A few days later, the heavy security doors of Tony Stark’s fully equipped upstate laboratory hissed open releasing a pressurized cloud of cold white vapor.
As the mist cleared, the automated mechanical arms overhead retracted into the ceiling revealing Peter’s secret project resting on the steel launchpad.
Gleaming under the high-intensity lights is a breathtaking custom-built dark red and blue delta-wing fighter plane.
The aircraft was a marvel of cutting-edge Stark engineering and Peter’s own design.
Its fuselage was sleek and coated in a weave that absorbed light and radar waves, painted in deep Spider-Man crimson and midnight blue.
The Spider-Jet.
The sharp triangular delta-wings swept back with flawless aerodynamics and repulsor turbines that could lift the jet vertically without making a sound.
“She’s beautiful, isn’t she?” Homer’s voice echoed smoothly through the lab speakers.
“Mr.
Stark left the manufacturing lines open for you.
The stealth coating is completely operational.
It can mask your thermal signature, acoustic output and even bypass advanced sensor arrays”.
Peter walked down the metal catwalk, staring at the canopy of the cockpit.
A massive grin broke across his face.
This wasn’t just a high-tech fighter plane, it was a vehicle specifically designed to fly under the radar of every defense grid on earth.
“Perfect” Peter murmured, running a hand over the smooth cold wing.
Right beside it stood his exosuit armor suit’s Aegis.
Both hummed with the quiet terrifying vibration of power.
Before Peter stepped into the cockpit, he tapped his ear comm.
“Homer initiate protocol Alpha Secure”.
“Right away, sir” Homer responded.
The Aegis Exosuit, a breathtaking masterpiece of dark red and blue titanium-nanoweave armor stepped forward on the automated tracks.
With a series of hydraulic clicks and whirs, the armor folded seamlessly in on itself condensing into a compact metallic pod.
A mechanical arm swept downward from the fighter plane, lifting the pod and securing it tightly inside the fighter plane’s belly cargo bay with a reassuring clack.
Peter’s chest swelled with pure unadulterated excitement.
Wearing his neural-link helmet, he leap into the open cockpit, slid into the pilot’s leather seat and watched the sleek glass canopy seal shut over him.
The internal display of the Spider-jet flared to life in a brilliant web of blue light, mapping out the controls perfectly to his eyes.
“All systems green, Homer.
Let’s get out of here before Tony come in and check on us” Peter grinned, gripping the flight stick.
“Main arc reactors stable.
Secondary arc reactor online.
Backup arc reactor functional.
Weapon function synchronized” Homer chimed.
The repulsor turbines hummed to life with a barely audible whisper.
The delta-wing fighter lifted perfectly straight up, exiting through the lab’s retracting roof.
Peter kept the thrusters at a low power setting, flying out of New York sky.
Leaving the bustling city behind, he increase the speed towards the designated safe testing zone over the open Atlantic Oceans.
“We are clear of civilian airspace, sir.
You are free to stretch her legs” HOMER chimed.
“Oh, you have no idea how long I’ve waited for this” Peter laughed.
He slammed the throttles forward. The G-force slammed him hard back into his seat as the delta-wing fighter vanished into a blur.
The silent thrusters screamed with raw power, pushing the jet instantly to the max speed of Mach 4.5.
The fighter plane’s frame remain perfectly steady, slicing through the air space.
Peter pulled the stick back, executing a series of breathtaking barrel rolls and vertical climbs that would have made an ordinary pilot black out while he drink in the thrill of the flight.
He ripped a sharp 90-degree lateral cuts at Mach 3, his superhuman cardiovascular easily absorbing the crushing bone snapping G-forces that would have liquefied a normal pilot.
“Weapon systems check” Peter ordered, his eyes locking onto a cluster of discarded rubbishes in the sea below.
A blinding rapid fire of repulsor pulses and continuous high-yield plasma lances shot out at impossible jarring angles, completely vaporizing the rubbishes into cosmic dust in less than two seconds.
“Weapons operational.
Now for the grand finale” Peter said, his adrenaline absolutely soaring.
“HOMER, open the cargo bay and prep Aegis.
I’m dropping in”.
