Diagon Alley.

Leaky Cauldron.

Ivy Doom sat lazily licking an enormous ice cream cone mixed with strawberry jam and raspberry syrup, generously sprinkled with crushed hazelnuts.Full novel: The Wizard’s Path: Hogwarts to Strixhaven — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ever since his name mysteriously appeared in the Book of Admittance yesterday, he had officially been allowed to enroll at Hogwarts as a first-year student for the upcoming term.

Originally, Ivy had planned to stay inside Hogwarts itself.

Unfortunately, Albus Dumbledore firmly declared:

“No preschool-aged child should ever be permitted to live at Hogwarts before the school term begins.”

And just like that, Ivy had been unceremoniously kicked out to Diagon Alley.

Before Severus Snape dragged him away, however, Ivy had managed to catch sight of the hurriedly arriving Rubeus Hagrid.

To be honest, watching someone of Hagrid’s size squeeze through the oak doorway of the Headmaster’s Office was genuinely a difficult thing to witness.

Especially after Hagrid spotted the glowing Slytherin relic robes Ivy was wearing and immediately screamed before smashing his head straight into the doorframe.

The resulting cracking noise sounded alarmingly close to structural collapse.

For a brief moment, nobody could tell whether they should be more worried about Hagrid’s skull or the poor office doorway.

Fortunately, Dumbledore casually repaired the damaged wood with a flick of his finger, leaving Ivy unable to overhear whatever conversation followed inside.

Still, based on the original storyline, Ivy could easily guess what was happening.

Hagrid had probably been sent to collect Harry Potter and retrieve the Philosopher’s Stone from Gringotts Wizarding Bank at the same time.

Even though Ivy knew all of this perfectly well, there was no possible way he could ask Dumbledore to let him accompany Hagrid.

Missing the opportunity to meet “The Boy Who Lived” still left him feeling a little disappointed.

After all, Harry was a chosen savior.

And technically…

so was he.

Maybe saviors could exchange notes or something.

Afterward, Snape escorted Ivy through Hogwarts’ fireplace network and directly into the Leaky Cauldron.

Originally, Snape intended to help Ivy apply for a student assistance loan.

But after watching Ivy casually pull a massive handful of gold Galleons from the Doom Spell Tome, he immediately turned around and left without another word.

Only a single sentence remained drifting through the air behind him:

“I trust that a former fifth-year Slytherin will neither burst into tears from being left alone nor create enough trouble to miss the Opening Feast.”

After a surprisingly friendly conversation with Tom, Ivy successfully rented a room on the second floor of the Leaky Cauldron as a temporary hiding place until the Hogwarts term began.

When the long and exhausting day finally came to an end, Ivy sat alone inside his room, carefully examining both his own body and the only magical artifact still in his possession—

The Doom Spell Tome.

The wand crafted entirely from goblin silver—the specialized Ancient Magic wand—remained in Dumbledore’s hands.

Even by the time Ivy left the Headmaster’s Office, Dumbledore had shown absolutely no intention of returning it.

Thankfully, Ivy had never relied particularly heavily on that wand anyway. You are reading on g.com, the official source.

After all, he was a legendary dark wizard capable of chaining together Avada Kedavra through curse propagation.

Losing one wand wasn’t exactly the end of the world.

More than a century ago, Ivy had been a tall and handsome young wizard.

With a face like his, he had undoubtedly stolen the hearts of countless boys and girls without even realizing it.

Unfortunately, at the time, he had been too busy protecting magical creatures from Ashwinder poachers to worry much about romance.

And after being sealed inside Ancient Magic crystal for over a century, he had even less time for such nonsense.

However, after escaping the crystal prison, his body had undergone dramatic changes.

Not only had he failed to age—

He had physically become younger.

After comparing his height to a doorframe earlier that day, Ivy made the tragic discovery that he was now less than 1.3 meters tall.

He was literally the size of a child.

Honestly, that was probably the real reason the Book of Admittance had accepted him.

Still, Ivy firmly believed that as time passed, he would eventually recover the height and physique he possessed a century ago.

If there was any good news, it was that he seemed to have developed a far deeper understanding of the Ancient Magic within his body.

Not only had he effortlessly used Ancient Magic to destroy his own wand during the clash against Dumbledore, but he could now also strengthen the Doom Spell Tome itself using Ancient Magic energy.

And when he finally reopened this familiar yet strangely unfamiliar magical book after more than a century apart—

He instantly realized something.

The overpowered transmigrator cheat ability that had been delayed for a hundred years…

Had finally arrived.

The predecessor of the Doom Spell Tome had originally been The Wizard’s Practical Guide, a magical notebook Ivy received from Professor Weasley when he first enrolled at Hogwarts as a transfer student over a century ago.

At first, it had merely served as a convenient notebook for reviewing magical knowledge at any time.

But as Ivy’s magical abilities steadily grew stronger, the book gradually developed additional functions.

The first was a map system.

Unlike the Marauder’s Map, however, this map could not display the names of other people.

It only showed the current location of the owner.

Then came the storage function.

Using the Extension Charm, Ivy stored countless potion ingredients and magical creature materials gathered from the Forbidden Forest inside the book, along with his homemade potions, looted Galleons, and an embarrassingly large collection of fashionable clothing.

Perhaps because it had spent more than a century immersed beside Ancient Magic itself, The Wizard’s Practical Guide had now completely transformed into a genuine magical grimoire—

The Doom Spell Tome.

And the moment Ivy opened the title page, he clearly saw his own status screen staring back at him.
