A wild boar weighing over three hundred pounds, combined with the force of its impact—if Li Yang’s body hadn’t been strengthened by that drop of water, he would have already been coughing up blood.
But even so, he had been hit hard.
BAM!
He fell to the ground, still holding Qin Susu.
"Xiaoyang!" Li Dahai and Li Jianzhong’s hearts both skipped a beat.
"I’m fine!" Li Yang set Qin Susu aside. "Hurry up and get to your cousin."
Qin Susu was a little stunned.
"Run!" Li Yang glared at her.
Dahuang ran over, nipped at Qin Susu’s pant leg, and started dragging her back.
By now, the wild boars had charged over.
Clearly, they had now made Li Yang their target.
"Run!" Li Dahai and Li Jianzhong shouted desperately at Li Yang.
Li Yang was an orphan; he was the only one left in his family.
He had lost his wits a year ago, but at least he was still alive.
Now that he was well, if anything happened to him, their consciences would torment them for the rest of their lives.
"You’re insane! Li Yang, you’ve gone mad!" Li Dahai’s entire body was trembling. "If you die, how will I ever face your father!"
Han Qiuyue was scared speechless.
’Thirty wild boars! Even if he can handle one, how can he possibly fight the rest?’
"Stop!" Li Yang was trembling inside, but he gritted his teeth, shut his eyes, and let out a furious roar at the boars.
In that instant, he felt himself enter a mysterious and profound state.
He suddenly knew everything the wild boars were thinking.
’Food! Too many other boars up the mountain. We can’t compete with them, so we have to come down here to find our own!’
’That’s the one who killed our companion!’
...
The boars’ thoughts flooded into Li Yang’s mind, and he understood them perfectly.
Han Qiuyue had already shut her eyes. She couldn’t bear to watch.
Qin Susu stood frozen, a complex expression on her face.
But just then, when the boars were only a few feet away from Li Yang, the entire herd suddenly skidded to a halt, staring at him with bewildered eyes.
It was as if the world had fallen silent.
Li Yang slowly opened his eyes.
His forehead was drenched in sweat, though he couldn’t tell if it was from the intense concentration or sheer terror.
’It worked!’
Seeing the boars standing still, Li Yang knew his gamble had paid off.
"Follow me!" Li Yang wiped the sweat from his brow and sprinted toward a nearby valley.
Incredibly, the wild boars actually followed him.
The entire herd of thirty boars ran after Li Yang through the fields.
"My god!" Li Dahai rubbed his eyes. "Am I seeing things? Has Xiaoyang gone mad, or have these boars lost their minds?"
"I think... maybe we’re the ones who’ve gone mad," Li Jianzhong said in a daze.
The tension finally broke, and Han Qiuyue let out a long, slow breath, feeling her entire body go limp with relief.
That had been far too close.
"Huh, is that guy some kind of animal?" Qin Susu said with a tactless gasp as she rejoined Han Qiuyue. "Why else would all these animals listen to him?"
"Stop it!" Han Qiuyue shot her a glare. "If something had happened to him just now, how could you ever live with yourself?"
Qin Susu snorted. "It’s his own fault for bullying my Dahuang. Besides, he’s fine, isn’t he?"
Han Qiuyue strained her eyes, peering into the darkness. She could just make out Li Yang leading the thirty-odd wild boars into the distance.
Soon, he was out of sight, and only the thunder of hooves remained.
Li Dahai and Li Jianzhong, emboldened, followed after them.
RUMBLE... The thirty-odd boars obediently entered a funnel-shaped valley. It had only one entrance, and the other sides were all steep, unclimbable slopes.
Once inside, there was no escape except through the entrance.
"Uncle Hai, go cut down some trees!" Li Yang grinned as he watched the last of the boars enter. "If we block this entrance, they won’t be able to get out!"
Li Dahai strode forward happily and clapped Li Yang on the shoulder. "Attaboy! You’re really something else. You scared me half to death back there!"
The three men shared a smile.
They chopped down a number of trees and barricaded the entrance securely.
"There’s some food for them in there, but it looks like it won’t last long," Li Yang said. "How about this, Uncle Hai, Brother Jianzhong, I’ll have to trouble you to watch over these boars for the next few days. When they run out of food, just cut some fodder for them. We can’t let them starve."
"Don’t you worry!" Li Dahai was in high spirits. With this many boars, at fifteen thousand yuan a head, they were looking at over four hundred thousand yuan.
That was a fortune!
"Alright, let’s head back," Li Yang said. The intense stress from earlier had left him feeling surprisingly tired.
The three men headed back to meet Han Qiuyue and Qin Susu, and they all returned together.
"Are you hurt?" Han Qiuyue’s first words to Li Yang were filled with concern.
"I’m fine," Li Yang shook his head. "These boars are surprisingly obedient."
"How did you do that?" Han Qiuyue couldn’t help but ask.
Li Yang thought for a moment. "I just... told them to. You heard me, right? I have no idea why they listened to me."
"You’re just an animal yourself!" Qin Susu said snidely. "The king of beasts! Why else would those wild boars listen to you? And my dog, too. He must think he’s met his ancestor."
Li Yang was speechless.
"What are you talking about?" Han Qiuyue cut her off. "If you hadn’t wandered off, Xiaoyang wouldn’t have been in such danger in the first place! Apologize to him."
"I will not! He bullied my Dahuang!" Qin Susu said stubbornly.
Han Qiuyue was at a complete loss with her cousin and could only give Li Yang a wry smile.
Li Yang didn’t mind. ’A spoiled princess like her has probably never respected me anyway,’ he thought. ’Why waste my breath arguing?’
Back in the village, Li Dahai and Li Jianzhong went off to bed.
"You two can sleep in here. Sorry it’s a bit rustic," Li Yang said, leading them to the room that had once belonged to his parents.
"It’s so old," Qin Susu said, displeased. "Cousin, let’s go into town and find a hotel."
"What are you talking about?" Han Qiuyue said. "This is perfectly fine. If you want to go, go by yourself."
Qin Susu had no choice but to reluctantly agree to stay.
During the crisis, Li Yang had expended too much energy and been under immense stress. As a result, all he wanted to do when he got home was sleep.
But since he hadn’t showered, he slept fitfully and woke up after only an hour or so.
He was covered in sticky sweat, so he decided to take a quick shower before going back to sleep.
Still half-asleep, he pushed open the bathroom door, only to be met by a sharp scream from within.
"You... You pervert! Get out!"
The scream shocked Li Yang wide awake. He glanced inside and saw Qin Susu, completely naked, in the middle of her shower.
Li Yang stared, dumbfounded.
’Her figure is incredible,’ he thought. ’And she’s seriously well-endowed.’
’This is... a killer body!’
"Are you still looking?! Get out!" Qin Susu shrieked.
