Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, a month had gone by.

“Husband, I want to return to the Ye Family for a visit. It has been a month since I last saw Xiao Tian. I want to check on how he’s been doing.”

In the Qin Family’s backyard, Qin Xiao lounged on a chair while Ye Suxin massaged his shoulders, her beautiful eyes gazing at him with gentleness.Full novel: The Villain Plundered the Children of Destiny’s Luck — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After living together for a month, Ye Suxin had basically accepted Qin Xiao. He treated her well, agreed to many of her requests, and respected her. He didn’t treat her like a tool for venting. Of course, he did have a small flaw—he loved basking in the sun so much that his skin had turned quite dark.

“Alright, I’ll go with you later. I happen to be free and can accompany you back to your family home.” Qin Xiao had already been thinking of ways to plunder Ye Tian’s Fortune Points, so he naturally agreed to her request. After a month of bitter cultivation, his progress was barely noticeable—less than what Ye Suxin had gained from practicing the Yin Scripture alone. Damn this poor aptitude of his!

“Thank you, husband!” Ye Suxin was overjoyed. Her eyes sparkled with tenderness when she looked at him. She had entered the Qin Family as a concubine, and a concubine’s status was low. Normally, only the main wife’s first return visit to her family would be accompanied by her husband. For Qin Xiao to accompany her back was a great show of respect, which moved her deeply.

“We are husband and wife. There’s no need for such polite words,” Qin Xiao whispered into her ear as he wrapped his arm around her slender waist.

After lingering together for a while, Qin Xiao summoned a team of guards. They set out grandly for the Ye Family.

When the entourage reached the gates, Qin Xiao and Ye Suxin stepped out and were greeted by Ye Long and others waiting there.

“Big Brother!” Ye Suxin called out joyfully when she saw Ye Long.

Ye Long’s face lit up, “Little Sister! Welcome home!” He then bowed respectfully to Qin Xiao, “Uncle Qin.”

His expression was complicated. By seniority, he should call Qin Xiao his brother-in-law, but Qin Xiao’s generation matched his father’s. The title “Uncle” was the only fitting one.

“There’s no need for courtesy. Today I’m only here to accompany Suxin. Don’t mind me,” Qin Xiao waved casually. New chapters come out on g.com first.

“Big Brother, where is Xiao Tian? Why don’t I see him?” Ye Suxin looked around but did not find her son’s figure.

“He must have gone to the back mountain again. I already sent someone to fetch him. He should be back soon,” Ye Long replied.

Just as he finished speaking, a joyful voice rang out from the distance.

“Mother!”

A young boy in green clothes, handsome but with a faintly delicate appearance, came running happily and threw himself into Ye Suxin’s arms.

“You child, why did you run to the back mountain again? What if you encountered danger?” Ye Suxin gently stroked Ye Tian’s head, her voice soft and filled with affection.

Hearing this warmth he had long missed, Ye Tian’s nose stung. Ever since his mother married into the Qin Family, it had been a whole month since he last felt her care.

“Come, Xiao Tian, let me introduce you. This is your mother’s husband. You should… you should call him Uncle,” Ye Suxin said, leading Ye Tian before Qin Xiao.

Ye Tian looked at the black-robed man before him, who appeared to be in his sixties. His heart filled with suppressed anger. This was the man who had taken away his mother, who had also forced Qingwu to leave Lingfeng City. But he quickly hid his fury. He was still weak and could not yet save his mother.

While Ye Tian studied Qin Xiao, Qin Xiao was also observing him. That trace of anger in Ye Tian’s eyes did not escape his notice, but he didn’t care. Examining the boy’s appearance, Qin Xiao saw nothing remarkable: an ordinary face, thin frame, but his expression brimmed with stubbornness. Hmm… like a stubborn mule. That was Qin Xiao’s first impression.

“Xiao Tian…” Ye Suxin urged softly when she saw her son staring without speaking.

“I’m sorry, husband. Xiao Tian wasn’t like this before. I’ll talk to him later,” Ye Suxin apologized. She sensed her son’s hostility toward Qin Xiao, which explained his reluctance.

“It’s fine. These are trivial matters. Don’t take it to heart,” Qin Xiao replied calmly. He knew perfectly well why Ye Tian harbored hostility, but he didn’t care. In his eyes, Ye Tian was just a fat sheep with plenty of wool to strip. Would he get angry at a sheep?

Ye Tian, however, was furious. Qin Xiao’s magnanimous act in front of his mother was nothing more than a way to discredit him. It made him hate Qin Xiao even more.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host. Your actions have slightly affected Ye Tian’s image of you in Ye Suxin’s heart. Reward: 5 Fortune Points. Please continue to strive for more Fortune Points!]

The system’s voice rang in Qin Xiao’s mind, exciting him. He had earned Fortune Points! But when he saw it was only 5 points, his face darkened. Only 5? Was the system trying to fob him off like a beggar?

“System, did you embezzle my Fortune Points? Why only 5? That’s too little!”

[Host, do not doubt the system’s integrity. Your actions had limited effect on Ye Tian, so only 5 Fortune Points were obtained. If the host finds it too little, you may reject it.]

“Take it, why wouldn’t I take it!” Qin Xiao roared in his heart. A mosquito might be small, but it was still meat. He had only 5 Fortune Points left before, and now he had doubled them.

Through this, Qin Xiao realized that to gain Fortune Points, avoiding Ye Tian was impossible. He had to find a way to keep Ye Tian within his reach.

Qin Xiao spent the afternoon in the Ye Family with Ye Suxin, then returned to the Qin Family with his entourage.

“Husband, forgive Xiao Tian for earlier. He was ignorant. I’ve already scolded him. I hope you won’t hold it against him,” Ye Suxin apologized on the way back, seeing Qin Xiao’s silence and thinking he was upset.

“Why apologize again? Didn’t I say I didn’t mind?” Qin Xiao pulled Ye Suxin into his arms and kissed her beautiful face.

Blushing, Ye Suxin asked softly, “Then what were you thinking about just now?”
