In the passenger seat, Tracy didn't answer immediately.

His gaze swept over the rearview mirror, taking a glance at the police car relentlessly pursuing them, then looked at the motor unit parallel on the left. His eyes narrowed slightly, and the relaxed curve of his mouth slowly flattened.

He wasn't panicked, but his expression clearly darkened.Full novel: Transmigrated Into a Female-Lead Novel: Time to Teach Every CEO a Lesson! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

How did the police get involved?

This wasn't Germany, not the tangled web of his family's influence.

The Xia police's response was much faster than he had anticipated.

"Woo—doo! Doodoo!"

"Ba A87777! We are traffic police! Pull over immediately!"

The voice from behind grew more urgent, the pitch rising, the sense of urgency transmitted through the loudspeaker, as if one could directly see the serious expression on the traffic officer's face.

Lin Yutang took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm.

She didn't dare make a sound, didn't dare move, didn't even dare let Tracy notice the flicker of hope in her eyes.

But her heartbeat was already racing uncontrollably.

This was an opportunity, her only opportunity.

"Ignore them," Tracy's voice finally sounded, steady as if the sirens didn't exist, "Keep driving to the airport."

He paused, turned his head, and instructed the man beside Lin Yutang in the backseat, "Call the family head in the Xia region, have him handle the police here."

The man immediately pulled out his phone, looking for the number.

Tracy's tone was so certain, so certain that the hope Lin Yutang had just ignited wavered violently.

She instinctively looked at him, seeing his relaxed posture in the seat.

To him, anything that could be solved with money and power wasn't a problem.

"By the way," Tracy spoke again, his voice indifferent, "find out how the police got involved. Who reported it, bring them over."

He turned his head, his gaze crossing the seatback, landing on Lin Yutang's face.

There was no intense emotion in those eyes, only a kind of confidence and ruthlessness.

"I want Lin Yutang to watch him die."

Lin Yutang's pupils contracted sharply.

Her shoulders trembled, her hands clenched into fists, and then she sank into a deeper chill.

Could it really be possible?

Could this person really handle even the Xia police?

"Young master," the driver suddenly spoke, glancing at the rearview mirror, "that blue sports car behind us, it's probably the one that called the police. It's been following us since earlier, and it's still there."

He nodded towards the rearview mirror.

Behind the flashing police lights, a bright blue Aston Martin trailed at a steady pace, maintaining a distance.

"Note the license plate, have them check it out," Tracy said casually, not even turning his head.

The driver, controlling the car as it weaved through traffic, squinted to discern the license plate of the sports car through the gaps between police cars.

Then he reported the license plate number clearly, digit by digit.

The other man had already dialed the phone, reporting the license plate number to the person on the other end, whispering instructions.

"Woo—woo wah woo wah—!"

At that moment, the police car's siren behind them blared, shifting from short bursts to a continuous wail.

Simultaneously, the loudspeaker on the police car changed its message, the tone no longer a traffic warning but a more severe admonition.

"Front vehicle, stop immediately! You are suspected of serious violent crime! Pull over for inspection immediately!"

Before the words were finished, two more cars emerged from the right-side junction.

A police SUV and a black SWAT assault vehicle merged onto the main road, sirens blaring.

In an instant, three police cars and one assault vehicle closely followed the Mercedes-Benz from behind and the sides.

The overlapping sirens made the car windows tremble slightly.

Not long after, at the traffic light intersection two hundred meters ahead, two patrol cars had already stopped horizontally in the middle of the road, with roadblocks set up.

Cones completely blocked the road.

Warning strobe lights flashed continuously, several officers stood behind the roadblocks waving traffic batons, the foremost officer extending his right hand straight out, palm forward, making the standard stop gesture.

"Young master..." the driver's voice carried hesitation.

Ahead was a roadblock, behind were pursuers, and police cars flanked them on both sides.

This formation, to force their way through?

The driver had no confidence at all.

The roadblock didn't look sturdy, but if they crashed into it, the front of the car would definitely crumple, and they'd be overturned, unable to escape.

Being forced to stop would be even more troublesome; once the door opened, they'd be surrounded by police, with nowhere to hide.

Moreover...

He gripped the steering wheel, his palms slick with sweat.

He was just the driver! He hadn't robbed a bank! Was all this really necessary?

...Oh, right, they did just kidnap someone in broad daylight.

So that's fine...

...Fine, my ass!

Wouldn't the police now consider them kidnappers?!

The driver felt his heart pounding in his chest faster than when he first confessed to a girl he liked. He gripped the steering wheel, a wave of wanting to cry surging up his nose.

Tracy saw the roadblock ahead, and the flashing police lights on both sides.

He turned his head, his gaze landing on Lin Yutang in the backseat.

She was huddled between two men, her face pale, lips tightly pressed, but the faint glimmer in her eyes hadn't been completely hidden.

Tracy looked at her, his mouth slowly curling into a cold, meaningful smile.

"Lin Yutang, do you think you can escape?"

Lin Yutang didn't answer.

"Remember," Tracy withdrew his gaze, looking forward again, his voice dropping in a clear, deliberate tone, "all these troubles, you caused them, and I'll remember every one."

A hint of coldness flashed in his eyes, and he no longer looked at her.

"Drive through," he instructed the driver.

His tone was calm, casual.

Lin Yutang closed her eyes.

The sirens continued to blare, deafening.

Hearing Tracy's command to "drive through," the driver felt a shiver run down his spine.

He gritted his teeth, and his right foot slammed the accelerator to the floor.

The speed didn't decrease, the black Mercedes-Benz charged straight towards the officers standing behind the roadblock at the intersection.

Whistles sounded in unison.

Several officers blew their whistles urgently in warning, but seeing the Mercedes-Benz not slowing down, instead accelerating, the young officers' faces finally couldn't maintain their composure.

"Get out of the way!"

An older traffic officer shouted, reaching out to yank a young officer who was a beat too slow in reacting, pulling him and his arm forcefully to the side of the road.

Several other traffic officers simultaneously ran to the sides, their steps hurried, police hats askew.

"Bang—clang!"

With several dull thuds, the Mercedes-Benz's front bumper knocked over several cones placed in the middle of the road, the car jolted, forcing its way through the gap in the roadblock.

The tires screeched against the pavement, continuing to charge forward down the road.