“Sir, you are at twenty thousand feet,” HOMER warned, though the AI was already opening the canopy.
“Perfect height for a test drive!” Peter unbuckled, stood up and leaped face-first out of the open cockpit into the roaring air.
The wind tore at his Spider-man suit as he free-fell through the clouds, watching the ocean rush up to meet him.
He triggered the wrist control.
Above him the metallic pod shot out of the cargo bay, instantly flying downward as it quickly transform into its full humanoid shape.
In mid-air, Peter aligned his body with the falling armor.
The Aegis suit split open down the spine.
Peter slipped inside seamlessly and the heavy plating slammed shut around him with a sequence of powerful hydraulic snaps.
The dark red and blue HUD flared online inside his helmet.
Clack.
Whir.
Snap.
“Systems online” Homer’s voice chimed in the suit.
Peter spread his arms.
The Aegis suit’s thrusters fired, instantly arresting his free-fall just a hundred feet above the crashing ocean waves.
He blasted forward, skimming the surface of the water while throwing up a massive wake of white spray as he tested the armor’s enhanced strength, flight stabilizers and thrusters agility.
It was perfect and working efficiently.
Peter pulled up into a steep vertical climb, rocketing back toward his delta-wing fighter hovering silently in the clouds.
Peter pulled Aegis suit into a tight hover, twenty thousand feet above the open Atlantic ready to put its weapon to the test.
“HOMER, bring the main weapon systems online” Peter ordered, his heart hammering with excitement.
“Let’s see what this suit can do”.
“Deploying tactical weaponry, Sir” HOMER chimed.
With a series of synchronized mechanical clicks, the Aegis suit transformed.
As two weapons housing high energy repulsor cannons folded out from the wing like thruster towards the top of both of his shoulders, mirroring the legendary design of the Gundam Freedom.
Another two energy repulsor cannons on hips extended and aim forward.
The repulsor on the center of his chest pulsed with a brilliant blue light as Peter cycle and lock all his weapons towards the numerous other rubbishes.
Simultaneously, the specialized gauntlet repulsors on his hands flipped forward into firing position, whining as they charged up.
“Fire!” Peter shouted.
A blinding barrage of energy erupted from the suit.
The shoulder cannons, hip cannons, the gauntlet cannons and the central chest core fired simultaneously in a spectacular coordinated multi-lock strike.
Beams of intense repulsor energy cannon crisscrossed the sky, instantly vaporizing every single rubbish target found at sea at a fraction of a second.
The raw power hummed throughout the armor as it held perfectly stable in the air.
“Aegis firepower at one hundred percent” HOMER reported.
“Targets destruction complete”.
“Oh, that is beautiful” Peter laughed, completely thrilled by the sheer capability of the suit.
“Alright, let’s head back”.
With a thought, Peter engaged the suit’s automated pilot mode.
He clicked the quick release mechanism on the torso.
The spine of the armor hissed open and Peter leaped out of the exosuit mid air, relying on his own ability as he freefall for a brief second through the clouds.
Below him, the delta-wing fighter plane lowered its speed and open its cockpit.
Peter aimed his descent perfectly shooting downward through the open cockpit and landing lightly on his feet.
Behind him, the Aegis exosuit effortlessly reentered the storage chamber on its own.
The mechanical arms grabbed the armor, smoothly folding it back into its compact pod configuration and locking it down with a heavy pressurized seal.
The storage doors snapped shut, restoring the plane’s flawless stealth profile.
Peter slid back into the pilot’s seat, pulling the throttle back as the canopy sealed shut.
Exhilarated and laughing like a mad scientist, Peter executed a flawless vertical descent back into the Stark lab, using the thrusters to cushion his landing to a gentle silent stop.
Just as Peter was finalizing his final diagnosis on Spider-jet and Aegis, his phone lit up with an incoming video call.
Harry Osborn’s face flashed onto the screen, looking energetic and wearing a sharp tailored business suit.
Behind him, Ned Leeds popped into the frame from a smaller window, waving enthusiastically.
“Hey, Pete!
Tell me you’re not buried under a mountain of work” Harry grinned, his voice echoing through the cockpit.
