A splitting headache pounded through my skull.

It felt like the morning after drinking far too much wine and sake.

Mein Fuhrer!”

A shrill voice kept calling out to me.

I could see, yet nothing truly registered.

I could hear the words, yet they failed to reach my mind.

It was like those first moments after waking from a deep sleep, when even your own existence feels strangely unreal.

“Himmler…

that’s enough.

I’m fine.”

…Himmler?

As if emerging from a dream, my mind slowly cleared.

My sense of self returned piece by piece, and the sights and sounds around me finally began to make sense.

“Mein Fuhrer!

Are you truly all right?!

You suddenly froze!

I nearly had a heart attack!”

“Don’t be so dramatic, Himmler.”

Goring cut in, his usual air of self-importance impossible to miss.

“Still, Mein Fuhrer, I believe Himmler has a point.

You don’t look well at all.

Perhaps you should retire and get some rest.”

…Goring.

As my vision finally came into focus, I found myself looking at two men.

One was a broad, blond giant.

The other was a thin, bespectacled man whose nervous demeanor seemed etched into every feature.

Beyond them stretched a grand hall filled with guests.

Most were too occupied with their conversations, the music, and the lavish banquet to pay any attention to the disturbance near the seat of honor.

The room itself was magnificently decorated.

Every piece of furniture, every ornament, every chandelier had clearly been chosen with painstaking care to create an atmosphere worthy of a grand celebration.

But none of that caught my eye.

The swastika…

A flag that would never have been displayed in the era I came from.

A flag whose public display could even be considered a crime.

And yet here it hung openly, proudly, dominating the hall.

Its presence declared without a word that the people gathered beneath it were the masters of this place.

“Very well, Goring.

I suppose I’ve had a bit too much to drink.

I’ll be taking my leave.”

Himmler immediately raised his voice.

“Mein Fuhrer is departing!”

He hadn’t spoken all that loudly.

Yet every person in the hall turned toward me at once.

So I was wrong.

They’d noticed something was off all along.

“Heil Hitler!”

…Yeah.

That figures.

It would seem…

I’ve been reincarnated as Hitler himself.
