[Plate Apocalypse: Cheat Code] (Chapter 10 Part 1)

The surroundings shook, a sign that the screening started.

Fryswyde whispered to his teammate Hesychia, “What should we do?”Full novel: To Not Die in Vain — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

「The skill ‘Accurate Prediction 10%’ is currently activated.」

Cheat code…

“1 hectare can be compared to one rugby field.

Wakaito Stadium from Jiyūkoku is near the measurement, you can roughly visualize it from there on out.

It’s pretty small, I can just walk around.” Aris said, cooperating.

“Why does it say cheat code, anyway?”

The silver-haired man interfered, “Each box needs to be thoroughly investigated.

This includes checking everything.”

Hesychia kept her head level down, cracking her fingers.

She then opened her mouth, “This Screening needs to eliminate the other group,”

Aris, “But didn’t it just say we can’t kill them?”

“Yes, that’s not what I mean by eliminate.”

The other two stood silently, listening.

“To get a 100% exploration, one group should own all of those hundred boxes.

This means, completely stopping our opponents from claiming anything.

In what way?

By trapping them.

Once they were able to claim one square, it would become their area.

The rules didn’t state anything about how to erase their ownership.

What should we do for them to not get in our way?”

“Killing them is the only way to probably erase their ownership permanently.

If not, we’ll just go back and forth in competition to steal each box.” Fryswyde answered.

“However, killing them will defy the game rules.” Hesychia calmly muttered, “Therefore the only way to confine them is to trap the other group at their starting point before they even have the chance to claim any box.

Violence is okay as long as we don’t kill them.

Sabotaging them won’t last long if they have more offense than us.”

Fryswyde’s pale colored eyes subtly looked down, “Hm…

We sure are lacking on attack.

Armani is heavily injured and Miss Astrid also has a bandaged arm.”

Hesychia slid down her sleeves that subtly revealed the white gauze on the tip of her wrists.

“That’s still not healed?” Aris asked but was ignored.

“The other group might’ve already thought of this, and will hunt us down.

They are at an advantage when it comes to killing, they won’t let themselves lose.

They won’t allow us to easily conquer this screening.” Hesychia continued, referring to Fryswyde, “But if there could be a slight possibility, can you trap them?”

“I can try.” Fryswyde answered, “Are you going to be exploring all squares?”

“No, not on my own, I will need Armani’s help on that.” Hesychia started, admitting her weakness.

She then commented, “you seem confident in stopping them?”

“I disagree, I was just planning on giving my best.” Fryswyde mysteriously gave a smile.

Hesychia stared at the other man.

Fryswyde is a very weird person who has this kind face.

Although calm and approachable, under the mask was something hidden.

Anyhow, back to the problem at hand.

The mechanical voice gave the title cheat code to this screening yet there was nothing that resembles a “cheat.” For now, the woman still hasn’t figured out what the cheat was.

This screening will need to eliminate the other group on time to be completed.

Elimination means death so it wasn’t strange why Armani asked about it.

If someone can make a move and let the other group accidentally break the rules, the mechanical voice will punish them.

Using this logic, it is impossible to clear this screening by killing the other group and take the 100% exploration without misfortune.

Hesychia carefully observed the man’s expression, “You’re not trying to get yourself killed are you?”

“Sacrificing myself for someone this early is a little bit…

unnatural.

Don’t you think so, Miss Astrid?” The silver-haired man answered.

The only solution on Hesychia’s team is for one of them to trap Caelum and Fryn, maybe Jerichoa if he’ll be in the way too, then her team will swiftly explore the island.

This solution can only be applied to strong groups where they can independently complete a hard task.

For Hesychia’s current group, it will be a strain and a huge risk.

Of course, who’s stupid enough to not fight back, and give up their win?

In the end, the meaning of losing this screening means death.

There are also possibilities that even if the idea is ejected, Hesychia might become the scapegoat.

Are her current companions willing to die with her if they fail?

Hesychia doesn’t know.

She believes that no matter how long someone’s friendship is, especially for a bond between total strangers—humans are still humans and will find a way to survive even if it’s severing another species’ head.

Of course, fighting will also be unavoidable.

Estimating for ten days, one of the teams needs to at least have half of the jungle or more to gain a proper footing.

For another ten days, a winner must be accountable to claim the price as the losers will offer their lives.

Hesychia is well aware of her capabilities, and fighting the other group alone or exploring alone is not part of her expertise.

She can tell that no matter what criteria, she’s completely useless and powerless.

But there’s no use trashing herself over this, she needs to plan an escape route.

