Peter crept through the front door of the Queens house at midnight, carefully easing the lock into place.

He turned around, only to freeze instantly.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May were sitting side by side at the kitchen table in their bathrobes, illuminated only by the stark interrogation-style light of the stovetop hood.Full novel: Transmigrate into Marvel Universe as Spider-man — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A single bowl of popcorn sat between them.

“Late night, Romeo” Uncle Ben said leaning forward with his hands interlaced.

“The committee requires a debrief”.

“Ben, let the poor boy breathe!” Aunt May chided though she lean forward with interest “But seriously, Peter, tell us everything.

Who you prefer?”.

Peter dropped into a chair, rubbing his face.

“It’s fine!

We are just friends!

Nothing much happen except i played the piano just now”.

Uncle Ben’s eyebrows shot up.

“Piano?

You play piano?”.

“Yes.

It is some basic stuff” Peter sighed collapsing back.

“So far I enjoyed my date MJ more but I am not in a rush to start dating yet”.

“Good boy” Uncle Ben nodded approvingly “Slow and steady wins the race.

Keep your feet on the ground”.

“Which brings us to tomorrow,” Aunt May smiled mischievously, tapping her finger on the table.

“Yeah.

Gwen” Peter winced.

“Yeah.

That would be interesting” Uncle Ben said with a smirk.

“It is just a picnic, we are just enjoying the scenery, Uncle Ben!” Peter protested.

“Gwen picked it!”.

“A rooftop in New York City is never just a picnic, Pete” Uncle Ben chuckled.

Aunt May covered her mouth, her shoulders shaking as she tried to suppress her giggles.

“Just make sure you check for pigeons” Aunt My joked before saying “Go get some sleep, Peter.

You’ve got a bridge to look at tomorrow”.

Sunday afternoon arrived with a crisp breeze rolling off the East River.

Peter climbed the final set of metal stairs leading to the DUMBO rooftop Gwen had picked out.

As he pushed the heavy door open, he saw her.

Gwen was already setting up, looking effortlessly stunning in a thick knitted sweater and boots with her blonde hair catching the sunlight.

Before he even said hello, Peter began peering intensely behind a rusty ventilation shaft then looking up at the sky.

“Uh, Peter?” Gwen asked, pausing mid-air with a checkered blanket in her hands.

“What exactly are you doing?”.

“Just checking for airborne hazards,” Peter said jokingly “I’m checking for angry pigeons.

If they catch wind of those homemade cronuts, we’re going to be overrun by a feathered syndicate”.

Gwen stared at him for a second before bursting into a bright, musical laugh that echoed across the roof.

“You are an absolute dork, Peter Parker”.

“Hey, safety first” Peter grinned, finally walking over to help her lay down the blanket.

The picnic turned out to be absolutely incredible.

The view was breathtaking with the massive stone towers of the Brooklyn Bridge carved right into the blue sky.

Gwen had brought a thermos of hot apple cider and a box of fresh, flaky pastry cronuts that tasted like a literal piece of heaven.

As they ate, the initial pressure of the “evaluation weekend” completely melted away.

Unlike Liz’s intense academic testing or MJ’s high-energy challenge, being with Gwen felt incredibly natural.

They talked about their upcoming science midterms, made fun of Flash Thompson’s latest social media posts and debated whether the Empire State Building looked better in the morning or at night.

Gwen was sharp, observant, and shared Peter’s quick wit.

When a gust of wind threatened to blow their napkins into the river, they both scrambled for them at the same time, their hands brushing against each other on the blanket.

Peter froze for a second, looking into Gwen’s warm eyes.

He felt a completely different kind of pull with her.

It wasn’t the sudden spark of attraction he felt with Liz, or the electric confident allure of MJ.

With Gwen, it felt like a deep comforting sense of peace.

He was genuinely having a fun time.

“So” Gwen murmured, leaning back on her elbows and looking at him with a soft, knowing smile.

“Two dates down before me.

How good is our date?”.

“Well” Peter smiled, taking a sip of his cider.

“So far it is good.

Nobody need to keep checked for pigeons”.

Gwen laughed, nudging his foot with hers.

“Good.

Because I plan on winning this little tournament”.

