“Ah! Then how am I supposed to plunder their fortune?” Qin Xiao was dumbfounded and asked in confusion.

“Sigh! I can’t kill them, I can’t fight them, so how am I supposed to take their fortune? You won’t even give me a hint!” Qin Xiao sighed helplessly. He hated using his brain the most—it was too much of a headache.

“Since I can’t kill, then the only way to plunder their fortune is by seizing their opportunities, or suppressing and striking them down!” Qin Xiao rubbed his temple as he thought.

“But I can’t predict the future, so how do I know when opportunities will come his way? Am I supposed to watch him every second? As for suppression… Children of Destiny are strange creatures. The more you suppress them, the stronger they become. Even if nailed inside a coffin, they’d flip the lid open and crawl back out. Suppression doesn’t work.”

“That only leaves striking them down—using special means to attack their hearts, crush their confidence, and leave them completely ruined!”

With that thought, Qin Xiao immediately decided to give it a try and see if it would work.

“Servants!” Qin Xiao shouted toward the door.

“Master! What are your orders?”

Before long, an old man with white hair, a wrinkled face, but sharp, bright eyes walked in.

“Ah Fu! Go investigate a boy named Ye Tian, twelve years old, should be from the Ye Family. I want all his details.”

This old man was Qin Fu, the steward of the Qin Family. He had served Qin Xiao since childhood, growing up alongside him, utterly loyal.

“Yes!” Qin Fu accepted the order without hesitation, asking no questions, and left immediately.

An hour later, Qin Fu returned with a pile of information. Qin Xiao quickly picked it up and began reading.

Ye Tian, twelve years old, 2nd stage Body Tempering Realm. Nephew of Ye Long, patriarch of the Ye Family. Mother: Ye Suxin, age thirty-five, 7th stage Postnatal Realm. Father: unknown…

Seeing this, Qin Xiao’s expression grew strange. Unknown father? Could Ye Tian have a special background? Was his father perhaps some great figure?

It wouldn’t be surprising. Children of Destiny often had powerful fathers or impressive family backgrounds.

After finishing the file, Qin Xiao pulled out a portrait of Ye Tian. The boy’s features were delicate, his eyes bright and spirited, looking very intelligent.

“He doesn’t look special at all…” Qin Xiao muttered, tossing the portrait aside. He then picked up another portrait, and his eyes instantly lit up, flashing with amazement.

The portrait showed an extraordinarily beautiful woman. Her long hair fell to her waist, her skin was smooth and fair as jade, her forehead radiant like snow, her eyes pure yet gentle, her small nose exquisite, her pink lips delicate, and her oval face flawless like carved white jade. Her mature and alluring figure was perfectly proportioned, her elegance and soft temperament radiating boundless charm.

“Didn’t expect Ye Tian to look ordinary, but his mother is this beautiful. Seems he takes after his father in looks!” Qin Xiao thought secretly. Just one glance at Ye Suxin was enough to stir a man’s heart.

Suddenly, an idea struck him. His eyes gleamed, and the corners of his lips curled into a smile. He turned to Qin Fu. “Ah Fu, go call those two brats over here. I have something for them to do.”

“Yes!”

Soon, Qin Fu led Qin Zhan and Qin Long inside.

“Father! What is it you need from us?” Qin Long asked impatiently as soon as he entered.

“Sit down.” Qin Xiao glared at his restless second son, pointing at the chairs.

“Oh…” Qin Long instantly turned obedient, sitting quietly beside Qin Zhan.

Once they were seated, Qin Xiao handed them the portrait. The two brothers glanced at it and immediately exchanged puzzled looks. They knew this woman well—it was Ye Long’s younger sister, Ye Suxin. Qin Long had even courted her in the past.

“Father, this is…?” Qin Zhan asked in confusion. What was the point of showing them Ye Suxin’s portrait? Did he want one of them to marry her?

“I want to take Ye Suxin as a concubine. You two will go to the Ye Family and propose on my behalf.” Qin Xiao said coldly.

“What?”

Both Qin Zhan and Qin Long froze, staring at each other in disbelief. Did they hear that right? Their father wanted to take Ye Suxin as his concubine—and they, as sons, had to go propose marriage for him? Sons arranging a concubine for their father? This was unheard of!

“Father, you’re already so old. Why would you suddenly want a concubine?” Qin Zhan asked, bewildered.

“Yes, Father, you’re already so old. Ye Suxin is only in her thirties, and you…” Qin Long started, but before he could finish, Qin Xiao’s cold eyes fixed on him. His face looked calm, but Qin Long’s heart jumped, and he immediately shut his mouth.

“Go on, why don’t you finish? Second brat, are you saying I’m too old? That I can’t even lift my fists anymore?” Qin Xiao’s glare nearly made him explode in anger. Sure, this body was over eighty years old, but his soul was only in its twenties—a young man full of vigor!

What was wrong with a man loving mature women? Was that a crime?

“N-no, Father, you’ve misunderstood me! I didn’t mean it like that!” Qin Long stammered nervously. His father had always believed in beating sense into his sons. Every mistake meant a beating, and Qin Long had grown up with that fear.

“Hmph! I don’t care what you meant. Listen well. I’ve decided on Ye Suxin. Whether you use threats or promises, you must make this happen. But remember—don’t you dare use force. Understand?”

“Y-yes, Father, we understand.” Qin Zhan and Qin Long nodded quickly. They didn’t dare refute him again, or else they’d surely suffer a beating.

“Good. Go prepare, both of you.” Qin Xiao waved his hand, dismissing them.
