One figure after another appeared around the Martial Arena.

They looked on in shock. The violent energy raging within the arena kept everyone from getting too close.

All they could vaguely see was a lone figure standing within the storm—like a ruler controlling all.Full novel: The Villain Snatched the Protagonist’s Master at the Start — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“The power’s not bad,” Qin Jiang murmured.

This was the first time he had used Sky Shift. As expected of an Emperor Technique—he had only just begun to comprehend it, yet the might it unleashed was enough to overpower a Unity Realm cultivator with ease, despite Qin Jiang being only at the Divine Ability Realm.

He looked down at the arena with a smile. From the moment he arrived at the Ye Family, he could feel Ye Lingtian’s subtle hostility, so it was good to give him a lesson early.

Qin Jiang waved his arm, and the raging energy began to dissipate.

The entire Martial Arena was completely destroyed—except for the small space where Ye Lingtian stood, which remained perfectly intact. His body was stiff, not daring to move even slightly.

Within the storm, he had felt the destructive energy graze past his body again and again. If he had moved even a little, he’d probably be in pieces now.

“Uncle Ye, you’re not hurt, right?” Qin Jiang asked with a chuckle.

Ye Lingtian slowly raised his head. His rigid body finally relaxed.

Looking at Qin Jiang, his face alternated between green and white. No matter what, he was still Qin Jiang’s father-in-law, yet he’d just been thoroughly beaten by his future son-in-law.

“Ye Lingtian, what the hell are you doing?!”

Just then, a furious scolding rang out.

Qin Jiang turned his head—it was Ye Mother and Ye Ling’er. The two of them had arrived at the Martial Arena, and upon seeing the devastation, their gazes immediately turned toward Ye Lingtian.

Qin Jiang flickered beside Ye Ling’er and put on an innocent expression.

“Uh… I was just sparring with Xiao Jiang,” Ye Lingtian said with a dry laugh.

“Sparring?” Ye Mother’s eyes widened. “I think you were bullying him! What kind of ‘sparring’ causes this much destruction? You’re the elder—don’t you feel ashamed?!”

Ye Lingtian: “…”

“Xiao Jiang, are you alright?” After scolding Ye Lingtian, Ye Mother turned to Qin Jiang, her tone softening.

She was still very fond of Qin Jiang.

Ye Ling’er held Qin Jiang’s hand tightly, her beautiful eyes scanning him carefully. Seeing that he wasn’t hurt, she finally let out a small sigh of relief.

Qin Jiang shook his head, “Aunt, I’m fine. Uncle Ye’s strength isn’t enough to injure me.”

“That’s good.” Ye Mother smiled again and gave Ye Lingtian another fierce glare. “From now on, if that old man bullies you again, just tell me. I’ll take care of him for you!”

“Will do~” Qin Jiang nodded and winked at Ye Lingtian. This story is hosted at g.com.

For a moment, Ye Lingtian was the only one suffering in this entire world.

He was filled with grievances, but there was no one he could complain to.

Without staying long in the Martial Arena, the three left side by side, leaving Ye Lingtian to quickly call someone to repair the arena. Then he followed along—but among the four, he now felt like an outsider.

…

Several days passed.

The news of Qin Jiang’s arrival in Ye City spread quickly. Ye Qingtian, who had shown some activity earlier, once again disappeared. The tense atmosphere in Ye City began to ease.

However, Qin Jiang couldn’t remain at the Ye Family forever.

The threat needed to be eliminated directly.

The Ye Family understood this well and continued sending people to investigate Ye Qingtian’s whereabouts. At the same time, they began secretly probing which Ancient Clans were behind the attacks on the Ye Family.

Unfortunately, the results weren’t very promising.

Meanwhile, Qin Jiang wandered idly around Ye City. One day, he arrived at a casino.

“Rose Casino.”

Qin Jiang looked up at the sign and walked toward the entrance.

…

Inside the casino, the air was deafening. Shouts and cheers filled the space. The chaotic crowd brimmed with raw energy.

And at the same time, it stirred up primal hormones.

It was Qin Jiang’s first time in such a place.

“Young Master, casinos aren’t good places. Don’t let yourself get too carried away. Also, this place is full of shady characters and deceitful tricksters. If you want to have some fun, please be careful,” Hei Long quietly warned from behind.

Qin Jiang waved him off, “Relax. I’m known as the King of a Thousand Bets. I never lose. Today, I’m going to sweep this casino clean!”

Hei Long’s expression twitched.

Others might not know, but he had followed Qin Jiang since childhood. He’d never once seen Qin Jiang gamble.

After all, cultivators had superior physiques compared to ordinary people.

Though using spiritual energy was prohibited, many of the techniques and skills involved were more advanced.

Qin Jiang was just about to sit at a table—

When a commotion suddenly broke out. He turned his head toward the sound, eyes narrowing slightly.

On the stairs leading to the second floor, a seductive figure slowly descended. Almost every gambler in the casino was staring at her, breathing heavily in awe.

She wore a fiery red gown—loose and flowing. Her pale, smooth swan neck made people swallow hard, but what drew even more attention were her bare, delicate feet, white and flawless like fine jade.

As she walked, her dress swayed, revealing perfect calves—a dangerously tempting sight.

She stepped down gracefully, her exquisite face adorned with a charming smile. Her long hair hung freely, still slightly damp as if she had just bathed, clinging to her back.

It made her dress faintly translucent.

Ignoring the frenzied gazes around her, she looked directly at Qin Jiang and greeted him respectfully, “Young Master Qin, forgive me for not welcoming you personally.”

Qin Jiang raised an eyebrow. “As expected of Blood Rose (not real name). I just stepped into the casino, and you already recognized me. Not bad at all.”

As soon as he said this, Blood Rose’s body stiffened slightly, her pupils contracting.

She had recognized Qin Jiang because of his fame. Lately, anyone with any influence knew of his arrival and had instructed their people not to provoke him.

But the fact that Qin Jiang had recognized her…

That meant he had specifically investigated her.

Why? What did Qin Jiang want from her? Or rather… from the forces behind her?

Any of these possibilities made her back go cold.

She forced a charming smile and stepped forward, almost pressing against Qin Jiang, “Young Master Qin is teasing me. I’m just a humble woman who has admired you for a long time. I merely instructed my people to be attentive—nothing more.”

“Is that so?” Qin Jiang smirked.

Meat that came to your mouth—why not eat?

He casually reached out and wrapped his arm around her waist. He could clearly feel Blood Rose’s body stiffen—but she quickly softened.

“If you admire me that much, shouldn’t you show it?”

Qin Jiang teased.

One hand around her waist, the other lifting her chin, his eyes gleamed. Blood Rose’s beautiful eyes trembled slightly.
