After Feng Xianyue carefully helped Qin Wuchen into a sitting position, she sat behind him before gently pressing her hands on his back.
She closed her eyes and circulated her spiritual qi, wisps of ice spiritual energy entered his meridians, flowing carefully into every blocked pathway, repairing the damage of the battle.
The little dumpling had warned her to be careful, she had the nine yin physique which was dominated by ice, so Feng Xianyue had to be cautious, and not end up freezing his organs.
Slowly Feng Xianyue guided her qi to circulate through his body, healing his injuries.
However because this method requires them both to circulate spiritual energy through each others body, Feng Xianyue doing it alone was not enough to heal him and Qin Wuchen soon broke into a fit of rapid coughing.
“Ah…now what!”Feng Xianyue exclaimed standing, she immediately knelt before him watching as he slowly opened his eyes.
Qin Wuchen was disoriented and could hardly keep his eyes open, slowly the blurry figure before him became clear.
He was still together with that troublesome woman.
Sensing no hostility coming from her, Qin Wuchen inexplicably relaxed.
“What…are you doing?” Qin Wuchen slowly asked.
“Don’t worry” Feng Xianyue smiled lightly placing both hands on his shoulders.
“Trust me, i wouldn’t hurt you.
Just cooperate so I can heal you”
Qin Wuchen was dazed, since loosing his family, he had never had the luxury of trusting anyone.
It’s been years now, and he was used to being alone.
Who was she to demand his trust.
She was just a thief….
a crazy woman….
However Qin Wuchen strangely found himself nodding slowly to her words.
He told himself it was because he was to injured to argue.
But deep down, he knew the truth…
some part of him, buried beneath years of isolation, wanted to believe her.
Feng Xianyue soon settled before Qin Wuchen, facing eachother she grabbed his hands raising it so his palms were directly touching hers.
Qin Wuchen flinched, he attempted to pull away but only ended up recieving a stern look from Feng Xianyue.
“Don’t move”
Qin Wuchen was flabbergasted, was this her method of healing him.
How could she think of doing this with him.
However Qin Wuchen couldn’t afford to complain, with pain racking his body his mind soon became clouded.
“Slowly circulate your qi”
Feng Xianyue’s voice drifted pass Qin Wuchen’s ear and he complied.
With their knees touching and both palms joined, they both cultivated simultaneously, circulating qi in a complete circle.
The moment his qi entered her body, the dormant Nine Yin Physique stirred.
Instead of rejecting the foreign energy, it welcomed it.
A gentle warmth spread through her body, so different from the usual cold that she almost gasped.
Wherever it passed the strain left by the tribulation receded, replaced by an indescribable peace.
Her icy qi intertwined with his, forming a perfect cycle that neither of them had anticipated.
Though oblivious to this fact, Feng Xianyue’s body was the perfect furnace for complete healing.
With her wood spirit physique merged with the nine yin physique her already high healing attributes was enhanced.
Although Feng Xianyue’s qi was cold, Qin Wuchen felt no discomfort and soon the cold sensation running through his body completely healed his ruptured meridians.
Sighing in relief, Feng Xianyue glanced at Qin Wuchen and asked, “Do you feel better”
Qin Wuchen blinked his eyes staring at Feng Xianyue and suddenly fell on her shoulder.
“Hey…hey don’t just collapse on me” Feng Xianyue chided shaking his shoulders.
Noticing his lack of response, she realised that he had fainted.
“So heavy” she muttered
Leaning him against the wall, Feng Xianyue quickly examined his body and sighed in relief when she found out he was well.
But as she recalled that Qin Wuchen had saved her not once, but twice, she dragged a hand through her hair in frustration.
“How troublesome”
Nevertheless, Feng Xianyue could finally relax now, the incident at the mountain had been unexpected and intense.
She suddenly craved the comfort of a good meal, but then her gaze fell on the divine sword.
Grabbing it she immediately went into her space.
She couldn’t be selfish and hoard it for herself, afterall it held sentimental value to the little dumpling.
Heading to the spirit stone room in the hut, Feng Xianyue found Yueling sleeping.
Sighing she placed the divine sword beside him.
The sword pulsed faintly, as if recognising an old companion.
She smiled softly, brushing a hand over his tiny head.
“Sleep well, little dumpling.
We’ll figure out the rest together.”
After leaving, Feng Xianyue made her way to the spirit herb field and unearthed a jar of rice wine from the soil.
The moment she broke the seal, a rich, mellow fragrance drifted into the air.
She took a slow breath and smiled in satisfaction.
The wine’s aroma was intoxicating and every drop seemed to brim with dense spiritual energy.
She had brewed the rice wine before heading to the mountain, and buried it within the spirit herb field.
Her intention had been to allow the medicinal essence released from thousands of herbs to slowly temper the wine as it aged.
Judging by the fragrance alone, her experiment had been a complete success.
Feeling a bit mischievous, Feng Xianyue decided to prepare the meal outside the space this time.
Luckily during her battles with the numerous monsters she encountered earlier she stored most of the monster meat she could get her hands on.
*************
Qin Wuchen was hit with the aromatic scent of food the moment he opened his eyes.