“Look, I know you’ve been a ghost lately but you and Ned are officially invited to Osborn Corp this coming Friday”.
“The company is hosting a massive high-profile event for all the shareholders.
My dad is letting me bring you guys as my personal VIP guests and you absolutely cannot miss this” Harry said enthusiastically.
“He’s not kidding, Pete!” Ned said excitedly, his eyes wide.
“They are finally pulling back the curtain on the company’s latest super-secret research.
It’s being led by their new star scientist, Dr.
Curt Connors”.
Hearing that name sent a jolt right down Peter’s brain.
Because of the memories he carried from his past life, Peter knew exactly who Curt Connors was, the volatile nature of his reptilian DNA splicing experiments and the catastrophic threat of the Lizard if that research ever went sideways.
“Connors is working for your dad?” Peter asked, keeping his voice steady while his scientific curiosity and hero instincts flared in tandem.
“Yeah, his work on limb regeneration and evolutionary biology is supposed to change the entire medical industry” Harry explained.
“It’s a massive deal, Pete.
I want my best friends there to see it”.
“Oh, I am fully intended to go too” Peter said, a serious but supportive smile forming on his face as his mind quickly calculated the risks.
There was no way he could sit this out.
If Connors was on the verge of a major breakthrough, Peter needed to be in that room to see exactly how close the doctor was to crossing a dangerous line.
“Count me in, Harry.
I wouldn’t miss it for the world”.
“Awesome.
I just pinged the VIP digital passes to your phone” Harry said, looking relieved.
“Dress sharp, Pete.
I’ll see you and Ned on Friday”.
As the call disconnected, Peter stared at the glowing invitation on his phone.
Peter dial Rogue before the chaos of Friday night began.
The line rang twice before her warm, southern accent filled the phone.
“Hey there, sugar.
I miss you.
Have you decided when or where we will go?”.
“”No, not yet.
I am working on it.
I promise” Peter said quickly, a soft smile.
They’re unveiling a massive project and Harry really needs his best friends there to support him.
I have to go, Rogue”.
There was a brief pause on the line.
“I understand, Pete.
You’re a good friend.
But…
is that the only reason you’re going?
You sound a bit tense”.
Peter tense slightly before answering ” Honestly?
I suspect something bad will happen.
The scientist leading the project, Dr.
Curt Connors, is experimenting with something incredibly volatile.
If his equations are off…
it could get ugly.
I need to be in that room to keep an eye on things”.
Rogue’s tone shifted from playful to deeply supportive.
“Alright.
You watch his back and be careful.
But if anything bad happen, Peter Parker.
You are calling me.
Deal?”.
“Deal” Peter smiled.
“Bye, Rogue”.
Ten minutes later, Peter was sitting across from Ned at a quiet corner table inside a bustling Queens diner.
Ned was practically vibrating with excitement, a massive binder of printouts and a tablet open in front of him while Peter casually sipped a soda.
“Pete, you don’t understand!” Ned whispered aggressively, leaning across the table so the people in the next booth wouldn’t hear.
“I hacked into…well, not hacked, more like deeply researched…
the public patent filings for Osborn Corp’s new division.
Dr.
Curt Connors is doing cross-species genetics!
It is revolutionary!
He’s trying to splice reptilian DNA into human genomes to trigger rapid cellular regeneration.
Imagine if we could just grow back a limb like a lizard!”.
“I am imagining it, Ned.
That’s exactly what worries me” Peter said, his voice dropping to a serious hushed tone.
“What do you mean?” Ned said, blinking in confusion.
“Think about it from a purely biochemical standpoint” Peter explained, tapping a finger on Ned’s tablet screen where a strand of lizard DNA was highlighted.
“Reptiles are cold-blooded, aggressive and their predatory instincts are hardwired into their neural pathways.
Splicing that directly into human DNA without a perfect stabilization agent?
It’s a recipe for disaster.
If the serum alters the subject’s brain chemistry before the physical regeneration is complete, they won’t just heal…
they could completely lose their humanity” Peter explained.
Ned stared at Peter, his excitement fading into a look of genuine realization.
“Whoa.
Pete…
you’re talking like this isn’t just a theoretical problem.
