One minute earlier.

“How have I been digging for so long without finding a single piece of iron?”

Fu Mo stopped working in frustration.Full novel: This Minecraft Feels a Bit Like Honkai: Star Rail — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

At first, he’d thought he would quickly find iron.

A full set of iron armor might have been asking too much, but an iron pickaxe and iron sword should have been no problem.

Yet two hours had passed, and forget iron—he hadn’t seen a single piece of Coal Ore or even common stone like Diorite or Granite!

Helpless, Fu Mo had no choice but to give up on mining for iron for now.

He might as well return to the surface and find some food first.

Thus, Fu Mo raised his pickaxe and swung it at the Cobblestone overhead.

At the same time, he activated Vein Miner, intending to dig a passage straight upward.

That would save him the trouble of repeatedly looking up to mine and place blocks.

Not long after opening the passage overhead, however, he spotted a dark figure plummeting from above.

Screams echoed through the passage as the figure fell, and Fu Mo instinctively held out his arms.

He caught Qingque as she fell from above and instinctively gave her warm, jade-smooth thighs a squeeze.

The heat of her skin immediately traveled through his fingertips, making Fu Mo look up at the passage entrance.

“Did I dig into a village?”

But he quickly realized something was wrong.

Aside from Vein Miner, he hadn’t installed any visual enhancement MODs, Touhou maid MODs, or any other MODs that could alter villager models.

The girl in his arms clearly wasn’t a villager from Minecraft, so there was no way he’d dug into a village.

After thinking it over and taking the two Buffs the System had previously given him into account, he concluded that he hadn’t transmigrated into the Minecraft World, but some other world instead.

No wonder he couldn’t find iron.

Fu Mo had thought his random digging had somehow avoided every deposit of Iron Ore and Coal Ore!

So the problem lay with this world, not him.

In that case, everything was fine!

“Um…

Thank you for catching me, but could you put me down now?”

Qingque squirmed in Fu Mo’s arms, her face flushed.

It was her first time being held so intimately by a man, and she wasn’t used to it.

“You’re welcome.

It was nothing.”

Fu Mo set Qingque down.

The moment her feet touched the ground, she instinctively surveyed her surroundings.

Behind Fu Mo was a perfectly straight passage, with two side tunnels branching out every few meters like the bones of a fish.

It was her first time seeing such an unusual method of excavation.

Under normal circumstances, Qingque would’ve asked a few questions to satisfy her curiosity.

But a pack of monsters was still guarding the cave entrance, so she had no time for that.

Right now, her mind was filled with the desire to survive.

“Hey, you need to seal the entrance right now!

There are lots of monsters outside.

If they fall in, we’ll have nowhere to run!”

Hearing this, Fu Mo immediately took out a block and casually sealed the entrance overhead.

The entire mine instantly plunged into pitch-black darkness.

However, the darkness didn’t last long.

Before Qingque’s eyes could adjust, a soft orange flame suddenly lit up before her—a torch had somehow appeared in Fu Mo’s hand.

Seeing Fu Mo holding the torch, Qingque instinctively covered her nose and mouth to avoid inhaling the smoke.

After watching for a while, however, she realized that the torch wasn’t producing any smoke whatsoever.

It clearly looked like an ordinary torch without any advanced technology, yet it produced no smoke.

How extraordinary.

“You said there are monsters outside?

Are they strong?”

Fu Mo was more concerned about the situation outside.

He knew nothing about this other world, much less how powerful its monsters were.

He didn’t even have a single piece of leather armor right now, so one hit would probably leave him critically wounded.

Then again, because of the Buffs the System had given him, everything involving him now followed Minecraft Rules above all else.

If he personally killed monsters from this other world, would they drop some unique items?

What if those drops could be used to craft special equipment?

Once the idea appeared, it spiraled out of control.

Fu Mo kept glancing upward, itching to go outside and take a look.

Qingque noticed the change in his expression and hurriedly stopped him.

“Don’t do anything reckless!

Those monsters outside are terrifying!

They run incredibly fast.

If you hadn’t dug this pit, they probably would’ve caught me already!”

“They move quickly, huh…”

Fu Mo immediately began considering ways to deal with that type of monster.

Pillaring up definitely wouldn’t work.

Most monsters in Minecraft had no knees and couldn’t jump, so that tactic worked on them.

But this was another world.

Creatures in a proper world could jump to some extent; only the height varied.

Still, just because that trick wouldn’t work didn’t mean he had no other options.

The Boat Trap Technique, the Slab Foot-Stabbing Technique…

In just a brief moment, Fu Mo thought of nine different ways to deal with monsters possessing high movement speed.

With that thought, Fu Mo immediately took a Crafting Table from his Inventory and placed it on the ground.

He then used the stone he’d just mined to make a Stone Sword.

When Qingque saw the crude-looking Stone Sword appear from thin air in Fu Mo’s hand, she knew he intended to go outside and confront the monsters.

“Think this through!

Those monsters are terrifying!

Believe me, we can’t outrun them!”

Fu Mo gave Qingque a reassuring look.

“Relax.

I know what I’m doing.”

Seeing Fu Mo’s confidence, Qingque relaxed slightly and felt an immense sense of security.

This young man might be unfamiliar, but since he dared to face those monsters with nothing but a shabby Stone Sword, perhaps he was actually some kind of expert.

With that thought, even the Stone Sword in Fu Mo’s hand suddenly seemed extraordinary to her.

Although it looked crude, its blade was unlike an ordinary sword.

It was covered in serrations, each one identical down to the smallest detail.

Clearly, someone had painstakingly carved them.

Could this sword actually be a divine sword that merely looked ordinary?

With her sense of security restored, the curiosity Qingque had suppressed came surging back.

Her eyes sparkled as she stared at Fu Mo, and she couldn’t resist asking.

“Could you be a swordsmanship grandmaster?”

“A swordsmanship grandmaster?

Me?”

Fu Mo pointed at his own nose and shook his head in amused disbelief.

“You’re overthinking it.

I’m just an ordinary person.”

Qingque’s heart skipped a beat, and half of her sense of security instantly vanished.

If he wasn’t a swordsmanship grandmaster, why would Fu Mo dare to seek out those monsters?

Could it be because of the sword in his hand?

“Then could that sword in your hand be a divine sword that’s been sealed away for many years?”

“No.

I just made it from two stones and a stick.”

Qingque’s remaining sense of security vanished completely.

She tugged at the ends of her hair in exasperation.

“Then why are you still going out to fight those monsters?!

Play it safe and stop feeding, okay?

Can’t we wait for our teammates to arrive before starting the team fight?!”

“Because I want all the experience for myself.”
