Lin Mo hurriedly made his way out of the gymnasium as soon as the principal finished speaking.
He had no intention of registering for any school activities, workshops, or training programs—not yet, at least. There were too many unanswered questions in his mind, and he needed time to sort them out.
As for the Guild Order he had obtained, that was a matter for later.
Once he returned to the game, he already had a plan for it.
He had barely taken a few steps when an angry voice suddenly came from behind him.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Lin Mo stopped.
He slowly turned around.
Su Muyang stood several meters away, her arms crossed over her chest. Her dark hair framed her face, and the boyish style she usually carried made her already strict expression look even more intimidating.
She narrowed her eyes.
"Do you think it's a good sign that you're already planning to skip the school?"
Lin Mo blinked.
"President, I just got out of the hospital."
He pointed at himself as if that alone should have been enough explanation.
"And besides, I don't even know anything about Ascension Online. I don't even have a gaming helmet."
Su Muyang's expression suddenly changed.
"Oh."
She paused.
Then she seemed to realize something.
"Right. You haven't entered the game yet."
She had almost forgotten that Lin Mo had been absent from school for several weeks. While the rest of the students had already adapted to Ascension Online, Lin Mo had been lying in a hospital bed, completely disconnected from everything happening in the outside world.
Su Muyang sighed.
"The school provides a free gaming helmet for students. But you'll still need to purchase the module yourself."
She raised one finger.
"Unless you join one of the school's workshops. Some workshops provide modules for their members."
Lin Mo's eyes flickered.
A gaming helmet.
A module.
So that was how ordinary players entered Ascension Online.
He had almost forgotten that, for everyone else, entering the game required equipment.
For him that was different.
There was no way he could let anyone discover that he could enter Ascension Online without either a gaming helmet or a module.
That ability was his greatest secret, and he intended to keep it that way.
Su Muyang continued.
"Once you receive the gaming helmet, bind your personal bank account and mobile number to it. That way, you'll receive notifications whenever someone contacts you outside the game."
Lin Mo's eyebrows rose.
"It can do that?"
"Of course."
Su Muyang gave him a strange look.
"Ascension Online isn't completely disconnected from reality. Your account, banking information, and certain communication functions can be linked to the real world."
Lin Mo nodded slowly.
So the virtual world wasn't as isolated as he had thought. But then another thought surfaced.
Could his own account do the same?
He had entered the game without a helmet, without a module, without any conventional equipment.
He didn't even know whether the system considered his existence inside Ascension Online the same as that of an ordinary player.
There were still too many mysteries surrounding his ability.
Su Muyang turned around and started walking away.
Then she stopped.
"Oh, and one more thing."
She glanced back at him.
"If you do enter the game, you can come to our workshop. We don't have that many restrictions."
Lin Mo smiled.
"Wow, President. You're surprisingly generous."
Su Muyang rolled her eyes.
"Don't make me regret it."
"I'll let you know."
She nodded before finally walking away.
Lin Mo watched her disappear into the crowd before turning toward the exit. He had something far more important to do. He needed answers.
When Lin Mo returned to his apartment, he immediately closed the door behind him.
The familiar silence greeted him. He walked toward the bed and sat down. There were too many things he needed to test.
His ability to enter Ascension Online without equipment. The connection between his body and the game. The strange white expanse he had encountered before.
And most importantly, that gigantic eye.
Lin Mo slowly lay down.
He closed his eyes.
"Calm down."
He took a deep breath.
He cleared his mind of every distracting thought and focused on the strange connection deep within himself.
He didn't know exactly how he had entered the game before.
There had been no button. No machine, no helmet. Only his will.
So this time, he tried the same thing.
His consciousness slowly became still.
Then—
The world suddenly spun.
A strange sensation washed over his body, almost identical to the feeling he had experienced when he previously logged out.
For a moment, Lin Mo felt as if his consciousness had been pulled through an endless tunnel.
Then everything stopped. He opened his eyes.
The familiar landscape of Mistveil appeared before him. He was standing exactly where he had logged out.
Outside the beginner outpost.
Lin Mo stared around in surprise.
"I'm back..."
But something was different.
The throbbing pain that had plagued his head when he first entered the game was completely gone.
Instead, a clear system notification appeared directly within his consciousness.
System: The Spacetime Attribute has come into contact with your body.
Lin Mo froze.
Another notification followed.
System: Congratulations! You have reached Level 10. You may now choose a class.
His eyes widened.
Level 10.
After defeating Ghorak, the experience from the Elite Boss had pushed him forward by two levels.
He had expected it. But the next notification made him even more curious.
System: Due to the Spacetime Attribute coming into contact with your body, you have obtained a special opportunity.
System: You may randomly unlock a class related to Spacetime.
System: Would you like to proceed?
[Yes] [Choose Preferred Class]
Lin Mo stared at the options.
Spacetime.
His heartbeat quickened.
According to the knowledge he had inherited from the game, attributes were divided into numerous categories.
Elemental attributes.
Physical attributes.
Magical attributes.
Rare attributes.
But Spacetime...
It existed outside the ordinary classification.
Even Space itself was considered an extremely rare attribute.
And now—
He had encountered something even rarer.
Spacetime.
Lin Mo didn't hesitate.
If the system was offering him a chance to randomly unlock a class related to Spacetime, there was no reason to refuse.