You sound like you know it’s going to go wrong”.
“I am just assuming the possible danger” Peter replied, offering a tight guarded smile.
“All company has their own issues when there are billions of dollars on the line.
I just hope Norman Osborn has good safety protocols.
Don’t want anything bad to happen for Harry’s sake”.
“Either way, I’m just glad we’re going as VIPs.
It is a once in a lifetime event”.
Peter said acting excited.
Ned slowly closed his binder, excitedly.
“I just can’t wait for Friday to come.
The cocktail foods is waiting for me”.
“Exactly” Peter nodded, checking his watch and the clock was ticking down to Friday.
The glittering glass towers of Osborn Corp cut into the Manhattan night sky, illuminated by roaring spotlights that swept across the red carpet.
Peter and Ned arrived looking exceptionally sharp in their tailored black tuxedos, though neither of them was focused on the cameras or the champagne.
As soon as they bypassed the main security gate using Harry’s VIP digital passes, the grandeur of the main gala hall opened up before them.
High-profile shareholders, military leaders, politicians and scientists mingled under massive crystal chandeliers, all waiting for the main event.
“Okay, Pete, this place is like a fortress” Ned whispered, adjusting his bow tie as his eyes darted around the security guards patrolling the perimeter.
“Yeah” Peter whispered back, his eyes locked on a restricted security door near the back of the auditorium.
Peter looked over at Ned, who was happily grabbing a glass of sparkling cider from a passing waiter’s tray.
Ned was completely caught up in the glitz of the gala, entirely unaware of Peter’s covert plan to infiltrate the private laboratories.
“Hey Ned, my stomach is doing somersaults.
I think i am having a bad case of stomach pain” Peter said, putting a hand over Ned’s shoulder and offered a convincing, apologetic grimace.
“I’m going to head to the washroom first before the presentation starts”.
“Oh, okay!
Will call you if the event start” Ned nodded understandingly, turning his attention toward the main stage where the lights were beginning to dim.
“Go ahead, man.
Hurry!
Don’t miss the introduction!”.
“If I’m a little late getting back, cover for me” Peter added smoothly, backing away into the crowd.
“Oh, totally.
I’ll cover for you if Harry asks” Ned whispered back with a thumbs-up.
With his cover story perfectly established, Peter slipped into the crowd bypassed the public restrooms and melted into the shadow of the restricted service corridor.
Pulling a small interface device from his tuxedo jacket, he pressed it against a restricted card-reader.
“Homer, bypass the biometric lock.
Get me into Dr.
Curt Connors’ primary research lab” Peter ordered in a hushed tone.
“Slicing encryption now, sir.
Decrypting security nodes…
Access granted” Homer’s voice hummed smoothly through a hidden comm ear piece.
The heavy steel door hissed open and Peter slipped into the sterile dark lab just before the security cameras cycled back.
The lab was filled with glowing green terrariums housing rare reptilian species, surrounded by massive diagnostic screens displaying genetic strands.
Peter moved directly to the central mainframe, plugging his device into the data port.
“Homer, download a complete copy of Curt Connors’ research files” Peter commanded, his eyes scanning the room.
“And while you’re in the mainframe, run a deep-sub-sector search.
Check if Oscorp is actively developing the Human Performance Enhancer….
search parameter ‘OZ or Green Goblin'”.
“Downloading genetic splicing data now” HOMER reported, a progress bar flashing across Peter’s specialized lenses.
“Searching restricted military archives…
Scanning…
Confirmed.
I have located highly classified files under the codename ‘Oz formula’.
Norman Osborn is personally funding a variant of the performance enhancer in a sub-basement lab”.
Peter’s jaw tightened.
‘It’s exactly what I feared’ he thought, the memories of his past life aligning perfectly with the digital data.
Suddenly, his eyes caught a cryogenic chamber pulsing with a soft blue light on the main desk.
Inside sat six glowing, lime green vials labeled “Regenerative Serum – Batch 14-B”.
It was Connors’ finished product, ready for the presentation.
Knowing the possible catastrophic mutation this serum would trigger, Peter stood by the chamber waiting for the perfect opportunity to steal a sample of the serum so he could study the serum or synthesize an antidote if needed.
