The lady readied herself once again.
She took a deep breath and exhaled softly before putting on the blindfold again. She clenched and unclenched her fists, trying to flex her fingers before firing out any magic again.
The kids had already collected the chocolates and ran away, back to their positions in the retry line.
"Ready? In three, two, one, and go!!!" Enrique announced the start of the second round and the woman immediately raised her hand and shot out a fireball!
But surprisingly! Within a fraction of a second, the demon dummy swung sideways!
"It dodged!!!" Someone in the crowd shouted in surprise.
The lady was confused about how a dummy hanging from a tree could dodge her fireballs, but she wasn’t done, no she immediately threw out a barrage of fireballs.
Yet the dummy dodged each one of the fireballs with the precision of a hair’s breadth.
The dummy had been silent for the first few dodges, but suddenly after ten seconds, the dummy opened its mouth and spoke kindly.
"Look here, what did I tell you? You only hit me because I didn’t dodge! Now you see who’s the weak one among us!? It’s you, you fatty!!"
BBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!
With the sound of the buzzer being buzzed, the lady opened her blindfold and glared at the demon, but Enrique coughed to get her attention and signaled her the same thing he’d done for the kids.
His chin pointed towards the retry line.
The lady huffed, punched the air and quietly went back into the retry line.
"You did well... don’t worry about it... this is training... which means we can do it multiple times... you’ll get used to it soon enough."
[Player played game, emotional value generated +3.]
’Hmm... do adults just give out more points? Or is it based on how into the game they get?’
Soon the next adult came up to play and it seemed like she wasn’t as good as the first lady so she wasn’t even able to cross the first reward checkpoint before she too had to join the retry line giving him only one emotional value.
’I guess they have to get into the game for it to be anything above one.’
Adults played one by one after that, quickly lining up as they wanted to experience the high of taking the demon dummy off its high horses after it had insulted them through their children.
"Hey!!! That’s not fair!! I definitely hit the dummy five times!! I should get the first reward too!!!"
"No you fool!! The dummy is right!! You would be safe in a zombie apocalypse because you don’t have a brain and can’t even do basic math!!"
In all this it was only the kids winning since they kept getting chocolates after the guards fought the demon dummy and with their competence usually won the first round of the challenge with the demon dummy.
They even seemed more excited than the adults for them to quickly go up and play another round!
"Come on!!! More chocolate!!! More chocolate!!! Don’t you want to avenge your children!!! Don’t you want to beat up the demon that cursed you!!! More chocolate!!! More chocolate!!!"
Soon, one of the adults, a guard using a spear, got through the first round where he won chocolates, challenged the demon dummy in the second round and won!
He got a flaming spear as a reward which excited him to no end, causing everyone to become even more motivated to collect all the rewards.
Even the children were motivated because when the guard used the flaming spear in his next round it shot out fire slashes and flaming stabs when he used it, making it look super cool to them.
The guard had finally managed to break through to the third level, revealing to everyone what was in store for them now. And the demon dummy did not disappoint.
This time the demon dummy began its counter attack!
Each time it would dodge, if it was given even a second of breathing time, it would deliberately smash into the player’s blindfolded head, causing a small concussion before immediately running away!
The guard lasted in this level for the whole ten seconds before the buzzer buzzed because he didn’t hit the demon dummy enough times and he lost because he wasn’t used to the flaming spear just yet.
Still he was excited because he won the flaming spear in the second round.
Annabeth struggled to get past the first round itself, but barely managed to win it and grant the children their wish of chocolates, she quickly picked up one to save for Lucifer too.
Soon a hundred and thirty three people all completed the challenge at least once giving Lucifer a grand total of one hundred and fifty points.
The retry line was about to begin its round for the first time with the kids whose faces were smudged with chocolate, except-
"STOP!!!"
Someone shouted out loud.
Suddenly everyone turned to look at who it was that had shouted and they realised it was Jack...
The man had been tied up and forced to watch as everyone around him was cheering, playing and most importantly having fun!
It was a torturing experience!
"I haven’t had a chance!!! Untie me!!!" Jack almost begged as he looked at Enrique.
Enrique gave Lucifer a short glance and Lucifer simply nodded, he didn’t particularly discriminate against people who he hated from playing his games.
After all any emotional value farmed was more important for him since it extended his lifespan.
’And who knows... because this guy seems quite emotional... Maybe he’ll give me even more emotional points?’
So Enrique looked at Jack and allowed him to play the game but he had a condition-
"You can only play as long as you apologise to Lucifer. And that goes for all of you..."
"Lucifer might be a half demon, but he’s also a half human, even if you hate demons, for the human in him, why not trust him once regardless of the strange prophecy..."
"After all, do you want to subject a child to your pain and wrath simply because it was rumoured that a half demon will destroy the human world!?"
Everyone fell into a stunned silence however Jack had had enough!
He pushed against the restraints holding him back and shouted!
"DON’T YOU DARE BRING UP THAT DEMON!!! WHAT’S THAT GOT TO DO WITH THE GAME!!!"
Suddenly, Enrique looked back at Jack with a fierce gaze and snapped his fingers, "Then apologise."
GASP!!!!!!!
Suddenly everyone gasped as they spotted Lucifer standing right beside Enrique.
