in her arms softened that Chu Yin opened his eyes, staring at the spot where he had bitten, licking his teeth. His gaze darkened—this little rabbit seemed soft everywhere.
Just then, a metallic taste of blood pricked his throat. He coughed a few times quietly; no blood came out, but the metallic taste lingered.
After a while, he suppressed the tickle and acid in his throat, glancing casually at the face sleeping soundly beside him.
Chu Yin lowered his gaze. A devious thought sprang to mind.
Why could she sleep so peacefully?
Yu Jiao herself did not sleep well. She felt sticky and damp, as if a little dog had snuggled up to her.
Furry, it licked her face and even her lips, leaving her nearly breathless.
Chu Yin licked the corner of her lips, unsatisfied, watching her frown with delight, then rested his head again.
…
The next morning.
Yu Jiao sat up in bed, stretching lazily. The blanket slid down, revealing her bright red bellyband.
She blinked, staring blankly for a moment before slowly realizing she seemed to have dressed as the Princess Consort of Yan.
Memory returned piece by piece. Rubbing her head, she noticed the torn wedding dress on the floor and realized this was her only clothing.
After a moment of hesitation, she walked to the wardrobe. Most of the clothes were red or scarlet. She grabbed a set, adjusted it slightly, and pushed open the door to leave.
She immediately ran into Ying Jue, who had his hand raised to open the door. He froze at the sight of her standing there, wearing Chu Yin’s clothing unscathed, looking as if he had seen a ghost.
Yu Jiao, on the contrary, was delighted when she saw his little fangs and cried out joyfully, “Big brother!”
Ying Jue stepped back two paces, trembling, pointing at her. “Y-you… how are you still alive?”
“Eh?” Yu Jiao looked down at the straw mat he was holding, puzzled. “Big brother, what are you doing with that?”
Ying Jue quickly hid the mat behind him, embarrassed, scratching his head.
He didn’t dare say it was meant for her corpse.
Before he could answer, a loud wail rang out: “I’ll fight you!”