The distant sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway, signaling that the presentation was about to begin.
Peter was standing inside the sterile dimly lit corner of Dr.
Curt Connors’ primary research lab.
His high-tech interface was plugged into the mainframe and HOMER’s AI voice was rapidly reporting the progress through his hidden ear piece.
“Camera loop still functional, sir” HOMER’s voice hummed calmly in his ear.
“The security mainframe is now receiving a perfect pre-recorded visual loop of an empty laboratory.
We have exactly two minutes before the system runs an automatic check”.
“Perfect.
Thanks, Homer” Peter whispered.
With his digital footprints completely erased from the Oscorp surveillance network, Peter moved with absolute stealth precision.
“Data transfer at eighty percent, sir.
Downloading all cross-species genetic information.
I have also successfully duplicating the latest information regarding classified ‘Oz Formula’ data from Norman Osborn’s hidden directory.
The records confirm active research into the performance enhancer”.
Homer explained.
“Great work, Homer.
Wrap it up” Peter whispered, his eyes locked entirely on the glowing cryogenic pod on the central desk.
Inside the glass chamber, six luminous lime green vials resting in their automated cradles.
Peter stepped closer, his fingers hovering over the control panel.
He knew that the presentation upstairs was about to start at any second and the window of security silence was closing fast.
He stood perfectly still in the shadows, his enhanced spider-senses tuned to the hallway outside waiting for the exact split-second opportunity to steal a sample of the serum without triggering any alarms.
The muffled vibrations of classical music from the gala above began to fade, replaced by the booming amplified voice of Norman Osborn welcoming the shareholders.
The show was starting and Peter had to move now.
Sensing nothing that might trigger any alarm.
Peter deployed a fine web fluid from a miniature shooter hidden inside his tuxedo sleeve.
The web line attached to the cap of the center vial.
With a sharp silent flick of his wrist, Peter lifted the glowing lime green Batch 14-B serum out of its cradle catching it flawlessly in his gloved palm.
He quickly slipped the cool luminous cylinder into the custom lined inner pocket of his tuxedo jacket.
“Data download complete, sir” HOMER reported, a soft tone chiming in his earpiece.
“I have secure, encrypted copies of all of Dr.
Disconnecting from the mainframe now”.
Peter unplugged his interface device and melted back into the shadows just as the laboratory door’s biometric scanner sounded, resetting itself to the standard security protocol.
Walking quickly but casually back through the service corridors, Peter adjusted his bow tie, smoothed down the front of his jacket to hide the slight bulge of the stolen vial and slipped back into the grand auditorium.
He slid down into the empty seat right next to Ned, just as the crowd erupted into applause.
Up on the massive stage, a one armed man in a immaculate white lab coat stepped up to the podium, Dr.
Curt Connors.
“Dude, you missed Norman Osborn’s whole opening speech!” Ned whispered frantically, leaning over.
“Where were you?
Harry was looking for you!”.
“Sorry” Peter whispered back, offering a relaxed innocent smile.
“I ran into one of the lead biophysicists near the lobby.
We got completely sidetracked in our discussion”.
Ned shook his head, totally buying the excuse.
“Classic Pete.
Well, you’re just in time.
The doctor is about to start the live demonstration”.
Peter leaned back in his seat, his eyes narrowing as he watched Dr.
Connors begin his presentation on the massive display screens.
The atmosphere inside the Osborn Corp grand auditorium was electric.
Dr.
Curt Connors stood confidently at the polished glass podium, his empty right sleeve pinned neatly to his immaculate white lab coat.
Above him, massive double-helix display projections of spliced human and reptilian DNA illuminated the darkened room, pulsing in a vibrant neon-green hue.
“What you are witnessing tonight is not just medicine”.
Dr.
Connors announced, his voice booming clearly through the state of the art speaker system.
“It is the end of human frailty.
By isolating the cellular regeneration properties of the common lizard, we have successfully mapped an equation that allows the human body to completely rebuild itself from catastrophic tissue loss.
Loss of limbs will be an issue of the past”.
