Night began to shroud Konoha Village. One by one the street lamps lit up, driving away the cold that was slowly creeping in between the houses and the trees.
The village’s main road was still crowded. The merchants had not yet closed their stalls, children were running around laughing, while some ninja had just finished their missions and were returning home or eating at a diner.
Yuji walked side by side with his father, Uchiha Sagato. The boy’s steps were steady and balanced. There was no more staggering body or visible weariness on his face.
Four hours of rest at the hospital turned out to be enough to restore his entire condition.
The doctor even shook his head in disbelief.
"Your chakra has fully recovered. There is no muscle or tissue damage. Your recovery speed far exceeds that of a normal patient."
Yuji himself had been worried about the side effects of Lightning Mode. However, that worry turned out to be for nothing. His already strong physical foundation, plus the awakening of the Three Tomoe Sharingan, and the surge of his chakra to jonin level made his body able to adapt very quickly.
Sagato still glanced at his son several times.
"Are you really all right?"
"Yes."
Yuji’s answer remained short as usual. He stretched both of his shoulders, which were still wrapped in thin bandages.
"The effects of Lightning Mode are gone. In fact... my body feels much lighter."
Sagato nodded slowly.
"If that’s the case, thank goodness."
They continued on their way toward the Uchiha Clan compound.
The night wind blew gently. The scent of ramen, yakitori, and dango from the row of stalls made anyone’s stomach crave food.
Yuji’s stomach rumbled too.
"..."
"..."
Sagato turned his head.
"Was that a frog sound?"
"That was my stomach."
"I almost used a beast-catching jutsu."
Yuji just kept a flat expression.
His father’s humor was still not funny.
After a few steps, Yuji opened the conversation again.
"Father, does the Clan Head already know everything?"
Sagato nodded.
"Fugaku-sama received a direct report from other clan members this afternoon. He asked you to come after your condition recovered. Tomorrow morning we will meet him."
"Why not tonight?"
"Because you need rest."
Sagato paused for a moment before continuing.
"And... I also need time to prepare myself mentally."
Yuji raised one eyebrow.
"Fugaku-sama was quite shocked. A six-year-old child who was able to defeat two Chunin at once... that has never happened in the history of the Uchiha Clan."
Yuji exhaled softly.
"Troublesome attention."
"That’s the price of being a genius."
"No discount?"
"No."
"Can I pay in installments?"
"Also no."
Yuji gave up. The ninja world really was cruel. Even the popularity tax couldn’t be negotiated.
Not long after they arrived at the gate of the Uchiha compound.
Two guard shinobi immediately saluted.
"Young Master Yuji! We’ve heard the news. Congratulations on your victory."
Yuji only nodded politely.
As they walked into the compound, many clan members stopped their activities to look at Yuji. Some whispered in admiration, some others looked disbelieving.
"Is it really him who defeated two Chunin?"
"And he’s only six..."
"At that age I was still afraid to be sent shopping alone."
Yuji pretended not to hear.
A few minutes later they arrived at the house.
Before Sagato could even knock, the door was already wide open.
"Yuji!"
Yumi Uchiha immediately ran out.
Her hair was a little messy. Her eyes were still damp from crying too much.
Without saying anything, she immediately hugged her son tightly.
But a few seconds later she quickly let go of the hug when she realized Yuji didn’t wince in pain at all.
"You... can stand?"
"Yes, Mother."
"You’re really healed?"
"Yes."
"You’re not lying?"
"No."
"You’re not pretending to be strong?"
"If I were pretending to be strong, I’d be unconscious by now."
Yumi finally wiped her tears while smiling in relief.
"Thank goodness..."
Her gaze then slowly shifted toward Sagato.
The aura around her immediately changed.
Sagato spontaneously took one step back.
"I’m not at fault."
"I haven’t even asked you yet."
"..."
Yuji closed his eyes.
Rank-S Mission started.
Objective: Save Father from Mother’s Wrath.
Success rate: 2%.
The next hour turned into a family interrogation session.
Yuji sat up straight at the dining table.
Next to him, Sayaka kept watching him with a curious look.
Meanwhile Yumi kept feeding Yuji a large bowl of miso soup without stopping.