He pressed [Yes].
A second notification appeared.
System: Are you certain you wish to proceed?
[Yes] [Choose Another]
Lin Mo immediately pressed [Yes] again.
The instant he did. The world disappeared. There was no Mistveil.
No sky.
No earth.
No sound.
Everything was swallowed by absolute white.
Lin Mo found himself standing once again within that strange expanse.
His eyes widened.
It was the same place.
An endless white world stretched in every direction, without a horizon, without a floor, and without a sky.
There was no sun, yet everything was illuminated.
No clouds moved overhead. No wind touched his skin. There was not even a shadow beneath his feet, only his reflection.
The whiteness wasn't empty.
It felt infinite.
As if space itself had been stripped of every boundary.
Lin Mo slowly turned around. His breathing stopped. He remembered.
That eye.
The enormous eye that had appeared the last time he came here.
His body instinctively tensed.
He turned around.
And there it was.
Far beyond the endless white expanse floated an enormous presence. It was impossible to determine how far away it was.
Perhaps a thousand meters.
Perhaps a million.
Perhaps it wasn't even within the same concept of distance.
Only one thing was certain.
It was gigantic.
The eye was so enormous that Lin Mo felt as though he were standing before an entire world rather than a living being.
Its surface remained closed.
There was no movement.
No reaction.
Nothing suggested that it had even noticed Lin Mo's existence.
Yet its mere presence caused the surrounding space to feel unnaturally still.
Lin Mo swallowed.
"So you're here again..."
He remembered what had happened the last time. The gigantic eye had opened.
Then—
Everything had gone beyond his understanding.
But this time, the eye remained closed. Perhaps his existence was simply too insignificant to awaken it.
Lin Mo barely had time to think about it.
A sudden phenomenon occurred.
From the center of the enormous closed eye, a thin point of white light appeared.
Lin Mo's pupils contracted.
The light grew brighter.
Brighter.
Until it became a blinding streak.
Then—
SHOOOOM!
A beam of pure white light shot across the endless expanse.
Lin Mo couldn't move. He couldn't even react. The beam struck directly between his eyebrows. For an instant, his entire consciousness seemed to explode.
Countless sensations rushed through him.
Space.
Time.
Distance.
Moments.
Beginnings.
Endings.
Things that had happened. Things that hadn't happened. Things that could happen.
They flashed through his mind so quickly that he couldn't comprehend any of them.
Then everything went white.
Lin Mo's consciousness violently returned.
He stumbled.
His vision blurred.
The endless white expanse vanished, replaced by the familiar surroundings of Mistveil. But before he could steady himself, a system notification appeared.
And this time, Lin Mo didn't even breathe.
System: Congratulations!
System: You have acquired the Unique Class — [Chronovoid].
Lin Mo's eyes widened.
His entire body froze.
"Unique...?"
His voice came out barely above a whisper.
Then the next line appeared.
This class cannot be acquired, copied, inherited, purchased, or obtained by another player.
Lin Mo's pupils shrank.
Another notification appeared.
Only one existence may bear the authority of Space-Time.
Silence.
Lin Mo stared at the words.
He read them once.
Twice.
Three times.
His mind refused to accept what he was seeing.
A Unique Class.
A class that could never be possessed by another player. A class that could not be copied. Could not be inherited. Could not be purchased. Could not be obtained through any other method.
There could only be one. And somehow that one was him. Lin Mo's hands began to tremble.
"This..."
His heartbeat hammered against his chest. He had expected a class related to Spacetime. Perhaps a powerful hidden class. Perhaps something rare enough to surprise him.
But this?
He had never imagined this. Not even in his wildest thoughts. His gaze slowly moved toward the class name.
[Chronovoid]
The name itself seemed to carry an indescribable weight. Then the class description appeared.
Class Description
A being who walks between moments and stands beyond distance.
The Chronovoid does not manipulate space or time independently.
Instead, its wielder creates temporary intersections between the two, allowing attacks to cross impossible distances and movements to ignore the ordinary limitations of space.
Lin Mo stood completely still. He had no words.
His mind was racing.
Space and time.
Two concepts that ordinary players could never hope to touch. Yet this class did not simply control one or the other.
It connected them.
It created intersections between the two. A power that could potentially allow him to make distance meaningless.
A power that could make an attack cross space in ways that should be impossible.
A power that could allow movement beyond ordinary spatial limitations.
Lin Mo slowly clenched his fists. He felt shock.
Then disbelief. And beneath both, a faint, almost uncontrollable excitement.
The memories within him contained countless pieces of information about Ascension Online.
Classes.
Skills.
Races.
Bloodlines.
Titles.
Hidden quests.
Yet nowhere in those memories had he ever encountered Chronovoid.
There was no record of it.
No legend.
No history.
Nothing.
It was as though this class had never existed before.
Or perhaps, it had been waiting for him.
Lin Mo looked toward the distant horizon of Mistveil.
His eyes slowly narrowed.
He had entered Ascension Online believing that he had merely received a mysterious second chance at life.
But now he finally understood something.
Whatever had happened to him in that hospital...
Whatever that system truly was...
And whatever existed within that endless white expanse...
It was far beyond what he had imagined.
He had just reached Level 10.
And at Level 10, he had become the only Chronovoid in the entire world.
