“Mom, I’m not leaving.

Can you let me say a few words to my brother?”

To Mandy Lawson, the word ‘Mom’ was her absolute kryptonite.Full novel: The Villainess Refuses the Scripts — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Whenever she heard Juno call her Mom, she wished she could pluck the moon from the sky for her.

“Okay!

Then let Mom hold your hand.

I want to hold your hand!”

Mandy was like a child.

After releasing her embrace, she tightly held onto Juno’s hand.

Juno squeezed back, holding her hand even tighter.

Meanwhile, she curled a finger from her other hand, gesturing for Jayden to come closer.

When Jayden leaned in, she stood on her tiptoes and whispered in his ear, “I castrated Stephen Grant.”

Jayden frowned, looking at the young girl in confusion, as if he didn’t understand what she was saying.

Without batting an eye, Juno repeated, “Three hours ago, Stephen Grant became a eunuch.”

Jayden fell silent.

The air seemed to freeze for a fraction of a second.

He stood stunned for a long while before digesting the news.

“You did it?”

“Yeah,” the young girl nodded.

There was absolutely no emotion on her calm, unruffled little face.

It was as if she hadn’t castrated a human being, but merely neutered a stray cat to prevent future troubles.

But this was Stephen Grant, the man hailed by the media as a ‘walking hormone’…

PFFT.

Jayden burst into laughter.

His deep, clear eyes sparkled as he looked at her.

Juno tilted her head, blinking her clear, doe-like dark eyes, somewhat unable to understand his reaction.

Shouldn’t he be surprised or angry, like the system?

After all, Stephen wasn’t weak; he was a considerable source of trouble for the Jacobs family.

Amidst her confusion, a warm hand landed on her head, gently rubbing the crown of her hair.

“Don’t be afraid.

I’m here.”

Inside the spacious and spotless floor-to-ceiling windows, sunlight flooded the room.

Dappled spots of light sprinkled across his cheeks, making every subtle change in his expression clearly visible.

Juno had never known that a man’s smile could be so sweet, so beautiful.

So beautiful that…

she actually stood frozen in place, uselessly captivated…

She didn’t snap out of it for a long time…

Even after he left, that smile was like a brand, deeply etched into her mind…

It felt so familiar…

So familiar.

It was as if a long, long time ago, she had seen a smile just like this…

“Juno…”

It wasn’t until someone called out to her that Juno snapped out of her daze.

Staring at Mandy’s face, she spaced out again.

“Mom?”

“Yes!

I thought I’d never hear you call me ‘Mom’ again in this lifetime…”

Inside the house, the mother and daughter were pouring their hearts out to each other.

Outside, however, it was a tense standoff, a literal battle of words.

“Chairman Jacobs, please don’t make this difficult for us.

Hand Juno over.

She injured our boss, and we must have an explanation!” The men standing outside the villa gates were Stephen Grant’s subordinates.

“An explanation?

Who do you think you are to cause a scene at the Jacobs family’s home?”

Derek Jacobs was a businessman with a relatively gentle temperament, and he rarely lost his temper.

But at this moment, he was stern and imposing, unleashing his full aura.

The majesty of someone who had long held a high position ensured he didn’t flinch in the slightest when facing four burly, muscular men.

In fact, his presence completely overpowered theirs.

The men exchanged glances.

The arrogance they had arrived with was already half-extinguished, but they still spoke stubbornly, “Chairman Jacobs, you sure know how to joke.

Just last night, you were at the Grant family’s door, begging to see our boss!”

The Jacobs Group could be considered a leading enterprise in Celestia.

Although Stephen was their boss, compared to the Jacobs family, he was nowhere near their level.

Yet last night, they had clearly seen Derek acting humbly and subserviently outside the Grant family’s door.

No matter how powerful this business tycoon was, didn’t he still have to beg their boss?

Now that the woman who hurt their boss was with the Jacobs family, they had to hand her over obediently!

As for why Derek had begged Stephen, it was completely beyond their scope of understanding.

And they certainly didn’t know that the Juno they were looking for was none other than the eldest daughter of the Jacobs family!
