Miracle?
Elia thought back at what Mira had said as she entered the villa carrying her suitcase.
It was overwhelming and something that she didn’t deserve.
Her goal right now was to complete this absurd contract, get her life together, and leave this place.
She had no luxury to think about others.
Talking about leaving, Elia didn’t understand why Samuel and Eros were still here.
They were lounging on the couch while a servant was mopping the floor, and only a corner of the house in particular.
Eros perked up as soon as he saw her.
He rushed to her and snatched her luggage away before she could protest.
She looked dazed as he easily carried it to the stairs and into the room where she was supposed to stay.
Meanwhile, Samuel kept his eyes on his laptop and didn’t bother to look up.
“Hey,” Elia greeted him briefly before heading up the stairs.
And only when she disappeared from his sight did, he look up.
He took a whiff of her scent, but frowned when a strong perfume scent hit him instead.
Humans and their obsession with dousing themselves with artificial scents was sickening.
Samuel felt his mate, in particular, didn’t need any of that.
Her natural scent was already a delight.
Again!
Again, he was doing the same thing.
Addressing her as his mate in his mind, she was not his mate!
Never will be.
He angrily closed the laptop as he glanced at the one cleaning the floor.
“That’s enough. You can leave” The pack help, left as he picked up the bloodied water bucket.
It had been Eros’ doing.
He was messy, handling Andrew like that when Elia could have returned at any point.
She already looked at them like monsters; seeing Andrew in that condition would just cement her view of them.
Samuel didn’t want any complications such as that for the next six months.
He wanted the contract to be completed without any hurdles.
That also means keeping Eros away from the human woman.
He and his wolf were impulsive and emotional.
Sam didn’t want Eros causing problems.
As Sam got up from his seat and started walking up the stairs, he heard the two inside the room laughing.
“You don’t have to do that, I can manage, Eros.”
“I want to help…!”
“Wait! Let me…. Ah!” Elia’s voice rang inside the room, followed by the two bursting into laughter.
When Samuel reached the door, he saw his brother and Elia both on the floor, covered in heaps of clothes, laughing.
“Haha…” Elia chuckled, “My friend and I barely managed to put all the clothes inside it; you should have opened it slowly.”
“How would I know about that?” Eros said, laughing with her, “You should have warned me.”
“You don’t have the patience to listen, Eros.
Admit it,” Elia chastised him while he raised his hand in surrender, “I just wanted to help you.”
“Well, now help me fold all these clothes,” She said, her hands on her waist, “Quickly.” You are reading on g.com, the official source.
“Okay, calm down, I’ll do it.”
Then the duo fully ignored Sam as they started to fold the clothes.
One day…It hasn’t even been one day, and she already has Eros wrapped around her finger.
They shouldn’t be this comfortable with one another; it was counterproductive to their plans.
“Ros?”
Eros looked at the door where his brother stood, and the smile on his face died down.
He clenched his jaw and glared at Sam.
His intent was clear in his eyes.
He wanted Sam to leave and not interrupt.
But Sam refused to abide by the cue as he parted his lips, “I have something important to say to you, come out, Ros.”
Elia glanced between the brothers and at last at her half-folded dress in Eros’ hand.
She quickly tugged it out of his hand before saying, “Go on, Eros. I can manage this on my own.”
As soon as she said those words, Eros jolted in his place and gazed at her, “But you said you needed me.” It came out too desperate as he tried to reach her, and Elia noticed that.
The air suddenly shifted inside the room.
The way he looked at her with that crazed gaze made her involuntarily glance at Samuel.
The casual moment they had just a few minutes ago seemed to have disappeared in a whiff.
Elia laughed awkwardly, “I think you should leave, Samuel….?” She glanced once again at the door, silently begging him to step in.
“Ros”
“Shut the fuck up!” Eros blew up as soon as Samuel tried to intervene.
He snarled at his brother as his blue eyes turned molten gold, “Don’t provoke me, Sam. Stay out of it.”
Then his eyes landed on Elia.
Her eyes were wide as saucers as she flinched when she felt Eros leaning towards her.
She bent back, trying to put as much distance as she could.
“Why do you keep pushing me away?” Eros asked too calmly that it sent chills down her spine, “You were happy and comfortable with me just a few moments ago. What changed? Tell me, Elia.”
She gasped when he abruptly snatched away the dress in her hand and pulled her to sit properly.
Then he smiled.
A clear and content look on his face, “I’ll help you just like I promised. We can go back to how we were before, Sam, you can leave”
The flip in his personality filled her with dread.
One moment, he was angry, and the other calm, too calm.
Elia’s hand shook in terror.
She breathed in and out roughly as she looked at the maniac in front of her.
Psychological tears gathered in her eyes as she looked at Samuel for help.
As soon as Sam saw that look on her face, something snapped inside him.
“You goddamn fucker!” He yelled at Eros as he stepped toward him.
He pulled his brother up by his collar, “Come to your senses before I kill you!”
While his brother raged, Eros still had Elia’s dress in his hand, and he was calmly folding it as though everything was normal.
He looked broken.
Samuel’s eyes softened when he saw Eros like that.
He forced himself to stay calm and said, “You are scaring her, Ros.”
Those words got Eros’ attention. Get faster updates on g.com.
His eyes were still out of focus as he looked up, “I was just trying to help her…. She is my mate. She….she doesn’t know what I’m feeling”
Eros looked at Elia huddling in the corner, looking scared, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Please just leave…”
Before Sam and Elia could blink, Eros reached for her, making her scream, “Stay away!”
Elia felt her words dying out when he clasped her chin.
He cradled her cheek in his warm palm as he searched her face, “Don’t get scared, look at me.
Elia?” He called softly, “Please look at me.”
When she looked directly at his face, he smiled, seemingly content with her compliance.
His wolf hummed in satisfaction as he had her complete attention.
She felt so soft in his arms.
He bent down and kissed her chin, right on her mole, “My mate….” He whispered, “Mine.”
Elia felt like she would faint.
She tried to push him with all her might, but to no avail.
His vice-like grip tightened on her the more she tried to pull away, “Don’t,” Eros warned her, “Don’t push me away” The threat in his voice made her freeze.
She felt him caress her head as she tightly closed her eyes.
“I took care of, Andrew”
That made her snap her eyes open, “What?”
Eros continued to trace her face with his thumb as he continued, “The bastard that dared to touch you, I took care of him.”
He said that as though he was expecting her praise.
Elia took a shuddering breath and asked, “What did you do?”
“Don’t worry, I didn’t kill him.” He said, “I just taught him a lesson, he doesn’t deserve to die so easily” which made him turn to his brother, “Right, Sam?
Anger settled inside her.
Elia wrenched his hand away from her face and glanced at Samuel, “You knew this?”
His silence was an answer in itself.
Elia was in disbelief, “You people are insane.” That was an understatement, but she didn’t know what else to say.
Did they think themselves above the law and order?
What Andrew did was wrong, but who were they to punish him?
“Mr. Donovan,” She glared at Sam, “I know I can’t leave before the contract is fulfilled, I know that much, but please…. keep me away from this place’s madness. I will not get involved more than this and keep your brother away from me,” Those last words? she said, looking at Eros.
Her rejection made Eros waver.
He looked at her with longing, but controlled himself from touching her.
He didn’t want to leave, but he had no more courage left.
He was afraid that he would react more violently if she continued to reject him.
His wolf whimpered, wanting to soothe his mate, but Eros took a step back.
Then he walked out of the room, leaving Elia and his brother alone.
Samuel hesitated as he looked at her, “I’ll make sure this doesn’t repeat.”
Elia turned away, ignoring him as he too left the room.
