The cold reality weighed heavily on her.
The plane ride and crash wasn’t a dream.
She certainly boarded the plane to Paris, and the emergency was real.
Her senses confirmed it.
The sights and sounds she experienced were vividly etched in her mind.
Then what?
Why was she in the middle of Grand Canyon?
As Heesoo looked around, she froze.
Smoke was rising in the distance.
She noticed smoke from other distant areas as well.
Either there was a fire, or there were people.
It was a sign of hope.
But as she smiled in relief, Heesoo saw something bizarre.
Turning slowly, she became as stiff as a rock.
‘My shadow…
There are two of them.’
It was unbelievable.
Lost in this nonsensical situation, Heesoo moved around to check her shadows.
One large, one small.
Both of them were definitely all hers.
Looking for a logical answer, Heesu gazed upward at the sky, where the blazing sun was setting.
Heesoo frowned at the sunset, then turned a bit more to the left.
It was that moment, her eyes widened out of utter shock.
There was another, smaller sun on the left.
A world with two suns.
This wasn’t the Grand Canyon, nor was it a world she was familiar with.
It was a place―or world―that she had never been or even heard of.
Is this place…?“
What she just saw contradicted all laws of physics and gravity she had learned, which were based on the premise of one sun and one moon.
How could such a world exist?
Heesoo stood silently and looked at the sky for a while.
Time passed until her clothes were completely dry, and the larger sun began to set with the smaller one trailing behind.
Then….
Two moons rose.
Heesoo laughed wryly at the absurdity.
“Have I finally gone mad…?”
Accepting the fact that she was in a world with two suns and two moons took quite some time for Heesoo.
‘I must be dead.’
Initially, she concluded that she had died in a plane crash.
The blazing sun, the hot and humid air, and the occasional breeze.
Her senses were sharp.
Yet, it was hard for Heesoo to accept a world with two suns and moons.
‘Maybe I’m in heaven…?‘
She had been taught that the world after death consisted of heaven and hell.
She hadn’t lived a life bad enough to end up in hell, so she thought this place must be heaven.
Heesoo aimlessly walked around to explore.
Thinking she was already dead made her fearless.
But Heesoo wasn’t dead yet.
She would soon realize this dreadful fact in the most painful way she could imagine.
* * *
Heesoo’s throat was parched.
After pondering, she decided to head down to what looked like a forest.
Where there were trees, there had to be water.
She walked for a while.
Fortunately, it wasn’t too dark even at night, thanks to the two moons.
It was quite cold, though.
The forest was ordinary.
Aside from the two suns and moons, everything weren’t that different from the world that Heesoo came from.
Wandering alone, Heesoo unexpectedly encountered someone.
“Oh my! You! You were here!”
It was a foreigner who had sat next to her on the plane.
Finally, she had met someone familiar in this strange place.
Heesoo hugged him with joy, sharing the happiness of their reunion.
“You’re alive!”
“So are you!”
They talked a lot, sharing stories and experiences.
Like her, he knew nothing.
But Heesoo thought she had died, while the foreigner shook his head in disagreement.
“If you were dead, how could you feel all this?”
“You’re right… You have a point.”
Heesoo nodded unconsciously.
The foreigner smiled as he extended his hand.
“See? Can you feel it?”
At first, it was his hand.
He grabbed and released Heesoo’s hand.
The sensation was, of course, clear.
His grip even felt a bit too strong.
“You can feel everything, right?”
“Okay, I get it. I… think that’s enough.”
Remembering their first meeting and the conversations they had shared, Heesoo pulled her hand back with a polite gesture.
She considered him merely a chance encounter on her journey, a companion they could rely on through unexpected adversity.
But he had other ideas.
“We’re the only ones here. This isn’t Earth but a completely different world. You understand?”
In this place, he could do anything without facing punishment.
Far from any judicial system, it was a completely foreign world.
Moreover, it was a dark forest with just the two of them.
“What… What are you thinking…?”
The moment Heesoo sensed his strange gaze and turned around, it happened.
“Aaah!”
He swiftly climbed over her and began to undress her.
“Aaaaaaah! Help! Somebody help me! Let go of me, you… Mmph!”
As Heesoo screamed, he covered her mouth.
“Mmph! Mmmph!”
No matter how much she struggled, she couldn’t overcome the strength of a grown man pinning her down to the ground.
It was a dreadful situation, feeling even more real than the plane crash.
Just as he was trying to remove her jeans, an unfamiliar voice reached their ears.
“Où as-tu trouvé la fille? (Where’d you snag that chick?)”