He couldn’t believe he fell asleep in front of a stranger, totally letting down his guard.
Before he could react, Feng Xianyue flicked her sleeve, and a medium-sized wooden table appeared before him.
Three carefully prepared dishes were neatly arranged upon it, their enticing aroma drifting through the air.
“Let’s eat” said Feng Xianyue sitting opposite Qin Wuchen.
Seeing as he didn’t react a small smile pulled at her lips before she grabbed the chopsticks and began eating.
“See?
no poison” she said after taking a bite
Qin Wuchen glanced at the bowl beside Feng Xianyue but remained silent and started eating.
The moment he took a bite, his fingers stopped mid air for a moment before he dived back into the food.
As a cultivator who cultivated the emptyness path, he had long severed most of his desires for worldly things, yet he strangely found himself enjoying the meal before him.
Feng Xianyue passed him a small gourd and took a sip of hers.
“Ahhh…
it’s been so long” Feng Xianyue exclaimed reclining back to rest her weight on her hands.
“Hurry, try it and tell me what you think”
Qin Wuchen cautiously glanced at the gourd trying to resist the aromatic scent coiling around his nose.
Clearing his throat Qin Wuchen gave in and grabbed the gourd.
The moment he took a sip, the flavoury taste stunned him followed by the rich spiritual energy that circulated through his meridians strengthening his body and clearing his mind.
The biggest effect was the boost to his comprehension ability.
This wine could pass of as a peak grade clarity wine worth millions of spirit stones.
Qin Wuchen’s hand stilled.
He had drunk spiritual wines before….some from the imperial palace, others from sect treasuries.
None had come close to this.
Who was this woman?
A boost in clarity increases once intelligence and ability to comprehend any techniques without much effort. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
He had never heard of such a treasure appearing in the capital….was it recent and he just wasn’t aware of it.
“The…wine is nice” Qin Wuchen said, slowly raising his head to look at Feng Xianyue.
“I know right, one shouldn’t expect any less from the wine i brew” Feng Xianyue said clicking her gourd with Qin Wuchen which had paused midair.
“You brewed this wine”
“Yes, if you like it I can make more for you”
The words left her mouth before she could stop them.
She blinked, mildly surprised at herself.
Since when did she offer her hard work to strangers?
Then again, he had saved her life.
Qin Wuchen fell into a stunned silence, though he knew the girl before him was overly talented and strange he couldn’t understand how she could be so casual about her ability….as if she didn’t understand the gravity of them to the world.
“Thank you for the meal…and good wine” Qin Wuchen said and Feng Xianyue threw him a smile sipping her wine in contentment.
“Thank you for saving my life”Feng Xianyue began her gaze settling on Qin Wuchen’s jade-like face, who nodded slightly in acknowledgement.
“I am Feng Xianyue, What’s your name”
“Where is my dagger” Qin Wuchen suddenly asked breaking the comfortable atmosphere.
“Tell me your name first.” Feng Xianyue said her eyes glinting with mischief.
Though the man before her was strong and intimidating, what Feng Xianyue felt was the opposite.
She found him strangely adorable and enjoyed seeing him worked up.
“I have been merciful so far towards you it seems” Qin Wuchen said his eyes narrowing coldly.
Chuckling Feng Xianyue said, “I never asked you to be merciful or to save me”
“True, then now give it back” Qin Wuchen nodded extending his hand towards Feng Xianyue.
“Tell me your name”
“Haven’t you had enough of playing around”
“Not yet” Feng Xianyue said, placing the dagger on the wooden table.
Qin Wuchen eyes fell on the dagger and looked up to meet Feng Xianyue’s eyes, the moment he moved to grab it, Feng Xianyue instantly took it back as if playing a game of tag.
Standing up in a hurry Feng Xianyue pushed the dagger into her robe with only the hilt now visible.
She met his gaze, a challenge in her eyes.
If he wanted it, he would have to come get it.
“It seems like you want to play” Qin Wuchen stood his lips twitching almost imperceptible.
“Hmmm, who knows”
Feng Xianyue took a step back as Qin Wuchen walked towards her.
Soon her back hit the wall….cold, rough, grounding.
She stared up at him, heart hammering against her ribs, his presence so close she could feel the faint warmth radiating from his body.
Lowering his head to meet her gaze, Qin Wuchen stared into Feng Xianyue’s eyes and asked, “what do you gain from provoking me, hmm”
His piercing gaze bore into Feng Xianyue’s eyes and her heart sped up.
Why was she acting this way?
She couldn’t understand…..was it the wine?
Is she drunk?
is that why she was flirting so blatantly with a walking predator….a stranger at that?
Yes, they met twice, or was it thrice, but still?
she knew absolutely nothing about him.
Her throat suddenly felt dry, “I…I…” Feng Xianyue stammered looking anywhere but Qin Wuchen’s eyes.
Just then a smirked pulled at his lips…
subtle…almost imperceptibly, but devastatingly beautiful.
Feng Xianyue gaped in shock, in all her encounters, she had never seen him smile…
not once.
How could someone look so beautiful yet so annoying…
Comment it and let me know.
