Immortal Venerable Yun Ci’s gaze grew thoughtful.

That arrogant, domineering temperament of hers was actually quite suitable for becoming a Saber Cultivator.

Saber Cultivators were wild and unrestrained. They regarded life and death with indifference, and if someone challenged them, they fought back. If they could settle something with their sabers, they certainly wouldn’t waste their breath arguing.Full novel: Transmigrated as a Drama Queen Junior Sister, Everyone Can Hear My Thoughts — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

When it came to matters of the heart, however, they were famous for their unwavering loyalty. Some might even call them stubbornly devoted.

Yu Xingwu had forced her Second Senior Brother into an engagement with her. That was certainly a stubborn kind of devotion, much like the Saber Cultivators themselves.

Seeing that Immortal Venerable Yun Ci remained silent, Yu Xingwu grew increasingly anxious.

She felt that she ought to say something at a time like this.

Damn it! I’m so good at flattering Shen Zhuo, so why can’t I think of anything to say now?

Wasn’t I confidently declaring earlier that I’d use my silver tongue to persuade Immortal Venerable Yun Ci to accept me as his disciple?

So she simply stepped forward, met Immortal Venerable Yun Ci’s gaze, and spoke with a nervous but bright smile.

“This disciple has liked—cough, deeply admired Immortal Venerable Yun Ci for a long time and wishes to acknowledge you as her master.”

“From this day forward, I will honor and respect Master, never disobey you, and remain absolutely loyal to you. If Master and my father both fell into a lake at the same time, I would definitely save Master first!”

Immortal Venerable Yun Ci: “…” Why would your father and I fall into a lake at the same time? Besides, your father has a Water-Attribute Spiritual Root. Would he even need saving?

Seeing that Immortal Venerable Yun Ci still wasn’t speaking, Yu Xingwu assumed he was hesitating and decided to try even harder.

“Besides, Deacon Qin is absolutely right! Immortal Venerable and I truly are connected by fate!”

“Immortal Venerable’s name is Yun Ci, which contains the character Yun, meaning cloud. My residence is called Yanyun Peak, which also contains Yun. Immortal Venerable’s mountain is called Xingluo Peak, and my name is Xingwu, which contains the character Xing, meaning star.”

“That means there’s a part of you in me and a part of me in you!”

Oh no. Why is this getting more and more ridiculous? Quick, I’ve got to bring it back on track.

“This isn’t a coincidence. It’s fate! The fate of master and disciple! It’s Heaven’s way of telling me that I should become Immortal Venerable’s disciple!”

“Apart from Immortal Venerable, I can’t find anyone else capable of teaching me saber techniques. I sincerely hope Immortal Venerable will accept me as your disciple.”

After saying all that, even Yu Xingwu was impressed by her own ability to make up such ridiculous arguments.

She’d said everything she could think of.

If Immortal Venerable Yun Ci still refused to accept her, then she would have no choice but to…

*Come back tomorrow! y∩__∩y*

Immortal Venerable Yun Ci hadn’t expected the Grand Elder’s daughter, who had always been so arrogant and domineering, to come up with so many strange and far-fetched reasons just to become his disciple.

She really has gone to a great deal of trouble.

“Does your master know you’ve come here to acknowledge me as your master?”

Yu Xingwu shook her head vigorously, like a rattle drum, and replied calmly, “Master doesn’t know. Besides, he only accepted a new disciple yesterday. I doubt he has time to concern himself with me.”

She wasn’t making that up.

According to the original novel’s storyline, after the female protagonist became the male protagonist’s disciple, he devoted all his energy to carefully guiding her cultivation.

He cleansed and refined her meridians, strengthened her Spiritual Roots, taught her swordsmanship, took her down the mountain for practical training, and so on.

All while going through another eight hundred chapters of their torturous romance.

With all that going on, how could he possibly have time to look after Yu Xingwu?

That was also why, in the original novel, Yu Xingwu, who possessed a Heavenly Spiritual Root, eventually fell behind the female protagonist, who had Mixed Spiritual Roots.

Immortal Venerable Yun Ci frowned slightly.

For some reason, he could sense a trace of grievance and stubbornness beneath Yu Xingwu’s calm expression.

Perhaps Qin Ying’s earlier account of Yu Xingwu’s misfortunes had influenced him, because his heart softened.

He spoke seriously. “Since you’ve made up your mind to pursue the path of Saber Cultivation and have made so many promises, I’ll accept you as my disciple.”

“From today onward, you will be the tenth disciple under me, Yun Ci. Since I’ve agreed to become your master, I won’t put you in a difficult position. Tomorrow, I’ll visit Zhaoyao Peak and speak with Sword Venerable Feng Chen.”

Yu Xingwu froze for a moment.

Are all Saber Cultivators this bold? Why do I suddenly smell a showdown brewing?

Of course, she meant a showdown between two masters competing over a disciple.

But the male protagonist only cared about the female protagonist!

Later in the storyline, he would even expel Yu Xingwu from the sect. He probably wouldn’t care whether she had another master.

He might even be relieved that he no longer had to teach a Vicious Female Supporting Character like her.

