The tall man, who looked to be about one-point-nine meters, charged at Li Yang without a second word.
Li Yang didn’t bother with words either. Seeing the man charge, he threw a punch.
The man didn’t take Li Yang’s punch seriously at all.
’A contest of strength? Are you even worthy?’
And then, their fists collided.
BOOM!
The large man was sent flying backward. He crashed to the ground and couldn’t get back up.
"You!" the man in the suit exclaimed in horror.
Li Yang appeared before him in an instant. Placing a hand on the man’s shoulder, he asked coldly, "Is a hundred thousand enough now?"
The man in the suit felt as if a mountain was crushing his shoulder, making it hard to breathe.
"Friend..." He forced a laugh. "This was all a misunderstanding. A hundred thousand is plenty."
Seeing the man knew what was good for him, Li Yang removed his hand. "I don’t want to see you in our village again. If I do, I’ll beat you every single time."
Li Yang’s words were arrogant, but the man in the suit didn’t dare to object.
He knew how tough his henchman was, yet the man hadn’t even lasted a single punch against Li Yang.
’What the hell was the point of fighting him?!’
"Yes, yes, of course! We’re leaving right now!" With that, he scurried away.
The villagers murmured in amazement.
"He just killed a wild boar for us, free of charge!" Li Yang grinned, looking at the carcass on the ground.
You had to admit, the big guy was impressive, killing a wild boar all by himself.
Li Dahai came over. "Xiaoyang, this isn’t good. That’s four boars dead now. The ones up on the mountain are acting like they’ve gone mad. I don’t know if they’re trying to get revenge, but they’re coming closer and closer to the village to forage for food!"
"They are?" Li Yang stood up, suddenly on alert.
"That’s right!" Li Dahai nodded. "And don’t you remember that night? There were a lot more boars behind them. I bet they’re all part of the same sounder!"
"Let’s go take a look." Li Yang took a deep breath. If that was true, this was a situation they couldn’t afford to take lightly.
When they reached the foot of the mountain, they saw that many of the vegetable patches had been devoured, and the ground was a mess of crisscrossing hoofprints.
So many boars really had come down.
"This is bad," Li Dahai said, worried. "I’m afraid the boars might attack us. If that happens, it’ll be a disaster."
"What’s your conservative estimate? How many boars were there that night?" Li Yang asked after a moment of thought.
"At least thirty!" Li Dahai said with certainty. "And there are probably lots of sounders like that up on the mountain. They’re this brazen about coming down when there’s plenty of food in the summer. Imagine what’ll happen in the winter when they’re starving. They might come right into the village to steal our food. They’ll attack people."
Li Dahai had lived through times like that before.
"Maybe we should report this to the township government," Li Dahai suggested. "Let them figure out a way to kill the boars."
"Let them kill them?" Li Yang mused.
Just then, his phone rang. It was Han Qiuyue, and she sounded excited.
"President Li, the wild boar is selling incredibly well at the hotel! It’s become our must-order signature dish, especially paired with your oyster mushrooms. The flavor is out of this world! Do you have any more? I need you to get me a few more! We have so many people booking banquets now, and they all insist on ordering this dish. It’s flying off the shelves!"
"Oh, I have some," Li Yang said, a sly grin spreading across his face as he glanced toward the mountain. "Lots of them. At least a few dozen."
"That many?" Han Qiuyue was thrilled. "I’m coming over to take a look right now. Don’t go anywhere!"
After hanging up, Li Yang chuckled and said, "Uncle Hai, if we let the township government handle this, they’ll kill the boars, but we won’t get to keep them. Each one is worth over ten thousand yuan. It’d be a shame to let that go to waste."
Li Dahai felt a stir of excitement.
The incredible image of Li Yang taking down three boars by himself that day was still fresh in his mind. He was just too powerful.
"Xiaoyang, do you have a plan?"
"The hotel already placed an order. They said they’ll take as many boars as we can get!" Li Yang grinned. "This is too good an opportunity to pass up. We’d regret it forever. So it’s settled. I’m going to take care of these boars one way or another."
"Alright!" Li Dahai said, steeling his resolve. "Let’s do it together."
It wasn’t long before Han Qiuyue arrived. To his surprise, she had a stylishly dressed young woman with her.
She was nearly one-point-seven meters tall and wore leather pants that showed off her long, straight legs. She radiated an aura of youthful vitality.
She was also decked out in designer brands from head to toe. Clearly, she was wealthy.
More importantly, she was holding the leash of a large, intimidating dog.
"The scenery in this village is pretty nice!" the young woman said, looking around. "So, where are the wild boars? Let’s go see them, cousin!"
"Susu!" Han Qiuyue said with a sigh. "What’s the rush? Besides, we’re not the ones going up the mountain to hunt them!"
"Manager Han!" Li Yang called out, hurrying over to greet her.
"That’s too formal," Han Qiuyue corrected him. "I’m older than you, so just call me Sister Han from now on. And I’ll call you Xiaoyang."
"Alright, Sister Han." Li Yang readily agreed.
"Wow, you warm up fast. Stop trying to get so chummy with my cousin!" the young woman said, glaring at Li Yang with displeasure.
"Susu!" Han Qiuyue’s expression hardened. She turned to Li Yang with an apologetic look. "Xiaoyang, I’m sorry. This is my cousin, Qin Susu. She insisted on tagging along when she heard there were wild boars here."
’Ah, a spoiled little rich girl,’ Li Yang thought.
Li Yang nodded, deciding not to stoop to her level. He pointed toward Daqing Mountain behind them. "The sounder we’ve spotted has at least thirty boars."
Thirty boars!
Han Qiuyue practically saw countless dollar signs waving at her.
If there were really that many, she wouldn’t have to worry about her supply chain.
"Is there a way to catch them?" Han Qiuyue asked.
"What’s so hard about it, cousin?" Qin Susu piped up. "They’re just wild boars. Just hire some people to surround them and hack them to death."
Li Yang was so exasperated he had to laugh.
Li Dahai shook his head. ’City kids,’ he thought. ’They have no idea how ferocious a wild boar can be.’
"Do you think wild boars are toys?" Li Yang said irritably. "We don’t have hunting rifles. Do you have any idea how hard it is with just blades and spears? Back in the day, even when we had homemade shotguns, you had to be extremely careful. One shot was rarely enough to kill a boar. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, then don’t spout nonsense."
"You!" Qin Susu was furious. She planted her hands on her slender waist. "Who are you to say I don’t know anything? I’ll have you know I’ve been hunting before! Dahuang, get him!"
With that, she let go of the leash.
The big dog, as if understanding her command, charged straight for Li Yang.
"Susu, what are you doing?! Stop it, now!" Han Qiuyue shouted, completely aghast.
Li Yang hadn’t expected the girl’s temper to be so foul that she’d unleash her dog over a simple disagreement. He was startled for a moment, then annoyance flared into anger. He glared at the approaching dog. ’You mutt,’ he thought, ’I dare you to fucking bite me.’
The large dog came at him menacingly, its jaws open, ready to bite.
But when it saw the look in Li Yang’s eyes, the dog actually grew fearful. It halted its attack and took two steps back.
"Kneel!" Li Yang roared at the dog.
With a whimper, the big dog’s front legs immediately buckled, and it knelt on the ground. It lowered its head, looking up at Li Yang with a fawning expression.
’My God!’
Even Li Yang himself was stunned.
In that instant, he had somehow understood the dog’s thoughts.
’This... Am I a beast tamer now?’