Just as Peter was admiring the skyline and Gwen was quietly falling head over heels, the heavy steel door to the rooftop didn’t just open it slammed against the brick wall with a metallic CLANG.

Peter’s spider-sense didn’t scream danger but it gave a very distinct awkward “you’re in trouble” buzz.

Standing in the doorway was a tall, broad-shouldered man with iron-gray hair, a crisp trench coat and a stern uncompromising glare that had terrified half the criminals in Manhattan.

It was Captain George Stacy of the NYPD and he looked thoroughly unimpressed by the romantic ambiance.

“Gwen” Captain Stacy’s voice boomed across the roof echoing off the ventilation shafts “Your phone has been going straight to voicemail for two hours”.

Gwen instantly jumped up from the checkered blanket, her face turning pink.

“Dad!

Hi!

I told you I was going out with a friend.

My phone battery died”.

“A friend” Captain Stacy repeated.

His icy blue eyes locked onto Peter, who was currently sitting frozen on the blanket and holding a half-eaten cronut in mid-air.

The Captain walked over, his heavy boots thudding intentionally against the gravel.

He stared down at Peter’s face, then slowly lowered his gaze to Peter’s feet.

“Parker, isn’t it?” Captain Stacy asked, his voice clipping like a police report.

“What is your intention with my daughter?”.

“Dad!!!!!!!” Gwen shouted is anger and embarrassment before Peter could answer.

Gwen buried her face in her hands, letting out a soft groan.

While Captain Stacy stared at Peter for five agonizing seconds of dead silence.

He didn’t blink.

“Er….

Anything you want to ask me sir?” Peter asked without knowing how to react with the whole situation.

Captain Stacy ignored him said “Gwen, your mother needs you home for ….

Sunday dinner.

And the bridge traffic is building up”.

“Dad, we were just finishing” Gwen pleaded while giving Peter an apologetic and deeply embarrassed look.

But as she looked at her dad’s strict expression and then back at Peter’s totally flustered self, she couldn’t help but smile.

Even with her dad ruining the moment, she was completely smitten with how cute Peter look now.

“Pack it up, Parker” Captain Stacy ordered gently but firmly and he pick up the thermos.

“I’ll escort my daughter downstairs.

You enjoy your…

bird-watching”.

“Will do, Captain!

Safe travels!” Peter said as he quickly fold the blanket.

Before walking toward the stairs, Gwen managed to slip past her dad’s line of sight for a split second, leaning in to give Peter a quick voiceless “I’ll text you late”.

While Peter was wrapping up his sweet scenic date with Gwen, the atmosphere back at the Parker household in Queens was about to reach peak comedic chaos.

As Uncle Ben and Aunt May debate on how is Peter’s date going and who he might pick.

“I have hacked The Crimson Cat’s camera of Mr Peter Parker singing that I believe both of you might like to witness”.

Uncle Ben leaned forward, pulling his glasses down his nose.

“Processing file as Awesome_serenade_01.mp4” Homer chirped.

As Homer project an unclear video playback of the dim candlelight-soaked jazz club onto the television.

There was Peter, sitting confidently at the grand piano, his fingers moving with fluid, soulful grace across the keys.

His gravelly baritone voice echoed beautifully through the Parker living room, singing the slow, smoky jazz cover of “Die With A Smile”.

“Oh my goodness” Aunt May gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as she listened to the rich melancholic melody.

“Ben, listen to him!

Our Peter is singing like a professional!”.

Uncle Ben let out a massive, booming laugh, slumping back against the sofa.

“He’s a literal jazz artist!

Good work, Homer”.

“I am here to serve, Mr Parker” Homer chirped proudly.

Just then, the front door clicked open.

Peter walked into the hallway, looking utterly exhausted and holding a leftover box of Gwen’s homemade cronuts.

“Hey guys” Peter called out, kicking off his shoes.

“Gwen’s date went great until her dad showed up and …..” He stopped dead in his tracks.

As the image of him hitting the final, emotional chorus of the song was still playing directly over the television.

“Homer!” Peter shrieked dropping his box of cronuts onto the table “What are you doing?!

Delete that!

Classify that file under Maximum Security!”.

“Apologies, Sir” Homer replied smoothly “Mrs.

Parker’s authority override your authority, sir.

