Meng Shining was somewhat surprised to see Lin Siqing and glanced at Jiang Wenyan.
Jiang Wenyan’s darker side was barely mentioned in the original story, and there were few descriptions of him.
Meng Shining did not know, nor did she want to know, the relationship between Jiang Wenyan and Lin Siqing.
Lin Siqing was equally surprised to see Meng Shining.
Jiang Wenyan asked gently, “Siqing, what are you doing here? Something you need?”
Lin Siqing tugged at the corner of her mouth. “Just wanted to chat, have a drink.”
“But it looks like it’s inconvenient for you. Another day then. I should go first.”
Meng Shining’s ears perked up at the mention of drinking. “Hey, don’t be in such a hurry. Since you came, let’s have a few drinks together.”
Lin Siqing looked a little surprised, scanning the two of them, but she had no intention of staying to drink at Meng Shining’s urging.
Meng Shining tapped her chin and smacked her lips. “But drinking at home is boring. Why don’t we go out? I heard the bar is fun, handsome… there’s food, drinks, and entertainment. Why don’t you take me out for drinks?”
Jiang Wenyan’s brows furrowed slightly. In his memory, Meng Shining always looked down on Lin Siqing because of Meng Ci’an. Every encounter was full of cold sarcasm or verbal attacks.
Bao Linglong screamed in warning. “Host, be careful not to break the original character! Do you still want to complete your mission?”
Meng Shining realized she was here on a mission.
She quickly switched her expression. “Hmph, I don’t care whether you take me out for drinks or not.”
The sudden shift in attitude was so smooth that Lin Siqing was slightly puzzled.
Jiang Wenyan opened the door and said in a low voice, “Come in.”
Meng Shining snorted at Lin Siqing. “Hmph, aren’t you coming in quickly?”
Jiang Wenyan merely glanced at Meng Shining, saying nothing, and walked in with a cold expression.
Lin Siqing followed the two inside.
Jiang Wenyan went straight to the wine cabinet, taking out two bottles of red wine and three wine glasses.
Meng Shining sat on the sofa, staring at Lin Siqing in a daze.
Previously, she had no concept of a novel heroine, but seeing Lin Siqing, though her posture was casual, she still radiated brilliance and layers of elegance.
Meng Shining’s gaze drifted to Lin Siqing’s chest, then down to her own. Although not large, it seemed small in comparison.
A scene she had seen before suddenly came to mind.
Lin Siqing sat on the sofa, feeling slightly uncomfortable under Meng Shining’s burning gaze.
Turning to look at Meng Shining, Lin Siqing was surprised as the screen above her head appeared again, the same one from the birthday banquet day.
The screen flickered twice, showing two little anime characters.
One was petite with Lin Siqing’s name above her head, an arrow below, and another slightly smaller with Meng Shining’s name, also with an arrow below.
Lin Siqing squinted, quietly watching the little characters’ movements.
The little character with Lin Siqing’s name held a phone, then pulled open her collar, tucking the phone into her chest.
The little character with Meng Shining’s name watched Lin Siqing’s character, eyes wide in surprise.
Then mimicking Lin Siqing’s character, she opened her collar and tucked her phone into her chest.
But unlike Lin Siqing’s character, Meng Shining’s phone slipped from her chest with a plop, falling to the ground.
The screen froze, and then the little character cried loudly.
Seeing this, Lin Siqing could not help but laugh out loud.
Meng Shining frowned at Lin Siqing’s sudden laughter.
This woman must be crazy.
As the little character cried, the screen above Meng Shining’s head disappeared.
Lin Siqing looked away, her curiosity about Meng Shining growing.
Jiang Wenyan returned with the wine, noticing their contrasting expressions.
Lin Siqing still smiled, while Meng Shining frowned, a look of puzzlement on her face.
Jiang Wenyan poured wine from the decanter into the glasses, handing one to Lin Siqing and keeping one for himself. “What happened?”
Seeing Jiang Wenyan didn’t continue, Meng Shining pointed at herself. “What about mine?”
Jiang Wenyan ignored her, sitting on the sofa across from Lin Siqing.
Meng Shining pouted, poured a glass for herself, and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the neon lights outside, lost in thought.
“It’s nothing, just some stress…” Lin Siqing said, but then noticed the screen above Meng Shining’s head light up again.
Jiang Wenyan, seeing Lin Siqing stop speaking, asked, “What is it?”
He naturally could not see the screen, sitting with his back to the window.
Lin Siqing smiled. “Nothing, just thinking about recent events, don’t know where to start.”
Jiang Wenyan nodded slightly, glancing at Meng Shining. Seeing the screen above her head, he quietly stood and walked to the window to observe.
Meng Shining’s mind was filled with visions of bars, indulgence, and extravagance. Though she had never been, she had seen them in novels and dramas.
Jiang Wenyan sipped his wine, quietly watching the changing screen.
On the screen, Meng Shining wore a leopard-print coat, sitting in a flashy private room. A row of handsome men stood in front of her.
Seeing the men, Meng Shining immediately stood. “Hehe… very good, very good. The men here are skilled. I will tip generously.”
“Stand up straight, open your jackets. No abs, leave. No chest muscles, leave.” Her voice became increasingly lewd.
After she spoke, more than half the men left.
A new batch pushed in, and Meng Shining repeated her instructions, finally leaving four or five handsome men.
The men smiled at her. “Hello, Sister Meng.”
“Hello, hello, nice to meet you,” Meng Shining smiled brightly.
“Next, the final condition. Take off your pants.” Meng Shining’s smile grew even more lewd.
Jiang Wenyan cleared his throat. “Meng Shining!”
Meng Shining’s train of thought was interrupted, and she frowned at Jiang Wenyan.
Lin Siqing watched the screen above Meng Shining’s head disappear. Seeing Jiang Wenyan look at her, she immediately restrained her smile and looked away.
She had just observed that Jiang Wenyan seemed unable to see the screen.
This meant that only she could see the screen above Meng Shining’s head.
