“I see, a mist, as old as time, dark hues dancing with brighter ones, no up or down, no life, just stillness beyond time itself, truly best described as the lack of ‘something’…”

Well I guess it’s to late now, after all I pulled out my poetic side to describe such a view in the mirror, and I am sure they will be more questions thrown at me, seriously where is the teacher?

We are doing a dam ritual and the teacher is now where to be found… 』

“A mist?” Cleo said leaning in, “I can’t think of any affinity about mist and clouds, I don’t even think you fall into the dark side either, so it’s more then likely a reflection of self.”

『 Self eh?

So, I am the mist?

That doesn’t sit well, I guess nothing seems right at all, like why was there a red star, and why was I inside of my gate?

Maybe the gate was a ‘gate’ in the traditional sense like another world, mmm, ugh..

This is all to confusing for the first day of school!

』

Alex got up, seeing that the mirror had started to fade back into his reflection, he raised his pointer finger to his mouth tasting the small prick in thought, 『 Even if my gate is the mist, or a gate to the mist, that still doesn’t fit with anything on the board right now, like that angel and why I am here.

It doesn’t add up, if anything it links the mist to my gate, and that is useless right now…

『 I wonder, what would happen if I could go inside of my gate?

After all, since it’s a link to the mist, mm, that wouldn’t help though since I don’t want to die again, and who knows if I will get another chance like this…

I don’t know why the red start moved in such a way either or even the rules of the mist, so it would be useless to know in my current state, however there may be something in the future that could help me Visit novelping.com for the full chapter.

understand the mist better… 』

“So a mist uh?” Shim said, he had been watching the two and was intrigued by what Alex had described, Shim looked over at Alex and spoke once more; “Your gate is black, the inside is mist, the outside mana is fine, your fine, your gate is just pitch black, and that’s all we know… It seems like a common problem, yes I know about this problem very well actually!…”

Cleo raised his eyes along side Alex, how did Shim know of all people?

It seemed odd, but like all things today, they where always slightly off, so Alex didn’t pay to much mind, thinking; 『 These kids sure know a lot more then I knew at there age, but I am quite surprised it was Shim who knew about this black gate ‘problem’..

』

“You know about the problem, Shim?” Both Cleo and Alex had said the same thing, causing them to look at each other before Shim stole there attention back saying;

“Heh, I am surprised nobody had noticed until now, the problem…” He said smirking closing his eyes, he bathed in the attention before him, slowly raising his hand high up into the sky, “The PRobleM!” He shouted, “Is”

he moved closer, “That” he started to drum roll with his tongue and voice, “We” taking a final step up onto one of the chairs of the church, shouting;

“We DoN’T KnOw! Yes That’s the problem, heh, we don’t know, ahahah, truly we are for a lack of knowledge, yes that’s right we have no KnowLedGe!!”

Cleo only slapped his hand against his face, such an answer was not befitting of an entire build up, Alex however didn’t mind, even if he was stupid what he said it he was true.

『 Knowledge hey?

I guess I am lacking behind on quite a bit, that that’s what school is for, if the teacher showed up that is… 』

Almost jinxing his position, The wide arch doors opened, this sent shock into Shim who was still standing on a chair positioned as the light from the outside covered his back, “Knowledge?” The man in the door said, “Why if you weren’t standing on a chair, I would think you would want to learn, Shim..” Shim froze at the old man’s voice stepping down from the chair, the old man then shut the door behind him letting the room fall back to it’s semi lighten state.

It was clear to Alex, who by now was trying to scan the man, that he was in fact the teacher.

His long white hair, slightly slatted poster, darker eyes witch matched his darker clothes, and his dark book on the likes of a grimoire in his hands.

The old man walked closer, and closer, if Alex hadn’t know his title work, he would say being a wizard.

His long white hair, and grimoire gave it away, but he wasn’t a wizard as far as Alex knew he was just an old man who was a teacher, perhaps he had also worked in the church and was given this job of a teacher.

The old man walked up until he was in front of Alex Shim and Cleo, “Well then,” He said lowly, Cleo and Shim scattering around to get in line with Alex, the old man spoke once they all where in line; “Sorry for my lateness, please do forgive, but we have a new child, what’s your name little one?” The old man lent down staring into Alex who was on the side of Shim and Cleo, even though Cleo and Shim knew him to be Alex as they had mingled prior to the teacher’s arrival.

Alex had forgot that the old man didn’t know who he was, maybe Alex thought the old man was wise enough to already know of Alex, but he didn’t.

Alex took a breath in, seeing how tense Shim and Cleo had moved just now,

Alex held his hand out for a shake saying; “I am Alex, it’s short for Alexander, but you can feel free to call me Alex, what might your name be, teacher?”

The old man was quite shocked by how well Alex had handling the greeting, most kids like Cleo would be to shy to shake the hand of a man who looked as old has him.

A slight sigh of relief crossed the old man, taking his spare hand out to shake the boy’s, something was different, something in Alex’s eyes, something strangely mature like they where on equal terms.

The old man didn’t hesitate, he just quietly watched before speaking letting go of Alex’s hand;

“Good, Welcome to my School Alex, I am glade to have another join the ranks of Shim and Cleo, and I have a sneaking feeling this year is going to be easy with you… AS for my name, feel free to say teacher, but my real name is Sharku, but I much prefer elder or teacher, understand?”

Alex nodded his head, the old man Sharku seemed to like being old, sticking with elder or teacher was fine for Alex, since he very much was.

But the name Sharku seems to ring a bell, a bell Alex couldn’t put his finger on, he thought;

『 Sharku, where have I heard that before?

He looks much of a teacher though, like a wise old man who works for the school, but the way Shim and Cleo are… He might be a pain, he seems kind, but Cleo and Shim tell a different story, maybe he is just strict?

I guess I should play my cards right then, I should lay low and be kind and respectful, best to not get on the Elders bad side, ew, Elder doesn’t role off the tongue… 』

“Well then,” The old man said, “Let’s get prepared for out first lesson of the year, Math… Shim and Cleo, you show Alex around, and let him help out, I will be here getting ready as well…”
