Almost like Roland had said, time flew by, not in fragments like before with

Alex’s childhood.

It was a weird mix, Alex had been there and lived yes, but it also wasn’t fragmented memory’s anymore, it was almost like anytime Cael thought deeply time would slow, and anytime he just rolled with the wind time would fly.Full novel: Tower of Letters — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

So this created a weird mix of the two,

Cael no longer had a subconscious, so any mindless operations like breathing where sent there, but Cael rather though that his ‘soul’ or

‘essences’ was the controller of mind.

So the act of handing operations off to the subconscious was like ‘leaving’ he didn’t consider Alex to be that subconscious, if anything Cael had been growing into the name

Alex.

So when he didn’t feel like doing anything or almost skipping forwards he would hand a bigger load off to the subconscious, of course this wasn’t perfect.

As if he was questioned with a difficult task or his name was called the load would snap under it’s own weight and force Cael into thinking.

He didn’t plan to ‘skip’ ahead, since his family would notice the difference between the Sub-Alex and the real Alex, but this ‘power’

was handy to Cael, as he would still gain memory’s as Sub-Alex was in control.

But this ‘power’ isn’t exclusive to just Cael or Alex, many people do this from a day to day basis, have you every seen someone ‘zone-out’ it’s the same thing here.

Cael would just ‘zone-out’ and suddenly he isn’t doing mindless things, this was something he didn’t use a lot though, it was mainly for things that didn’t matter like brushing your teeth or doing chores.

Mindless things that didn’t benefit Cael in anyway where normally ‘skipped’ skip is a harsh word though, he was still there, he was just more

‘laid-back’ perhaps, he didn’t need to be conscious all the time.

Today was different though…

Along Cael’s smooth sail of early childhood, he used the ‘laid-back’ power to fast forwards some things, but his time eventfully started to speed up nearing this day.

He was seven now, his body was almost double it’s size, and nothing to eventful happened, four years went by like a flash

Everyone had still been there, Roland was doing his late nights sorting books,

Tiffen was still helping maintain the house, Eveline had still been there teaching Alex and helping out with things around the house.

Alex had been outside of the gate a few times, like his sixth birthday Alex along side everyone else went out for a day to that very same ‘field’

that Roland had described.

They had played in the lushes grass and have a lovely time, so at the very least even if the days where flying by Alex was happy to spend time with his family.

Even Alex’s room in the house eventfully had got a bed, along side whatever else Alex had hanged up on his walls.

He was happy, and even more exited, days where spent preparing for this morning, Tiffen had got up early, Roland had delayed his work, and Eveline had been prepping for this moment for weeks.

Countless dinners, and chats had been spent on this moment, and Alex who had figured to roll with the punches was happy, as this was the first time he was going to school.

Well in his last life he had been to school briefly, so if anything it was his second formal time going, but to everyone else it was his first.

“Well are you ready?” Eveline said holding his small bag and with a look of concern she questioned further; “You look nervous, are you okay? Do you want me to walk you there?”

『 If anything your the nervous one, I may look young but I am still quite old… 』 He thought walking down the hallway.

His new bedroom was opposites

Tiffen’s, and side by side to Roland’s and Eveline’s room, but he spoke carefully seeing as she was the one who was the most concerned;

“I am okay, I have done this many times before, remember?” He said testing her memory, she put a hand to her chin diving into thought, it was true that he had walked to the city and back a few times before.

‘Still a concerned mother is a concerned Mother’ She was still in thought when

Roland’s face came by the hallway in which Eveline and Alex where standing, he said looking at them both;

“I still have to go in today, so I can walk him halfway anyway.” Though

Roland was torn on whether he should or shouldn’t it was still undeniable he had to go halfway into town, so taking in Alex wasn’t that hard to do considering his schedule.

“There, I will go with Dad then…” Alex added his stance on before Eveline had a moment to react to everything, regarding whether or not it was okay to let a seven year old wander around town wasn’t that hard of a question.

Most of the Town’s people where old heads, most of them new about Tiffen,

Eveline, and Roland, and had hear story’s of such a miracle child from New chapters come out on g.com first.

the house of Roland.

So even if someone had bad intentions, it would be quite hard to pull such a stunt off, and a secret power which Alex had was well he wasn’t a child.

This was like telling a twenty-something year-old he can’t walk back and fourth from his town, of course this was a secret so nobody knew how illogical they sounded to Cael, but I digress.

“Good, that sorts it…” Roland said walking through the crowed hallway, back into his room to supposedly grab something of his that he needed, Alex looked up at Eveline as Roland walked passed.

She was at a loss of words, her head was slightly overwhelmed by this quick talk between Alex and Roland, she curled her blond hair around her finger saying;

“I guess that’s alright, If Roland is taking you halfway, but promise me to be safe, okay?” She said will a look of concern holding out her pinky finger, Alex also joined her pinky finger shaking he said;

“Promise!” Though he yelled slightly, it wasn’t that loud, Roland’s hand then rested on-top of Alex’s head he said seeing they promise they just made;

“Where off then, see you later..”

Eveline stepped out of the way hugging the side of the door so they could pass, Alex led the way with Roland following behind.

Eveline said with a compassionate tilt of her head to Roland as he went past, “Ill see you two later then… Oh, make sure you say by to Tiffen as well…”

As they exited the hallway Alex understood what she meant, Tiffen was curled into a ball, her glasses where tilted and his eyes where twitching, with a small paper under her nose, it was clear she was very sick.

Though he had never seen Tiffen in such a way, he didn’t mind it, if anything he had hope she would pull through and beat the sickness;

“Bye Tiffen,” Roland also said something alike, Tiffen didn’t even budge she just nodded feeling compelled to say something, but she couldn’t.

With Alex leading the way he put on his backpack and small hat as they left through the front door, Roland also grabbed a coat and a hat from the front door.

Eveline also stood in the frame of the door as she watched them leave the front gate, from such a vantage point she yelled out as they walked out of sight;

“Bye Boys!” Both of them turned and waved back, showing how much they where alike, Eveline only smiled with joy, turning back to Tiffen who was in an utter mess.