Besides, Mrs Parker’s facial expression indicates a ninety-eight percent approval rating”.

“Welcome home, Sinatra” Uncle Ben teased, snapping his fingers in a slow jazz rhythm.

Spider-Man Story: Monday Morning Headlines

Monday morning arrived at Midtown High with the dull roar of student chatter, slamming lockers, and the unmistakable smell of floor wax.

Peter walked down the hallway, steering completely clear of the main row of lockers where Liz, MJ, and Gwen usually hung out.

“The media cycle is currently…

volatile” Peter mumbled to himself as numerous students gathered around and watch their phone’s screen.

The screen flickered from a commercial straight into a breaking news graphic from the The Daily Bugle.

The news anchor sat in front of a massive graphic of Wilson Fisk’s silhouette.”New York City is reeling this morning following a massive federal announcement.

The District Attorney’s office has officially confirmed that billionaire philanthropist Wilson Fisk—the alleged ‘Kingpin’ of Crime—is under active federal investigation for racketeering, political corruption and funding syndicates”.

“Authorities are currently reviewing seized corporate data disks linked to several high-profile Manhattan homicides.

Now, we cut live to the Daily Bugle’s special broadcast segment: The Jameson Debate.”

The screen cut to a split-screen debate.

On the left side sat a frantic, red-faced J.

Jonah Jameson, chewing aggressively on an unlit cigar.

On the right side sat a composed political analyst.

“Fisk under investigation?!” Jameson bellowed, slamming his hand down on his desk so hard the camera shook.

“It is about time!

I have been saying it for years—Wilson Fisk is a crook, a menace to the free market and a shadow over this great city!

But let’s look at the real tragedy here, folks”.

“Why did it take the federal government years to get these disks?

Because our law enforcement is being actively undermined by two distinct, terrifying forces!” J.

Jonah JAmeson argued.

The analyst tried to speak.

“Mr.

Jameson, the investigation focuses on corporate fraud—”.

“I don’t care, Henderson!” Jameson interrupted, pointing a finger directly at the camera.

“I care about the streets!

First, we have the Mutant Problem.

Now, look, the Daily Bugle has always supported civil rights, integration and fair treatment for the mutant population”.

“I am no bigot!

But these radical, unregistered mutant factions running around strutting the powers?

They’re acting outside the law!

What is stopping a mutant from flip a police cruiser with their mind, how is a standard NYPD officer supposed to enforce the law?”.

“And that brings me to my second point” Jameson growled, his mustache twitching with pure rage.

“The absolute worst offender of them all!

SPIDER-MAN!”.

The analyst sighed.

“Spider-Man actually helped secure the initial evidence against Fisk, Jonah…”.

“He’s a menace!” Jameson roared, leaning so close to the lens his nose blurred.

“Don’t you see the connection?

Spider-Man operates in total secrecy.

He wears a mask because he’s hiding a horrible, cowardly secret!

He runs around playing judge, jury and executioner.

He is completely destroying the city’s legal infrastructure”.

“By normalizing masked vigilantism, Spider-Man created the exact lawless environment that allowed a criminal empire like the Kingpin’s to thrive in the first place!

He isn’t a hero—he’s the blueprint for anarchy!

If you want to clean up Wilson Fisk, you start by tearing down the wall-crawler!” Jameson roared with his neck vein bulging.

Peter stared at the screen, before walking away.

“if Jameson keeps yelling like that, he’s going to give me a headache before first period even starts”.

Peter quickly tapped his earpiece, his voice dropping into a whisper.

“Homer, Confirm the status of our encryption line.

Is the emergency communication channel with the X-Men fully established?”.

“Affirmative, Sir” Homer’s voice chirped seamlessly in his ear “The comm-link between our lab and the subsurface mainframe at the X-Mansion in Salem Center, Westchester County is running at one hundred percent structural integrity”.

Peter let out a heavy sigh of relief.

With the media screaming about the Kingpin and mutant panic rising on the news, having a direct line to the heroes up north was a critical safety net.

“Excellent” Peter muttered.

“Keep it on standby”.

“Understood” Homer replied.

“However, you have a pending secure message waiting from that very channel.

High priority”.

Peter blinked.

