Kidnapped!
That woman, Chu Yan, had been kidnapped again!
The moment Zhou Fan saw the footprints, he knew this was a possibility!
Speechless, Zhou Fan quickly searched the room before following the footprints out the window in pursuit!
However, he hadn't been chasing for long before he lost their trail.
"I can help you deal with the people from the Assassination Squad, but my wife has been kidnapped. I need her location!"
Zhou Fan called Fan. Right now, the only one who could find clues to Chu Yan's whereabouts the fastest was the leader of Wolf Fang.
Standing on the street, Zhou Fan felt the Wall-Breaking Liquid in his pocket, wondering if he should take it right then and there. After all, he still didn't know who had kidnapped Chu Yan or how strong they were.
After some thought, he decided against it. The Wall-Breaking Liquid was only confirmed to help him recover from his injuries; whether it had any other adverse side effects was still unknown.
Less than three minutes later, Fan called back.
Zhang Lei, Brother Lei, Scarface's boss!
The abandoned docks in the east district!
After hanging up, Zhou Fan didn't bother with a car. Taking advantage of the pre-dawn darkness, he sprinted toward the abandoned docks.
Fortunately, Chu Yan's place was already in the east district, near the suburbs, so the abandoned docks weren't too far away.
...
"You two, with me. We're going to the abandoned docks in the east district!" Fan glanced at his phone, the call having just ended. He quickly summoned two of his subordinates, and they rushed to the docks as fast as they could.
"Boss, with that guy's strength, what's the use of us even going? Shouldn't we call in a few more of the brothers?" one of the Wolf Fang members couldn't help but ask from inside the car.
"Call in a few more brothers, my ass! This isn't simple. We're on a covert op to help that guy take out Zhang Lei!"
"A covert op? Does that guy even need our help? I've seen him in action before. Don't lie to me!"
"You said it yourself—that was before. It's different now. His current strength is probably about the same as yours."
Fan didn't care whether his man believed him or not, dropping the bombshell nonchalantly. Of course, the only reason he dared to say it was because the two men with him were brothers he had trusted with his life for years.
...
The abandoned dock, usually deserted, was now teeming with people—a good forty or fifty of them, every one armed with a knife or a club.
"Boss, why'd we even snatch this broad? You won't let us touch her, and you won't kill her either!"
In a building at the dock, Zhang Lei sat in the head seat, idly playing with a dagger while one of his underlings expressed his confusion.
"We're waiting for the client who ordered this job. Once he arrives with the money, we can kill her," Zhang Lei said, looking up. He was a surprisingly handsome man, only in his thirties. "Tell the boys to stay sharp. After this is over, everyone gets a hundred thousand!"
"Brother Zhang is very cautious."
After only Zhang Lei was left in the building, two figures emerged from the shadows. Both wore black masks that concealed the lower halves of their faces.
"Isn't your Young Master just as cautious? He actually sent the two of you." Zhang Lei snorted, giving them a single glance before dismissing them. "Tell your Young Master to bring the money quickly. If anything goes wrong in the meantime, I won't be held responsible."
At that moment, Zhou Fan arrived at the docks. Looking down at the dense crowd of people below, he pondered for a moment before finding a relatively weak point for infiltration.
'Dammit, I don't know if I'm strong enough to handle all these people in my current state,' he thought. 'I just hope there aren't any real experts among them.'
Muttering to himself, Zhou Fan pinpointed where Chu Yan was being held. He took a deep breath, dropped his cover, and launched a surprise attack on a man not far away.
POW!
This time, Zhou Fan showed no mercy. His first move was a killing blow—a palm-edge strike to the man's neck. He then smoothly snatched the dagger from his fallen opponent's hand.
"Crap, someone's here!"
"Fuck, he's here for the rescue! Get him!"
The two men closest to the action were the first to spot Zhou Fan. They bellowed at the top of their lungs, and instantly, everyone nearby swarmed in.
"Good, let them come. Time to see if I've still got it."
Zhou Fan licked his lips, a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes. Instead of retreating, he advanced, charging straight into the crowd.
One, two...
Twelve, fifteen...
Thirty-seven, forty-three...
An unknown amount of time passed. The bodies at Zhou Fan's feet had piled into a small mound. The slaughter had left him with several new wounds. Though not severe, they hindered his movements to varying degrees.
But Zhou Fan paid them no mind. With a bloodthirsty grin, he looked at the only six men left standing, made a throat-slitting gesture, and prepared to charge again.
"So impressive, slaughtering my brothers like pigs."
But just then, a dissonant voice cut through the air. Zhang Lei walked out slowly, followed by the two men in black masks.
Behind them, two more men emerged, dragging Chu Yan. They tied her directly to a pillar, beneath which was a drop of over ten meters to the river below.
The two men then each drew a knife, pressing the blades against Chu Yan's long, fair, jade-like neck.