In the front row, Harry Osborn leaned forward with a proud smile while Ned Leeds whispered frantically to Peter about how this was going to win a Nobel Prize.
The demonstration was proceeding flawlessly until the final phase of the presentation.
A nervous, sweat-soaked senior lab technician was tasked with wheeling out a equipment tray from the side of the stage.
The heavy cart was loaded with delicate sensors and syringes filled with the live Batch 14-B Regenerative Serum.
As the lab technician stepped into the bright glare of the stage spotlights, his accidentally tripped on his legs.
The man lost his footing entirely.
With a panicked cry, he fell forward with immense momentum and his hands desperately grasping the air.
He accidentally grab both the heavy metal cart and Dr.
Connors.
The impact send both of them and the cart tumbling off the raised presentation stage in a brutal tangled heap, crashing down of the platform.
The impact was catastrophic as the protective glass casing of the delivery system shattered.
In the chaotic, one of the syringes needle plunge directly into the side of Dr Curt Connor’s neck and completely discharging the volatile serum straight into his carotid artery.
“Ahhh!” Connors screamed, clutching his neck as he convulsed on the floor.
The security guards and lab technicians rushed forward to check on him but before anyone could touch him, the stump of Connors’ right arm began to rapidly spasm.
Right before the eyes of the gasping shareholders, the muscles tore, bones elongated and a brand-new fully formed human arm grew back in a matter of seconds.
A breathless silence gripped the grand auditorium.
The panicked shouts of the security guards and lab technicians died down as Dr.
Curt Connors slowly staggered to his feet, clutching his right hand.
The pinned sleeve of his lab coat tore open as a brand new human hand pushed outward fully regenerated.
Some of the shareholders started gasping in absolute admiration.
A few tech investors stood up and start clapping their hands, initiating a roaring standing ovation.
“Look at that!
It’s a medical miracle!”.
One billionaire investor shouted, frantically gesturing to his associates.
“Oscorp has just rewritten human biology!
It is a miracle.
We are going to be rich!”.
Harry Osborn smiled proudly from the front row, turning to Ned.
“He actually did it.
My dad’s company just changed the world.”
For a few minutes, everything seemed completely fine.
Dr.
Connors stared at his new fingers, flexing them in astonishment with tears of triumph welling in his eyes.
“It works” he whispered into the microphone, his voice trembling with emotion.
“The neural mapping is perfect.
The cellular replication is stable…”.
But the triumph was tragically short-lived.
“Dr.
Connors?
Are you alright?” a lab assistant asked, stepping forward as Connors suddenly froze and start choking on his words.
A harrowing guttural growl tore from Connors’ throat.
He dropped to his knees, clawing at his neck as his cells began to rapidly mutate.
The vibrant holographic lights overhead cast an eerie glow as the nightmare began.
Right before the eyes of the horrified onlookers, Connors’ freshly grown hand start thickening.
The smooth skin rippled and hardened as it change into emerald green reptilian scales.
The transformation spread like wildfire up from his arm and across his chest.
His spine buckled with a sickening wet crunch as muscular vertebrae elongated tearing through his tailored tuxedo and immaculate lab coat.
As a massive heavy reptilian tail suddenly whipped out from his lower back, shattering the presentation podium into splinters.
“Help…
me…” Connors gasped but his voice rapidly devolved into a raspy reptilian hiss.
Connors clawed at his own face as his jaw violently distended, fracturing and rebuilding itself into an elongated snout filled with rows of razor-sharp predatory teeth.
His eyes shifted from a human blue to a piercing feral yellow with vertical slit pupils.
The man was entirely gone but in his place stood a towering nine-foot monstrosity ‘the Lizard’.
With a deafening primal roar that rattled the glass dome overhead the beast struck.
All hell broke lose as panicked shareholders stampeded for the exits, screaming and knocking over chairs as the Lizard began ripping through reinforced concrete pillars.
Peter sprang into action instantly.
He couldn’t web up the beast or leap across the room without revealing his identity to Harry, Ned and the hundreds of cameras in the room.
Instead, he used his advanced spider-physiology strictly for defense and covert rescue.
