Lin Kai stood on the ancient stone platform and looked around carefully.
Several powerful auras were approaching him from different directions.
He counted at least six people, and the strongest among them felt close to Stage 8.
He immediately became alert and prepared for battle.
A few moments later, six figures appeared from the twisted trees.
All of them wore black clothes and masks, just like the previous group sent by Lin Feng.
However, this time their auras were clearly stronger.
The leader stepped forward.
He was taller than the others and carried a long black spear.
His cultivation had reached Early Stage 8.
“Lin Kai,” the leader said in a cold voice.
“Young Master Lin Feng is very disappointed that you are still alive. This time, we will not fail.”
Lin Kai’s eyes remained calm.
“You people from the Lin Clan really have nothing better to do.”
The leader did not waste time talking.
“Kill him!”
The six black-clothed experts attacked together.
Lin Kai immediately activated his improved Void Domain.
A larger black area spread out around him compared to before.
Inside the domain, the movements of the attackers became slower, and their energy flow was clearly affected.
At the same time, he tested his new ability.
Void Drain!
Several black energy threads shot out from his body and connected to the nearest two Stage 7 experts from a short distance.
Their faces changed in shock as they felt their cultivation being pulled away even without direct contact.
“What is this?!”
Lin Kai did not give them time to recover.
He used Lightning Flash Step and appeared in front of one of them, striking with Dark Flame Palm.
The man was sent flying while a large portion of his energy was drained.
“His devouring power has grown stronger. Be careful! Do not let him touch you!”
The remaining attackers changed their strategy.
They kept their distance and attacked with long-range techniques — energy blades, spears of light, and poisonous mist filled the area.
Lin Kai moved continuously between the attacks.
His body was already carrying several small wounds, but his eyes stayed cold and focused.
The Stage 8 leader finally charged forward with his black spear.
The spear carried a heavy and sharp aura as it stabbed toward Lin Kai’s chest.
Lin Kai crossed his arms and blocked the attack.
The powerful force pushed him back several meters, and cracks appeared on the ground under his feet.
Blood leaked from the corner of his mouth.
“Strong,” Lin Kai muttered.
He wiped the blood and stopped holding back.
The Void Core inside him spun at full speed.
Black energy exploded from his body, and the Void Domain expanded even further.
Using the improved Void Drain, he locked onto the Stage 8 leader from a distance and began pulling his energy.
The leader’s face changed.
He felt a strange force trying to suck away his cultivation.
He quickly cut the black energy threads with his spear, but Lin Kai continued creating more.
The fight became more intense.
Lin Kai focused mainly on the Stage 8 leader while using his domain and draining ability to keep the others under pressure.
One by one, the Stage 7 experts were forced to retreat after losing too much energy.
After several minutes of fierce battle, Lin Kai finally found an opening.
He used Shadow Step to appear beside the Stage 8 leader and grabbed his arm tightly.
Devour!
Black energy poured into the leader’s body like a flood.
The Early Stage 8 expert’s face twisted in pain and disbelief.
“This power… is impossible!”
Lin Kai’s eyes glowed purple-black.
“This is the power that will destroy your Lin Clan.”
The leader struggled with all his strength and finally managed to break free by sacrificing a part of his own cultivation.
The remaining black-clothed experts quickly supported their injured leader and disappeared into the forest.
Lin Kai did not chase them.
His breathing was heavy, and several wounds on his body were still bleeding.
The fight against an Early Stage 8 expert while being surrounded had not been easy.
He sat down on the stone platform and took out a healing pill.
While recovering, he refined the large amount of energy he had just absorbed.
[Absorbed large amount of Stage 7 and Stage 8 energy]
[Progress to Peak Stage 6: 23%]
[Void Core has become more stable]
After some time, Lin Kai opened his eyes.
His condition had improved a lot.
He stood up and looked toward the deeper parts of the secret realm.
A strong pressure was coming from that direction, as if something important was hidden there.
“The core area of the secret realm…” he whispered.
Just as he was about to move forward, a cold voice suddenly came from behind him.
“You are harder to kill than I expected.”
Lin Kai turned around quickly.
A young man in white robes stood under a twisted tree, looking at him with a calm but cold expression.
It was Feng Jian.
Feng Jian rested his hand on the hilt of his sword and said, “I followed the energy fluctuations of your fight. Those people were from the Lin Clan, correct?”
Lin Kai did not deny it.
“What do you want?”
Feng Jian looked at him for a moment and then said, “I do not care about the Lin Clan or your identity. But your power interests me. When this secret realm ends, I want to fight you again at your full strength.”
After saying that, Feng Jian turned around and left without waiting for an answer.
Lin Kai watched his back and remained silent for a few seconds.
Then he continued walking toward the core area of the secret realm.
He could feel that something important was waiting for him there.
And so was greater danger.
