Ning Yu took a deep breath, pinching her fingers to suppress her anger as she spoke. If it weren’t for Xiao Zhang still being present, she would have already said something much harsher.

“Ning Yu is finally here. Sister Ning scolds so well—I even want to curse him out myself.”

“He was actually quite obedient, playing quietly with his toys without disturbing his sister while she did her homework. He only went to get water himself after calling for his dad when he was thirsty and got no response. Then, when the cup broke, he got scolded by his dad, who was immersed in the King’s Canyon…”

The three grown men, publicly scolded by Ning Yu, all looked rather uncomfortable.

Especially Xiao Wang, who also had a bad temper. He stood up, flushed with anger, and said, “What’s wrong with me scolding him when he broke something? I’m just teaching him a lesson.”

Xiao Zhang was also feeling overwhelmed, but she maintained her clarity of thought, wanting to communicate properly with the child’s father: “He said he called you the first time, but you didn’t hear him. Why didn’t you hear him? Is the living room that big?”

Xiao Wang was stumped by his wife’s question and tried to justify himself: “I was busy with something at the time.”

Su Yuan frowned: “And that ‘something’ was playing games?”

It was enough to make one laugh in frustration.

Anyone who didn’t know better would think you had some important business to attend to.

And this is what it was???

“You’re a man in your thirties, so engrossed in playing games that you didn’t notice your two-year-old son, which led to the cup breaking. You keep holding onto your phone while scolding him—you really have some nerve, and your skin is thick enough.”

Ning Yu pointed at the ground, then at Xiao Wang: “You knew he was just a toddler. You knew your wife wasn’t around because she had something urgent to attend to. As a father, why didn’t you take proper care of the child? Don’t you think you’re in the wrong?”

“Then I also have the right to play games.”

Su Yuan gave a cold look: “Yes, you have the right to play games, but you also have the obligation to take care of your child. Raising a child isn’t just her responsibility alone.”

Ning Yu said sarcastically: “It must feel great holding your phone and playing games, huh? By your logic, wouldn’t it be great if your wife spent all day scrolling through Douyin at home while still taking care of the child? Why don’t you try doing that? I think you must have drunk too much cooling oil—why do you love making such thoughtless remarks so much?”

Ning Yu suddenly slammed the table hard. Instantly, the entire living room fell into an eerie silence. Even the younger brother stopped crying, staring blankly at Ning Yu and swallowing nervously.

Having finally said what she had always wanted to say, Xiao Zhang felt as if her heart had been pierced. Her eyes reddened, looking as though she was about to cry.

“Let me clean up the floor first so the child doesn’t get hurt later.”

Lin Momo, her compassionate heart overflowing, broke the silence by squatting down to pick up the glass shards. Yuan Yuan obediently came over to help, a sight that softened everyone’s hearts.

Bullet Comments:

“You can tell Xiao Zhang has raised her child well. Yuan Yuan is really sensible. To put it bluntly, having a husband like this is no different from not having one at all. It might be better to be on her own.”

“How did this show turn into a trend of encouraging divorce?”

“It’s all the man’s fault. Look at how the child’s father behaves—I want to rush into the screen and punch him twice. Ning Yu, you really should scold him more. On this show, you’re speaking for all of us!””I’ve fallen for Ning Yu and Su Yuan. It’s true that only women truly understand women’s pain. Look at those men just standing there—what empathy do they even have?”

Just as both sides were glaring at each other with mutual disdain, Xu Yize stepped in to play the peacemaker. He stretched out his arms to intervene, saying, “Everyone, please sit down first. Let’s talk things out calmly.”

Lin Momo quickly followed up, “Yes, don’t get too worked up. Let’s discuss this properly.”

Only then did everyone take their seats. Xiao Zhang held her son in her arms, while Yuan Yuan went back to doing her homework. Ning Yu and Su Yuan sat on either side of Xiao Zhang, quietly observing the men across from them.

Ning Yu felt nothing but contempt. She had no expectations of hearing anything worthwhile from the men opposite her.

First, there was Xu Yize, her former crush—a typical scumbag who couldn’t be satisfied with what he had, always eyeing something else, and with a heavy dose of paternalistic lecturing.

Then there was Xue Mingyuan, who had just gone through a divorce due to his own infidelity. His split with his ex-wife had been messy, but thanks to his fans, he could whitewash his image and shift all the blame onto her. His character was questionable at best.

Next was Shi Yu, the most obscure idol to emerge from a domestic entertainment survival show—a dropout from the nine-year compulsory education system with plenty of scandals to his name. The only reason he hadn’t been called out was that he was too irrelevant for anyone to care.

And finally, the child’s father—at first glance, just a living, breathing human being.

What could she possibly expect from them?

Su Yuan had a bit more patience than Ning Yu, but not by much. With Ning Yu fuming and Xiao Zhang being the quiet type, it fell to her to speak up.

“You want your wife to change, but have you ever considered how exhausting it is for her to take care of two children all by herself? She simply doesn’t have any extra time to spend on herself.”

“I work hard too. Taking care of the entire household by myself is even more exhausting. I just want to recapture that feeling from before. As they say, life gets too tiring, and you need something fresh to balance it out. I don’t like this repetitive, day-in, day-out life.”

Xiao Wang had also calmed down and began to share his thoughts.

Lin Momo, who had been invisible for so long, finally spoke up. She said softly, “Let’s try to understand each other. Everyone is going through a hard time. If we just empathize a little more, things wouldn’t be so difficult.”

Live Comments:

“Momois right. If they just understood each other a bit more, wouldn’t that solve everything? This is between the two of them anyway. What’s the point of Ning Yu cursing so much? Why is she even getting involved?”

“First of all, this is a mediation show. Second, Ning Yu is right to call him out. And lastly, Lin Momo makes it sound so easy. If men could change, that would be a miracle. Who doesn’t know that? Can’t you see the guy keeps saying how hard he works, how exhausted he is—as if he’s the only one putting effort into this family?”

Ning Yu scoffed, “Mutual understanding is important, but I don’t think you truly grasp how hard your wife works.”

Live Comments:

“Exactly, I don’t think so either.”

“+1. Some things aren’t just about saying the right words. If you don’t get it, you just don’t get it. If he had the guts to take care of the kids for a week, he’d know exactly how it feels.”

Ignoring the expressions on everyone’s faces, Ning Yu continued, “I’ll say it again: she didn’t have those children by herself. When your wife is busy, you should step up and take care of the kids instead of playing games on your phone. If you’re not going to take responsibility for them, why even have children in the first place?”

Su Yuan agreed, “You’re definitely in the wrong here.”Lin Momo was a bit puzzled. “I think I can understand Dad. He’s tired enough from work, so of course his first reaction when he gets home is to lie down on the bed. It’s just like when we’re filming—whenever we have time, of course we find a place to rest!”

Ning Yu was amused. “Nowadays, can children grow up without relying on their parents and manage on their own?”

Lin Momo shrugged. “You can hire a nanny. Doesn’t everyone have an auntie at home?”
