After speaking, she tugged Jiang Wenyan toward herself with force.
Jiang Wenyan did not expect her strength while drunk to be so great and was accidentally pulled onto the bed.
Supporting himself on both sides of Meng Shining’s head, he prevented himself from falling fully on top of her and prepared to get up and leave.
Meng Shining reached out, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him toward her chest. “Sleep with me.”
Jiang Wenyan sighed, gently moved her away, and then lay down beside her. If he didn’t stay close tonight, it would probably be chaotic.
Meng Shining curled her lips and turned to hug Jiang Wenyan’s waist. “Good boy. Tomorrow, your sister will give you extra tips. As long as you take care of me well, your benefits…”
Her voice grew quieter and eventually disappeared.
Jiang Wenyan lay flat on the bed, listening to Meng Shining’s steady and long breathing. He sighed helplessly and moved the hand that was hugging his waist away.
“Mm… demon… demon, don’t escape,” Meng Shining murmured, moving closer and wrapping her arms around his waist again.
Jiang Wenyan had no choice. He couldn’t hit her or scold her and could only let her hold him.
Once Meng Shining fell asleep, Jiang Wenyan quietly got out of bed, careful not to wake her, and went through a round of maneuvers.
After successfully leaving the room and returning to his guest room, locking the door, he finally relaxed.
In all his years in business, he had never been afraid.
But facing a drunk Meng Shining, he was truly worried. She was too troublesome.
From now on, she could never drink in front of him again.
When Meng Shining woke, it was already broad daylight. The curtains were open, and sunlight streamed in, bright and warm.
Sitting up, she gasped. Her head was dizzy and aching, and her body felt as if it had been run over by a car.
Wait.
She hadn’t actually slept with Jiang Wenyan because of the alcohol, had she?
If that were true…
Wouldn’t that be a huge gain for her?
Meng Shining couldn’t help but smile.
But wait.
If she had no memory of it, does that mean it was a wasted sleep?
Then that would be a big loss for her.
Stepping out of the room, Meng Shining looked for Jiang Wenyan.
Scanning the living room, she finally spotted him on the balcony.
Rubbing her head, she walked to Jiang Wenyan and stopped a short distance behind him. “Do you have my toiletries?”
Hearing her, Jiang Wenyan turned. “The guest bathroom.”
Meng Shining nodded. “The room I just came out of?”
“That was the master bedroom. The guest room is over there,” Jiang Wenyan said, pointing.
Meng Shining was shocked. How did she end up in the master bedroom?
Could it be that last night she really…?
Swallowing, she asked cautiously, “Uh… last night, I shouldn’t have done anything to you, right?”
Hearing this, Jiang Wenyan’s expression immediately darkened.
Seeing his reaction, Meng Shining’s heart skipped a beat. It seemed it really had happened.
“No,” Jiang Wenyan said coldly.
“From now on, drinking in front of me is forbidden!” he added as Meng Shining turned to leave.
“Why?” she asked.
Jiang Wenyan gave her a cold glance. “Annoying.”
Meng Shining snorted coldly. She usually handled alcohol well and would sleep quietly if she drank too much. How could that be annoying?
After washing up in the guest bathroom, Meng Shining returned to the living room, picked up her bag and phone, smiled at Jiang Wenyan, and waved. “Thank you, Young Master Jiang, for your hospitality. I will repay you properly if I have the chance in the next life.”
Jiang Wenyan watched her leave and hurriedly changed in the master bedroom’s wardrobe before going out.
After leaving Jiang Wenyan’s house, Meng Shining called home.
“Aunt Wei?” she said sweetly.
Wei Guifen answered and mouthed to the dark-faced Meng Ci’an nearby, “It’s the young lady.”
Meng Ci’an lowered his voice. “If she asks if I’m home, say I’m not.”
Wei Guifen nodded.
“Aunt Wei, is my brother home?” Meng Shining asked cautiously. Knowing the situation was key to success.
If Meng Ci’an wasn’t home, she could sneak back. If he was, she would stay out.
Wei Guifen smiled. “The young master went to the company early this morning. He isn’t home.”
Hearing this, Meng Shining exhaled. “Aunt Wei, I’m at Chaojing Apartments. Please arrange a driver to pick me up.”
Wei Guifen agreed, then hung up and told Meng Ci’an, “She wants the driver to pick her up at Chaojing Apartments. I’ll arrange it now.”
Meng Ci’an nodded. “Make sure the driver doesn’t slip up. When she returns, station someone at every exit.”
Wei Guifen worriedly advised, “Young master, the young lady is still young. If she makes a mistake, just teach her a lesson. Don’t hurt her.”
She had watched both of them grow up. Although Meng Shining was spoiled, she was still filial.
“Aunt Wei, don’t worry. I definitely won’t hit her. I can’t kill her anyway,” Meng Ci’an gritted his teeth.
Lying in bed last night, he had grown angrier the more he thought about it. He couldn’t sleep, especially after seeing Lin Siqing and Jiang Wenyan in the group he was kicked out of.
She had kicked him out of the group. No one had ever dared do that. She actually kicked him out.
Meng Ci’an sneered. When she returned, she would feel the full force of her brother’s love.
About half an hour later, Meng Shining saw her car slowly pull up in front of her.
Once inside, she confirmed again, “Is my brother home?”
The driver had been instructed not to reveal anything. “The young master isn’t home. He left for the company early.”
Meng Shining exhaled in relief. Good. As long as he wasn’t home, she could relax.
On the way home, she looked at the three-person group chat she had created and recalled some fragments of last night after drinking too much.
“Bao Linglong, did I touch the heroine’s chest? Did I even rub it?” Meng Shining asked in disbelief.
Bao Linglong snorted. Yes.
“No, aren’t you my system? Why didn’t you stop me?” Meng Shining was speechless. This system was really unreliable.
Bao Linglong was furious. Didn’t I stop you? I shouted until my throat hurt and the CPU nearly exploded. You didn’t hear me. You even muted my voice!
Meng Shining asked uncertainly, “Did you stop me? Are you sure you did? I didn’t hear you.”
Bao Linglong: If you say I didn’t, then I didn’t.
Meng Shining sneered. I knew you were an incompetent system.
Bao Linglong, The car quickly drove into the villa.
Meng Ci’an watched coldly from the second-floor window as the vehicle entered.
After getting out, Meng Shining looked curiously at the few people guarding the gate.
“Aunt Wei, what are they doing standing at the entrance?” she asked.
Wei Guifen just patted her shoulder and said nothing.