"Eat."
"Mother, I can eat by myself."
"Quiet."
"Yes, Mother."
Yuji’s survival instinct activated immediately.
Even fighting two Chunin felt easier than arguing with his mother.
Yuji began to tell everything.
Starting from being bored at the Ninja Academy, skipping class, training in the Forest of Death, to meeting two intruders from Sunagakure.
Of course...
The version he told had been censored by about fifty percent.
System? Secret.
The plan from the beginning? Secret.
When he got to the part where the Fireball burned both Chunin, Yumi slowly stopped her spoon.
"You... killed both of them?"
Yuji was silent for a few seconds.
"...Yes."
The room suddenly went quiet.
Then Yumi took her son’s hand.
"Mother isn’t proud because you killed 2 chunin"
Yuji lowered his head.
"But Mother is very grateful... that you came home safe."
Yumi’s voice trembled a little.
"The ninja world is very cruel. Never think you can’t die."
Yuji nodded slowly.
"I understand, Mother."
Beside him, Sayaka chimed in while chewing on fried chicken.
"Strong but stupid big brother."
"Am I being praised or insulted?"
"Insulted."
"Oh,, Thank you?"
"Don’t go into the Forest of Death again, you haven’t even graduated yet," Yumi continued.
"I promise." Yumi answered.
Sagato exhaled in relief.
Thank goodness.
Tonight’s lecture only lasted one hour. And it was only for Yuji, he was safe.
The night grew later.
Yuji returned to his room.
His body felt very light.
He immediately opened the system screen.
Uchiha Yuji Status
Chakra : 112 (Equivalent to Jōnin)
Ninjutsu : 80
Taijutsu : 70
Genjutsu : 90
Strength : 85
Agility : 90
Stamina : 74
"Stamina increased quite a lot..."
Yuji nodded in satisfaction.
The Three Tomoe Sharingan was truly extraordinary.
It not only improved observation ability, but also reflexes, body coordination, and chakra usage efficiency.
He tried jumping a few times.
His body felt much lighter.
Every movement felt natural.
"If it’s like this... the power of the Sharingan truly deserves to be feared."
Feeling satisfied, Yuji finally fell asleep.
For the first time after that battle, he slept without nightmares.
The next morning, Yuji woke up feeling refreshed.
After breakfast, he left with Sagato for the main residence of the Uchiha Clan.
In the main living room, Fugaku was already waiting.
Next to him sat a boy about three years old.
Itachi.
The boy’s gaze was calm, but full of curiosity.
"Yuji."
Fugaku looked at him intently.
"You’ve really recovered."
"Correct, Clan Head."
Fugaku’s Sharingan spun slowly.
After observing Yuji’s condition for a while, he deactivated it again.
"Remarkable."
"Not only your talent, but also the amount of your chakra."
Fugaku stood up.
"Remember. Power without control will become a curse. Don’t let power control you."
"I will remember it."
The conversation then continued, discussing the fight against the two Sunagakure intruders.
When Yuji explained that his Sharingan had evolved into Three Tomoe, even Fugaku, who was usually calm, looked surprised.
"That... Three Tomoe?"
"Correct."
The room fell silent again.
Itachi even blinked twice, because he was surprised.
After nearly half an hour of talking, the meeting was over.
As they walked out, Sagato patted his son’s shoulder.
"You are truly becoming the pride of the Uchiha Clan now."
Yuji only gave a faint smile.
This morning he had checked the system.
There were no special missions.
Only regular daily missions that he deliberately ignored because today’s schedule was too packed.
Leaving the hospital: done.
Facing Mother: done.
Meeting the Clan Head: done.
Now there was only one last goal.
The Hokage Building.
The place where a reward... and possibly a punishment might be waiting for him.
Yuji looked at the Hokage Tower from afar.
In his mind, various conspiracy theories about Hiruzen Sarutobi that he used to read on the internet in his previous life suddenly appeared.
"...I hope the one I meet later is a good and wise Hokage, not a corrupt one like that." He thought
Thinking about that possibility, Yuji could only let out a long sigh while continuing to walk toward the Hokage’s office.