What’s the cheat code of this screening?

The cheat code must be the third ending.

Where both groups will survive without doing dangerous things.

Or, both groups get eliminated.

Unless they want to slaughter each other, everyone will team up to clear this screening without dying.

Maybe lady luck would smile on them and a miracle will happen?

Then, who’s the darling of the heavens that will probably achieve the third ending?

Hesychia clicked her tongue, “Trapping them completely will be impossible.”

“Miss Stubborn, breaking the rules is not only about making them kill someone on our team as a scapegoat.” Aris said, scooting over to the woman’s side.

“Instead of making them break the rules with uncertainty, we can lead them in a scenario where they will kill each other.

This won’t violate the rule yet they will be handicapped.”

Hesychia turned to the other person, staring at the young Armani’s eyes.

“…”

That’s when she realized the third ending is way too hopeful.

“That’s right,” Fryswyde hummed.

“If we can manipulate them to kill each other, with their monstrous type of strength, it is surely a dead end for them.”

「The skill ‘Accurate Prediction 10%’ is currently activated.」

“You can make them fight.”

The silver-haired person was surprised that he even pointed a finger at himself, “Me?”

Feeling slightly uncomfortable, Fryswyde adjusted the tightness of his collar looking over the tab floating silently beside his view.

Other skills are hidden underneath the dots where the man subtly looked.

Was this woman able to see these?

Is it some type of her ability?

How could she know he can make them fight?

Hesychia repeated, knocking him back to reality.

“I need you to clear this.”

Fryswyde paused, giving a funny expression.

“The cheat I have in mind is you, how is it me?”

“Flattering.”

“Aren’t you the one leading?

So it is indeed you.”

Hesychia sighed, wondering what’s wrong with his head.

Aris cleared her throat, “I’m here, yoohoo.”

Hesychia tilted her head, “You will either hide away from your future killers or be the bait to distract them.

If they are stupid enough, they might blindly follow you around like dogs which has a very low chance.

Or smart enough to clear this screening, killing you at the same time.

You are a very risky piece.”

Aris smirked, “That means I am special.”

“Special child.”

“Hey!”

Hesychia was about to set her foot at the other side of the line indicating the end of the safe square when Fryswyde pulled her back.

Hiding the woman behind.

The man’s hand materialized a platinum blade, thrusting forward to clash with another person.

Wait, materializing a weapon from thin air?

From the game Plate Apocalypse, all players have this skill to summon their available weapon in combat!

Aris immediately revealed another gun from her pockets, aiming at the person at the same time.

Right in front of them, a man dressed in all black pushed forward his weapon.

Unlike Fryswyde, Armani brought out weapons in a usual way.

From this, it can be concluded that not anyone has the ability to do what Fryswyde did yet.

Fryswyde smiled, holding the clash in place, “Perhaps you’re Caelum Rigel that is mentioned by the mechanical voice, nice to meet you.

Are you planning on trapping us?”

Hesychia looked at them with a blank face, only the goosebumps on her arms showed her reaction.

At the back of the tall man, areas were marked with a black light, a timer floating on it.

Looks like he triggered many squares and set all the timers up.

Aris, “Miss Stubborn you almost died!”

On the other side, a white haired woman peeked at their box.

An ice covered spear on her hand, “Looks like Cae was right, the three of you have a very slow analyzing capacity.”

Fryn Howl darted the spear towards Aris’ gun muzzle, grinning like a madman.

“I was thinking of a solution, Miss Astrid was doing the same until the two of you came.

We’re not clumsy enough to just trigger all of the timers on the boxes.” Fryswyde’s voice was calm and controlled, yet there was a hint of contempt in it.

Hesychia stared at the blade in between the silver-haired man’s hands.

There were no traces of its location yet there he is, easily clashing over with some assassins.

Did he also lie about not having the abilities to fight?

It was a miracle that he didn’t blast away after receiving the blow from the black clothed person.

Caelum’s irises slowly diverted to the woman standing beside Fryswyde, “…”

Meanwhile, a shot from Aris’ gun went towards the woman’s spear indicating the start of war.

Fryn’s duplicated ice spear broke in half as Aris grabbed Hesychia’s wrist, “Let’s go!”

Fryswyde pushed Hesychia forward, “I’ll handle these two, they won’t be able to follow for at least thirty minutes.

I’ll find you.”

Thirty minutes??

You can handle them that long?

“Confident as ever, Rank One Von Himmel.” Fryn didn’t mind the other two planning to escape and pushed forward with two broken weapons.

Rank…