“From who?””From Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey” Homer stated, displaying a digital transcription over his glasses lenses.

“They are formally inviting Spider-Man to visit the school in Westchester”.

“An invitation to the mansion?” Peter pondered.

Homer added, analyzing the message text.

“Professor Xavier’s note stresses the importance of solidarity between heroes and the mutant community for future emergencies”.

Peter stared at the glowing blue text of the invitation.

Between the brewing possible war with Hydra, appearance of future villains, the public mutant debates and possible world class villain like Kang, Thanos or Apocalypse.

“Alright, Homer” Peter sighed, as he adjusted his backpack “Send a secure confirmation back to X-men.

Tell them Spider-Man accepts.

But tell them I might be a little late…”.

Peter walked through the double doors, his eyes darting around like he was scanning a battlefield.

He kept his head down, desperately hoping the chaos of the Kingpin news would keep him invisible.

No such luck.

Near the row of blue lockers Liz Allan, Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy stood in a perfect, intimidating circle.

The weekend’s truce was officially over and the post-date debrief was happening right now.

“So” Liz said, crossing her arms and looking directly at MJ.

“You said Saturday night was ‘dorky’ and ‘just pizza'”.

MJ didn’t flinch.

She just slung her leather jacket over one shoulder, leaning against a locker with her signature effortless smirk “Yeah”.

He was being respectful and genuinely trying to figure things out.

But instead of causing a falling out between the friends, Peter’s charm had only poured gasoline on the fire.

None of them were willing to back down.

“Alright” Gwen said, a sharp competitive smile breaking across her face.

“Fine.

May the best woman win”.

“Agreed” MJ purred, her green eyes flashing with absolute confidence.

“Oh, she will” Liz countered with a confident wink, adjusting the strap of her bag.

Right at that exact second, Peter tried to stealthily tip-toe past them toward the biology lab.

“Parker!” all three girls called out in unison, turning their heads simultaneously.

Peter froze mid-stride, one foot hovering off the floor.

“Oh, Shit!”.

Peter slowly turned around, flashing a weak smile at the three stunning, fiercely determined girls marching straight toward him.

“Uh…

hey guys!

Great weekend, right?

Who’s ready for some…

learning?”.

By 3:30 PM, Peter had officially reached his limit with the high school drama.

Slipping out of Midtown High under the intense laser-focused glares of Liz, MJ and Gwen, he had web-slung his way straight to a massive industrial warehouse rooftop overlooking the East River.

“Homer, check the sky” Peter breathed, pulling his mask down over his face as he crouched on top of a water tower.

“The X-Men are utilizing their advanced cloaking technology.

They are making their final approach directly to your current rooftop coordinate.

Prepare for landing” Homer chirped.

Suddenly, the air pressure on the roof dropped violently.

The low, heavy rumble of powerful vertical thrusters vibrated right through Peter’s boots.

A massive, shimmering silhouette appeared against the grey sky as the optical camouflage deactivated, revealing the sleek dark terrifyingly high-tech Blackbird supersonic jet.

It hovered perfectly over the gravel roof, its massive thrusters flattening the loose debris in a roaring circle. The rear cargo ramp hissed, splitting open to reveal the bright metallic interior of the aircraft.

“Hey, kid!

You gonna stand there catching flies, or are you getting in?” Peter blinked.

Leaning against the hydraulic door frame was a short, stocky man with wild dark hair, wearing a worn leather jacket over a flannel shirt.

A heavy scent of cigars and old leather practically radiated off him.

It was Wolverine.

“Right!

Hi there.

Er…

sir?” Peter scrambled up the ramp, his sticky boots tapping against the metal flooring.

“Drop the ‘sir,’ bub.

Makes me feel old” Logan grunted, turning on his heel.

“Though looking at you in those spandex tights, I practically am prehistoric”.

“Don’t mind him, Sugah” a warm melodic Southern drawl echoed from the cockpit controls.

Rogue turned around in the pilot’s seat, flashing Peter a brilliant welcoming smile.

She wore her signature green-and-yellow uniform, her white-streaked hair tied back and insulated leather gloves securely covering her hands.

“He’s just grumpy because Charles made him skip his afternoon nap to play chauffeur”.

