The amber silence of the waterfall was broken not by a predatory beast, but by the rhythmic, deliberate crunch of gravel.
Vyan opened his eyes to find the old man standing on the slick edge of the violet basin.
He wasn’t leaning on his dark wooden staff today; he stood with a strange, terrifyingly predatory straightness.
His milky, cataract-covered eyes scanned the boy’s radiant aura like a seasoned jeweler inspecting a hidden flaw in a priceless diamond.
”Enough for today, child,” the old man said, his voice easily cutting through the thunderous roar of the cascade.
He placed a withered, heavy hand on Vyan’s shoulder, instantly feeling the steady, rhythmic pulse of the Celestial Spindle spinning beneath the bronze skin.
“You have done a great thing. To refine Prana for a month without the constant crutch of Prana Knots… it shows your soul is constructed of sterner stuff than the city-bred temple acolytes. Your foundation is perfectly set.”
Vyan beamed, the deep physical exhaustion in his limbs instantly replaced by a sharp surge of pride.
He felt remarkably light, his blood humming with a pure, refined warmth he had never known in the jungle wastes.
Together, they turned their backs on the roaring waters and began the trek back to the light-pavilion.
Over a simple lunch of Grotto-fruits that tasted of chilled honey and ambient ozone, the old man began to weave a new, intoxicating story.
”Ownership, Vyan,” he whispered, his sightless gaze fixed toward the infinite horizon.
“This Grotto is a supreme treasure, but it is currently entirely masterless. Long ago, a mysterious visitor graced these halls. When he left, he didn’t just walk away—he left something. He who solves the spatial puzzle of the Stitched Wall becomes the master of the Gilded Horizon. The wind, the light, and the very ground you stand on will obey your command.”
Vyan’s golden eyes lit up, but not with a sudden fire for power or dominion.
He saw a sanctuary.
A home, he thought, a tight, emotional ache squeezing his chest.
A beautiful place where the rain doesn’t bite and the shadows don’t hunt.
Mother, you told me to be neither kind nor unkind…
but look.
Being good really does pay off in the world. This chapter is updated first at novelping.com.
Father was a Lord of Dharma, and now, maybe I can unlock a safe haven for us here.
He quickly shook the heavy thoughts away, his youthful curiosity bubbling over.
“Sir… you mentioned a treasure behind that wall. Could it be an Yantra? What exactly is that? Is it just a powerful sword?”
The old man paused, a thin, dry, and deeply ominous smile touching his cracked lips.
“A sword is just dead metal, Vyan. An Astra is a Divine Blueprint. It is a highly complex lattice of logic, cosmic geometry, and raw power etched directly into the very fabric of your soul. You do not ‘hold’ an Astra; you become it.”
As they finished their meal and began the long, winding walk toward the jagged basalt ridge, the ambient air grew drastically colder, and the lesson deepened.
”There are two grand categories,” Ansh explained, his voice echoing smoothly against the narrowing canyon walls.
“Divine weapons are called Astras, and divine tools used for immense utility are called Yantras. ”First, the Astras can manifest as the weapons of the body.
They violently rewrite your internal biology, capable of turning your skin into impenetrable bronze, transforming your breath into a lethal frost, or sharpening your fingertips into needles of pure, condensed energy.
Astras can also manifest as the weapons of vibration.
They utilize highly sophisticated, resonant frequencies to shatter a foe’s Spindle from the inside out or completely rewrite the fundamental laws of the room you stand in.”
He paused momentarily to navigate a narrow, groaning bridge of hardened violet mist.
”And finally, Astras can be the weapons of geometry—complex, macro-machines of Prana that can manifest as floating aerial fortresses, impenetrable energy shields that can cover an entire city, or massive siege engines that rain liquid fire from the sky.
Just as a Yogi has grades from one to six, so do the Astras.
A Grade 1 Astra is a simple combative tool; a Grade 6 Astra is a cataclysmic force of nature.”
And once this foolish boy unlocks that wall, the old man thought, his cold gaze tracking Vyan’s enthusiastic, determined stride, I will personally ensure that if there is an Astra or a Yantra hidden inside, it is etched into my soul, not his. This story is hosted at novelping . com.
All this grooming, all this sickening ‘kindness’…
it is merely the cheap price of an eternal kingdom.
”And what of the second category, humble old sir?” Vyan asked, turning his head, entirely oblivious to the predatory thoughts swirling inches away.
“The Yantras?”
”Ah, the Yantras,” Ansh murmured, a touch of genuine awe slipping into his tone.
“If an Astra is a weapon, a Yantra is a divine machine of ultimate utility. They are instruments forged to manipulate reality itself for the user’s convenience. A low-grade Yantra might be a compass that tracks the flow of Prana veins across a continent, or a vessel that purifies toxic water. But a high-grade Yantra… a high-grade Yantra can be a spatial ring that holds an entire mountain range within a pocket of air, an engine that accelerates the growth of spirit-plants by a hundred fold, or a mechanical chariot that sails through the cosmic void between worlds. They are the supreme tools of the ancient sages.”
As the artificial sun of the Grotto began to dim, bleeding into a deep, heavy indigo, the terrain dramatically warped.
The lush, vibrant greenery of the lower slopes completely gave way to jagged, obsidian-black basalt that seemed to pulse with a faint, rhythmic inner light.
They finally stood before it: the Stitched Wall.
The massive crack in the stone didn’t look natural at all.
Up close, it resembled a jagged, glowing golden scar that had been violently forced open and then meticulously sewn shut by invisible, high-frequency hands.
”We are here,” the old man said, his heart hammering wildly against his ribs with a manic, intoxicating greed he could barely hide.
He turned his blank, white eyes toward the boy.

Just a quick heads-up before you dive in: Main charcater’s ascent isn’t rushed.
The early thirty chapters focus heavily on atmospheric world-building and character depth.
It is a slow, steady climb—but once the descent into the madness of the Kaliyuga begins, the narrative pace accelerates rapidly.
Your patience will be richly rewarded.
