It was the ultimate "Kabedon" (Wall Slam), except it was a "Desk Slam."

From the perspective of everyone else in the room—including Ibiki—it looked like the proctor had aggressively pinned a female student to her chair and was leaning in for a kiss or a very intense whisper.

"Kyaaa!" Hinata screamed, her face exploding into crimson.Full novel: Transmigrated into Naruto World with Netorare Situation System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Netorare Situation Detected!" The System announced gleefully. "The 'Proctor's Aggressive Inspection' Event. High Authority Figure Bonus! Shy Points Gained: One Thousand Two Hundred."

The room went dead silent. Even the scratching of pencils stopped.

Ibiki Morino looked up from his newspaper. His scarred eye twitched.

"Sentinel A-4," Ibiki growled. "What are you doing to that examinee?"

The Sentinel, realizing his position, scrambled back, his face pale. "Sir! I tripped! She... she hit my clipboard!"

"I am sorry!" Hinata wailed, covering her face. "I just wanted my pencil!"

"It is true!" I shouted, standing up (carefully, so I didn't look suspicious). "He fell! It was an accident! I saw the whole thing! It was the Rain Ninja's chair!"

I pointed an accusing finger at the terrified Rain Genin in front.

"M-Me?" the Rain Genin squeaked.

"Sit down!" Ibiki roared. "Sentinel A-4, get back to your post. If you trip again, you are fired. And you, girl..."

He looked at Hinata, who looked ready to die.

"...keep your hands to yourself. This is an exam, not a wrestling match."

"Yes, sir," Hinata whispered.

I sat back down, sweating. That was close. But hey, 1,200 points.

Current Balance: 4,250 Points.

I finished copying the answers. I nudged Hinata’s arm and subtly slid my paper to the edge of the desk so she could see it with her Byakugan. She quickly copied the answers, her handwriting shaking.

Forty-five minutes passed. The tension in the room grew until it was suffocating. People were being thrown out left and right for cheating. Kankuro came back from the bathroom with his cheat-puppet trick. Gaara used his Sand Eye. Sasuke used his Sharingan.

Finally, Ibiki slammed his hand on the desk.

"Pencils down!"

Everyone froze.

"Now," Ibiki said, his voice dropping to a terrifying whisper. "We move to the Tenth Question."

He explained the rules. If you chose to take the question and got it wrong, you would be banned from taking the Chunin Exams forever. You would be a Genin for life. If you chose to leave, you could try again next year.

"So," Ibiki said, his eyes boring into our souls. "Who wants to quit? Raise your hand."

Hands started going up. People were breaking under the pressure.

"I quit!"

"Me too! I can't take the risk!"

I looked at Hinata. She was trembling. The "Seat Anchor" was the only thing keeping her in the chair, but her spirit was wavering. She looked at me, worry etched on her face. She was raising her hand slowly.

("No you don't,") I thought. ("In the anime, Naruto inspires everyone. I need to do that, but better.")

I slammed my hand down on the desk.

Bam!

The noise startled everyone. Hinata flinched, her hand dropping.

I stood up.

"Don't underestimate me!" I shouted, channeling every ounce of Shonen Protagonist energy I had. "I don't care if I stay a Genin for the rest of my life! I will still become Hokage one day! So bring it on! I am not scared of your stupid question!"

I glared at Ibiki.

"And neither is my team!" I added, gesturing to Sasuke and Sakura. "And neither is my girlfriend!"

I pointed at Hinata.

"H-He called me his girlfriend..." Hinata whispered, turning red again and fainting slightly in her chair (thankfully, the glue held her upright).

The room stared at me. Then, slowly, the fear began to evaporate. The other ninjas looked at my determination and found their own courage. The hands that were raised slowly lowered.

Ibiki looked at me. He stared for a long, hard minute. Then, a small smile cracked his scarred face.

"Interesting," Ibiki said. "Very well. For those of you remaining..."

He ripped off his headband, revealing the horrific burn scars and screw holes on his head. A gasp went through the room.

"You pass the first exam."

"WHAT?!" The room exploded in confusion.

"The tenth question was to test your resolve," Ibiki explained. "To see if you could face the unknown. You passed."

"Yes!" I cheered, throwing my hands up. "I knew it! Easy!"

"Easy for you to say," Sakura grumbled, slumping in her seat. "I almost had a heart attack."

Suddenly, the glass window at the side of the room shattered.

CRASH!

A banner flew into the room, pinning itself to the ceiling with kunai. A woman in a mesh shirt and a trench coat leaped in, landing in a dramatic pose in front of Ibiki.

"Alright, you maggots!" she screamed. "No time to celebrate! I am Anitarashii Anko, the proctor for the second exam!"

She looked around the room, counting the students.

"Seventy-eight?" Anko frowned, looking at Ibiki. "You let twenty-six teams pass? You are getting soft, Ibiki."

"Or maybe we just have a talented batch this year," Ibiki shrugged.

"We will see," Anko grinned, licking her lips. "By the time I am done with them in the Forest of Death, half of them will be gone."

She pointed at us. "Meet me at Training Ground 44 in one hour! Don't be late!"

As the students began to file out, I turned to help Hinata.

"System," I thought. ("Deactivate Seat Anchor.")

"Deactivating," the System confirmed.

Hinata gasped as the invisible force released her. She tried to stand up, but her legs were numb from sitting so still for an hour.

"Oh!"

She stumbled.

I caught her effortlessly, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Got you," I said.

She looked up at me, her eyes shining. "Naruto-kun... you were amazing. That speech..."

"It was nothing," I said. "Just the truth."

"Hey, lovebirds!" Kiba shouted from the doorway. "Get a room! We have a survival exam to get to!"