“I ain’t a chauffeur” Logan muttered, slipping into the co-pilot seat and slamming a heavy fist against the cloaking engagement switch.

“I’m the security detail”.

The Blackbird’s doors sealed shut with a pressurized thump, and within seconds, the jet shot vertically into the sky, leaving the chaotic New York skyline far below.

As Peter stepped out of the Blackbird and into the grand foyer, his hand twitched toward his face, but he stopped himself.

He kept his iconic red-and-blue mask firmly pulled down, obscuring his features entirely.

Trust didn’t come easily to a guy whose identity was the only thing keeping his Aunt May and Uncle Ben safe.

Rogue, still casually sliding her leather glove back on after her playful teasing, noticed him adjusting the fabric over his jaw.

Her smirk softened into a sympathetic reassuring smile.

“Hey, relax!

Sugah” Rogue said gently, her Southern drawl dropping its flirtatious edge for a moment.

“Nobody here is gonna try and peek under the hood.

We know exactly what it’s like to have the world looking at you like you’re a target.

Your secret is entirely safe within these walls”.

Professor Xavier turned his hover-chair around, looking up at the masked wall-crawler with a calm, deeply comforting expression.

“Rogue is quite right, Spider-Man,” Xavier said, his voice carrying a profound weight of authority and warmth.

“The Xavier Institute is a sanctuary.

Our internal servers are completely closed-circuit, protected by quantum encryption that even the federal government cannot pierce.

And as a telepath…”.

Xavier tapped his temple with a gentle smile.

“I respect mental boundaries above all else.

I have placed a localized block over your mind.

Jean and I will not perceive a single surface thought regarding your true name, your face or your family.”

Jean Grey stepped forward, her green eyes radiating a soft ambient warmth.

“We know about the heavy pressure.

But here?

You are just a hero among peers.

You can leave the walls up as long as you need to”.

Peter let out a massive sigh of relief behind the fabric of his mask, his shoulders visibly dropping.

“Thanks, Professor.

Thanks, Jean,” Peter’s voice echoed through the mask, sounding genuinely grateful.

As Professor Xavier and Jean Grey began leading Peter down the grand wood-paneled hallway toward the study, Rogue lingered back walking directly alongside him.

She tilted her head, her green eyes scanning his tall, lean frame with a look of intense, playful curiosity.

“You know, Sugah” Rogue said, her Southern drawl dropping into a low, smooth purr that caught Peter completely off guard.

“I’ve seen you on the news swinging through Manhattan, but up close?

You’re a lot more charming than J.

Jonah Jameson lets on”.

Peter blinked, his face instantly starting to heat up.

After surviving Liz, MJ and Gwen, his defenses against attractive girls were completely exhausted.

“Uh…thanks, Rogue”.

Rogue let out a soft laugh, taking a half-step closer.

She slowly slipped off one of her heavy leather gloves, letting it dangle from her fingertips, revealing her bare hand.

Because of her power to absorb memories and life force through skin-to-skin contact, the gesture carried a heavy electric weight.

She didn’t touch him but she leaned in just close enough for Peter to catch the faint scent of sweet magnolia blossoms.

“You’re a brave boy”.

She murmured, her eyes locking onto his with a dangerous playful glint.

“Most people get a little nervous standing this close to a girl who can drain their soul with a single touch.

But your heart rate is doing something mighty interesting right now.

Are you always this steady under pressure or am I just that distracting?”.

Peter’s spider-sense didn’t flare up with a warning of danger but his internal alarm system was going absolutely haywire.

First Liz at the museum, then MJ’s intense magnetic pull at the jazz club, Gwen’s rooftop picnic and now a beautiful mutant powerhouse flirting with him in a castle foyer.

“I…uh..well” Peter stammered, his smooth composure instantly evaporating as he rubbed the back of his neck.

“My spider-sense usually warns me about physical threats, but it doesn’t really have a protocol for…

Southern hospitality”.

From a few steps ahead, Logan let out a loud highly amused snort.

“Lay off the kid, Rogue”.

Rogue just smirked, smoothly sliding her glove back over her hand and giving Peter a slow, devastating wink.

“Just testing his reflexes, Logan.

And I have to say…

With that body..

I can’t wait to see what is under the hood”.
