“Money isn’t an issue. Where’s the merchandise?”
Shen Shuangshuang pulled out an encrypted USB drive from her bag. “Here’s the deposit—five million USD. Show me the goods. If everything’s in order, I’ll pay the rest in full immediately.”
The bald man snatched the USB, plugged it into his laptop, and confirmed the amount. Then a crooked smile spread across his face. “The goods are here… but you know what? I suddenly feel like not doing this deal. Hand over all your money and entertain a few of us, maybe we’ll let you walk away alive.”
His henchmen immediately surrounded her, tapping steel pipes against their palms with a menacing “thump, thump.”
Shen Shuangshuang’s heart sank. Just as expected—black-on-black.
She took a calm step back, leaning against a nearby metal barrel. Keeping her tone casual, she said, “Boss, business has rules. If you do this, who’d ever dare work with you again?”
“Rules? I am the rules!”
The bald man reached for her arm.
Shen Shuangshuang crouched suddenly, using the barrel as cover, and silently thought, “Enter space.” The next moment, she vanished.
“Where did she go?”
The bald man’s hand grabbed empty air, frozen in surprise.
The henchmen searched the warehouse frantically, even behind the shelves—but Shen Shuangshuang was nowhere to be seen.
“This is… weird. Did a ghost snatch her?” one trembling henchman whispered.
The bald man kicked him. “Stop talking nonsense! She’s hiding somewhere! Keep looking!”
Inside the space, Shen Shuangshuang leaned on the grassy terrain of the livestock ranch, her heart still racing.
Just as she tried to catch her breath, the scenery before her began to shift.
The endless grassland slowly revealed the outline of the warehouse outside.
She thought, “Follow that black pickup,” and the space obeyed, moving with her will behind the bald man’s vehicle.
“So that’s how it works,” she murmured, her eyes lighting up.
Since these people didn’t play fair, she had no reason to hold back either.
Watching the external feed inside the space, she saw the bald man’s truck drive to a hidden valley on the outskirts of the city. There, a massive weapons base was concealed.
Once the gang entered the base, Shen Shuangshuang took a deep breath and willed the space inside the facility.
Grabbing an electric baton from the space, she kicked open the armory door.
Before anyone could react, she knocked them all out, one by one.
“Oh my…”
She stared at the warehouse in disbelief.
Along the walls were racks filled with firearms: handguns, submachine guns, rifles, all types. In the corners lay grenades and explosives.
Outside, a military helicopter was parked on the grounds, with several speedboats nearby. Even farther, at the dock, a small military vessel was moored.
“Now we’re safe,” she grinned, mentally storing all the weapons in the space’s preservation warehouse.
After all, the space was practically limitless; there was plenty of room.
With the weapons base secured, Shen Shuangshuang’s eyes turned to the adjacent farm.
She recalled seeing local specialties at M Country’s supermarkets. Since she was already here, she might as well take everything.
She walked along the farm fence and found large cheese workshops and chocolate factories. The warehouses were stacked with boxed products and freshly harvested wheat and corn.
“These are all premium goods.”
She didn’t hold back—cheese, chocolate, even the grain in the warehouse—all went into the space.
A few dairy cows were added to the livestock ranch. The piglets she’d previously placed scattered in panic, while she laughed and patted a cow. “You’ll provide the milk from now on.”
After looting everything she could, the farm owner in M Country realized the warehouses were empty and panicked, calling the police.
When the authorities arrived, they only saw an empty warehouse and unconscious gang members—no trace of Shen Shuangshuang’s presence.
At this point, Shen Shuangshuang was already seated in first-class on the plane back home.
Leaning against her seat and looking at the clouds outside, she mentally tallied her haul.
Her phone buzzed with a message from Shen Yaozong:
“Shuangshuang, the grain and oil factories’ inventories are cleared. I’ve instructed them to run at full capacity—should produce 20,000 tons daily. The textile mill said all cotton clothing will be prioritized for us.”
Soon after, photos arrived from Xiang Meimei, showing mountains of soap, towels, toilet paper, and rows of cotton clothing.
Her mother’s voice note came with a chuckle:
“Shuangshuang, Mom ordered extra thermal underwear and snow boots for you. Winters in ancient times will be cold—you can’t freeze.”
Shen Shuangshuang sent back a “Thanks, Mom and Dad” emoji, then set her phone down.
A nearby passenger leaned over. “Miss, are you visiting M Country too? I heard a lot of warehouses got looted recently. The police are going crazy.”
Shen Shuangshuang smiled but didn’t respond.
She couldn’t exactly say that all the loot had gone into her space.
She closed her eyes and reviewed the space’s contents:
The plane landed at a domestic airport. Shen Yaozong and Xiang Meimei were already at the exit.
Seeing Shen Shuangshuang with her suitcase, Xiang Meimei rushed over, holding her hands and scanning her from head to toe.
“How was it? Nothing happened on the way, right? I saw the news—M Country isn’t safe. I was so worried!”
“Mom, I’m fine. Look at me—see? All good.”
Shen Shuangshuang shook the bag in her hands. “And I brought back some nice stuff.”
In the car, Shen Yaozong asked as he drove, “How did the weapons deal go? Any trouble?”
“Had a little, but it’s resolved.”
Shen Shuangshuang briefly recounted her experience in M Country. When she mentioned taking down the gang’s weapons base, both parents gasped.
“My goodness! You’re too daring!” Xiang Meimei patted her chest. “Next time, don’t be so reckless. If something happened to you, what would we do?”
“Mom, I know my limits,” Shen Shuangshuang held her hand. “Those people tried to cheat me—I couldn’t just sit there. Plus, I discovered a new function in the space. It can follow me and move with me. Next time, if there’s danger, I can hide immediately.”
Shen Yaozong nodded, eyes full of admiration. “Good. Don’t pick fights, but don’t be afraid of them either. With these weapons, even if we face disorderly soldiers in the ancient era, we can protect ourselves.”
Back home, Shen Shuangshuang laid out the chocolate and cheese from M Country on the coffee table.
“Mom, Dad, try these. Specialty goods from M Country—taste pretty good.”