A showdown? Looks like I was imagining things.

She hurried forward, afraid Yun Ci might change his mind, and immediately knelt to perform the formal disciple acceptance ceremony.

“Master, please accept this disciple’s bow.”

Immortal Venerable Yun Ci nodded and gestured for Yu Xingwu to rise.

Although she was somewhat arrogant, she still understood proper etiquette.

Besides, which Saber Cultivator wasn’t a little arrogant?

…

By the time they left Xingluo Peak, evening had already fallen.

Yu Xingwu was practically skipping with joy. She was only a step away from bursting into song.

Qin Ying, walking beside her, hadn’t expected Immortal Venerable Yun Ci to be so agreeable either.

Who would have thought Yu Xingwu could become his disciple so smoothly?

Yun Ci had even said that tomorrow evening, he would summon his other nine disciples to formally meet Yu Xingwu. He intended to inform them all tonight that he’d accepted her as his disciple.

Yu Xingwu thanked Qin Ying and prepared to return to Yanyun Peak.

If Qin Ying hadn’t helped her today, she wouldn’t have been able to become Immortal Venerable Yun Ci’s disciple so easily.

Therefore, when she found an opportunity, she would definitely record plenty more pictures of Yu Zheng’s abs and send them to Qin Ying!

On the way back to her peak, Yu Xingwu was already preparing to throw herself into intensive cultivation.

After accepting her as his disciple today, Yun Ci had bestowed upon her a Saber Cultivation Heart Technique of his own creation.

One reason Yun Ci was regarded as the foremost Saber Cultivator was that all the Saber Cultivation Heart Techniques practiced by his disciples had been created by him personally.

Heart Techniques were different from Cultivation Techniques, although the two were closely connected.

Cultivation Techniques referred to the actual moves and combat methods, while Heart Techniques focused on strengthening one’s inner cultivation and allowing those techniques to unleash greater power.

As one’s mastery of a Heart Technique advanced, the power of one’s Cultivation Techniques would increase accordingly.

Like Cultivation Techniques and weapons, Heart Techniques were divided into grades: Heaven-Grade, Supreme-Grade, High-Grade, Mid-Grade, and Low-Grade.

Although Yun Ci had created his Heart Techniques himself, their quality was undoubtedly Supreme-Grade, or perhaps even Heaven-Grade, which ranked above it.

There was more than one type of Saber Cultivation Heart Technique, and choosing the right one also depended on the attributes of one’s Spiritual Root.

However, considering that Yu Xingwu was a woman, Yun Ci had initially selected a Heart Technique called Spirit Control for her.

Although it wasn’t the most suitable Saber Cultivation Heart Technique for someone with a Fire-Attribute Spiritual Root, it placed the greatest emphasis on defense.

Since Saber Cultivators specialized in close combat, having strong defensive capabilities was naturally beneficial.

Yu Xingwu understood why Yun Ci had chosen it. He probably felt that, as a young woman, she should have better protection to avoid being injured too frequently in future battles.

But she was a Vicious Female Supporting Character destined for a miserable ending!

She had to follow the storyline, so how could she possibly avoid getting injured?

Besides, she’d already died 365 times. Why would she be afraid of getting hurt?

Therefore, she insisted on choosing the Heart Technique most suitable for cultivating with a Fire-Attribute Heavenly Spiritual Root—Annihilation.

Just listen to that name! How incredibly badass! There’s absolutely no reason not to choose it!

The Annihilation Heart Technique was divided into nine levels.

The higher the level one reached, the greater the offensive power of one’s Cultivation Techniques, allowing each attack to inflict the maximum possible damage.

Yu Xingwu had no intention of sleeping tonight.

She planned to begin meditating and cultivating the first level of the Heart Technique as soon as she returned to her room.

However, the instant she pushed open her door, her pupils contracted sharply.

She was so frightened that her soul nearly left her body!

She could barely get her words out.

“M-Master… What brings you here? Why didn’t you inform this disciple in advance…?”

【Damned system! What’s going on?! Why did the male protagonist suddenly come to my room?! Why didn’t you tell me he was here earlier?! Are you trying to scare me to death?!】

The system replied, “Host, I didn’t expect the male protagonist to come looking for you, a Vicious Female Supporting Character, either. So I didn’t bother checking whether anyone was in the room.”

Yu Xingwu: “…”

Sword Venerable Feng Chen sat upright in a grand armchair inside the room.

His gaze settled on the Red Lotus Saber strapped to Yu Xingwu’s back, and his eyes suddenly darkened.

The expression on his face turned frighteningly cold.

His hands were clenched so tightly into fists that his knuckles made cracking sounds, while the veins on the backs of his hands stood out prominently.

Translator’s Note: Later on in Chapter 37, Yu Xingwu’s cheap dad is said to have a Mutated Fire-Attribute Single Spiritual Root but here it’s a Water-Attribute Spiritual Root. I checked 3 sources so it’s not a me error. I’m thinking it’s a mixture of fire and water since it’s mutated.. but shouldn’t that be a dual spiritual root? Idk…