When a massive concrete chunk of the caving ceiling plummeted toward a fleeing family, Peter didn’t catch it but he simply sprinted past and push them forward with a well timed dive that cleared them away from the impact zone of the concrete by an inches.
He navigated the stampede like a phantom ghost as he twist his torso at impossible angles to dodge flying debris and stray security gunfire without looking, making it appear to anyone watching like he was just an incredibly lucky clumsy guy scrambling for safety.
Spotting a bottleneck at the primary emergency doors where people were crushing against each other, Peter threw his weight into the crowd, using his strength subtly to push dozens of panicked people safely through the threshold and clear the blockage at the door.
As the Lizard swung its massive tail shattering a row of stadium seating directly toward Harry and Ned, Peter dove over the chairs grabbing both of his friends by their jackets and rolling them out of harm’s way just as the steel structures pancaked behind them.
“Pete!
We gotta get out of here!” Ned yelled over the deafening alarms, his hands shaking in terror.
“Go, go!
I’m right behind you!” Peter urged, shoving them toward the exit tunnel.
The screaming in the auditorium reached a deafening crescendo as the Lizard slammed its massive tail into the central support column, sending a shower of jagged concrete and twisted rebar raining down on the panicked crowd.
Peter’s spider-sense was a constant frantic buzz at the base of his brain.
Peter sprinted into the thick of the debris field.
A massive chunk of the upper balcony was flying straight for a group of trapped elderly board members.
Peter slid beneath it, using his shoulder to subtly intercept the falling mass so that it look like he had accidentally tripped into the rubble and deflected the crushing blow away from the civilians just in time.
“Move!
Towards the east wing exits!” Peter yelled, his voice cutting through the loud noises of the alarms.
He grabbed a panicked security guard by the vest, spinning him around to push three crying children out of the path of a collapsing steel beam.
Nearby, Norman Osborn stood frozen near the VIP section surrounded by a tight wall of heavily armed private security forces.
His face was a mask of absolute unadulterated fury rather than fear.
He watched the nine foot reptilian monstrosity tear his multi billion dollar gala to pieces.
“Fools!
Shoot it in the head!” Norman roared, his voice cracking with rage as his bodyguards tried to pull him toward a private bunker.
“That is Oscorp property!
Secure the research!
If that creature leaves this building, you’re all dead!”.
The guards opened fire but the high caliber bullets merely ricocheted off the Lizard’s dense emerald scales.
Angered by the bullets from the gunfire, the monster whirled around and lock its glowing yellow eyes onto Norman.
With a terrifying turn of speed, the Lizard lunged across the shattered stage with its jaws wide in anger as it plan to tear the Osborn CEO apart.
“Dad!
Look out!” Harry screamed from across the floor.
Peter was preparing to grab a chair to intercept the beast.
But right before he could, his spider-sense detect a familiar presence.
The massive reinforced glass dome at the top of the building shattered inward with the sound of a thunderclap.
As Rogue came crashing through the roof like a fallen meteor.
The shards of glittering glass rained down in a spectacular halo around her as she plummeted straight down from the night sky.
She lined up her descent perfectly, revealing her X-Men uniform cutting through the thick layer of dust and smoke.
With a deafening boom, she slammed boots first directly onto the Lizard’s snout just inches before the beast could reach Norman.
The sheer kinetic force of her impact sent the nine foot reptile crashing backward through the heavy mahogany presentation stage, burying the creature under tons of splintered wood.
Rogue landed flawlessly on the cracked concrete floor, her long hair whipping around her face.
She casually tossed aside a stray piece of twisted rebar, her leather-gloved hands cracking as she flexed her knuckles.
Her green eyes locked onto the spot where the Lizard was already growling beneath the wreckage, a confident sharp smirk playing on her lips.
“I don’t know what kind of cross species cocktail you’ve been drinking, sugar” Rogue called out, her voice cutting clearly through the blaring security sirens.
“Since you just ruined my surprise.
I am pissed!
And you don’t like me when i am pissed!”.
From the edge of the smoke, Peter let out a quiet sigh of relief as his hand rested securely against the extra stolen lizard serum vial that he got while rescuing the civilians.
Looking at Rogue, Peter knew his distraction plan have finally arrived.
