The alien snake was much larger than an ordinary snake—it looked as tall as a person. The sub-female burst into terrified tears at the sight of it.

How could a sub-female who couldn’t even lift a finger possibly be a match for an alien snake? Zuo Qi’an felt the person before him was utterly vicious. “If you have an issue with Sheng Anlan, take it out on me. Why torment a sub-female?”

Sheng Anlan was already angry that Zuo Qi’an treated that sub-female differently from how he treated her, and hearing him defend her now only made her angrier.Full novel: The Vixen’s Soft Waist Teases the Interstellar Magnate Sleepless — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She looked at him, her eyes full of malice. “Since you don’t want her to tame the alien snake, why don’t you do it yourself?”

With that, she gave an order to the attendants. “Release the alien snake to Zuo Qi’an.”

At once, the attendants carried the caged alien snake over to Zuo Qi’an. But the moment the cage door opened, something unexpected happened—the snake lunged straight at the sub-female behind Zuo Qi’an, biting her to death on the spot, her entrails spilling out.

For a beast-husband of a certain rank, taming an alien snake was relatively easy, but no one could have predicted that the snake would suddenly lose control and attack the sub-female like that.

Zuo Qi’an’s face turned deathly pale as he stared at the gruesome scene before him, his eyes vacant and hollow.

Seeing this, Sheng Anlan’s hair stood on end. This was terrifying—too vicious.

No wonder the original owner’s beast-husbands disliked her. But the real problem now was that she had to clean up the mess the original owner had made.

Honestly, Sheng Anlan wanted to just give up and ignore it all, but she had no other choice, because she’d discovered she couldn’t return to the blue planet.

She let out a deep sigh. It seemed she would just have to slowly resolve these conflicts, and then dissolve the contracts with them.

If she said it outright, given everything the original owner had done, they wouldn’t believe her anyway.

She released some of her Mental Power, and once Zuo Qi’an’s nerves relaxed, he fell peacefully asleep.

Seeing that he was fine, Sheng Anlan rose and left the confinement room.

After releasing her Mental Power, her whole body felt weak and exhausted, yet her mind was still racing.

Earlier, she had been worried about not knowing what terrible things the original owner had done to these beast-husbands. Now it seemed that as long as she touched their Mental Maps, she could learn what had happened between them.

All this thinking made her legs give out the moment she stepped out the door, and her body pitched straight forward—but she never hit the ground. Instead, a broad figure caught her in his arms, and a pleasant, faint scent of pine drifted into her breath.

“Princess, careful!”

A gentle voice of warning sounded in Sheng Anlan’s ear. Her body was enveloped by a broad chest, and beneath snow-white robes was a face as warm and gentle as polished jade.

He was still dressed in a white palace robe, its layers of snowy nano silk draped over him like green pine pressed against white snow—his posture tall and upright, a gentleman like fine jade.

His brows and eyes were mild, his lips touched with a faint smile, like warm sunshine that unknowingly warmed the heart.

What a gentle soul.

Sheng Anlan silently drooled in her heart as she sized up the jade-like Solans before her.

The original owner really ate well.

“Princess, are you all right?” Qiao Mo’s face was full of worry as he watched his princess’s legs give out and her slip and fall.

Sheng Anlan wanted to admire his beauty a little longer, but unfortunately, the moment didn’t last before she was interrupted.

Once she steadied herself, she put some distance between herself and Solans. “I’m fine.”

Then she looked at Solans beside her and said, somewhat surprised, “What brings you here?”

Solans smiled gently: “I heard Qi’an was injured, so I came to take a look.”

These Beast-husbands didn’t get along well with Sheng Anlan, but among themselves they were quite close—perhaps because they had been tormented by the original owner so often that they had become very united.

Hearing this, Sheng Anlan nodded and said nothing more, turning to walk ahead.

After a few steps, she noticed Solans following behind her.

She stopped in confusion. “Didn’t you say you wanted to see Zuo Qi’an?”

Solans smiled. “Yes, and I’ve already seen him.”

Sheng Anlan was taken aback. “You’ve seen him?”

But he clearly hadn’t entered the confinement room, and for a moment she was puzzled.

Solans smiled mildly. “The Princess just went in. Qi’an has already been soothed by the Princess’s Mental Power, so I don’t think anything will happen to him.”

He had actually guessed that she would relieve Zuo Qi’an’s Mental Power?

And he trusted her so readily.

She hadn’t forgotten that when she woke up, the other Beast-husbands practically wished she were dead.

Still, on the day she woke up, only he had treated her differently.

People always feel a natural fondness for those who smile at them. Seeing Solans following her, Sheng Anlan hesitated a little. “Is there something you need—”

Before she could finish, he spoke: “My palace is just ahead. Lunch has already been prepared for the Princess. Would the Princess like to come and see?”

Sheng Anlan truly hadn’t expected him to invite her.

He looked at her with a smile, and she couldn’t bring herself to refuse, so she nodded in agreement.

The palace Solans lived in was called the Hall of Flowing Light, built entirely of white marble, looking simple and elegant.

Compared to the Star Palace where she lived, this palace was somewhat smaller in scale.

The palace’s decor was just like its owner—gentle and restrained, with no excessive high technology, nor carved railings and painted pillars.

Instead, many flowers and trees had been planted, which made Sheng Anlan’s eyes light up.

Although Interstellar Society was highly advanced, green plants were far too scarce. As someone from Earth, Sheng Anlan felt uncomfortable looking at the lack of greenery.

Solans’s palace was planted with many plants, making her feel, for a moment, as if she had returned to Earth.

The variety of plants was also considerable—red, pink, and blue flowers blooming in competition, truly a delight to behold.

Solans walked to a courtyard and stopped.

The Antelope-Horned Attendants were coming in and out carrying trays. Solans glanced at the dining table, saw that everything was set, and instructed: “Leave this to me. You may all withdraw.”

The attendants in charge of serving nodded and left the room. Qiao Mo, seeing that the food was already laid out on the table, was about to pull out a chair for Sheng Anlan when Solans stopped him. “You may withdraw as well. I will look after the Princess.”

Hearing this, Qiao Mo nodded and withdrew from the courtyard.

For a moment, only Sheng Anlan and Solans remained in the entire courtyard.

The atmosphere was somewhat quiet.

Sheng Anlan seemed a bit at a loss—she didn’t know why Solans had suddenly invited her to a meal.

Compared to her awkwardness, Solans appeared much calmer. With impeccable manners, he pulled out a chair for Sheng Anlan and looked at her with a smile: “Please sit, Princess.”

Sheng Anlan nodded, thanked him, and took her seat.

Seeing that Sheng Anlan had sat down, Solans did not sit immediately. Instead, he picked up the wine bottle on the table and began pouring wine.

Seeing Sheng Anlan looking around, he smiled and said: “Is the Princess pleased to dine here?”

The dining table was set in the courtyard, facing the garden, where colorful flowers were in bloom. Eating in a place like this was naturally quite pleasant.

Sheng Anlan answered honestly, “It’s lovely.”

Solans placed a poured glass of red wine in front of Sheng Anlan. “As long as the Princess likes it.”
