Bai Xue Returns
Nearly a month had passed within the mental dimension when finally two days elapsed in the outside world.
Bai Xue then left the mental dimension and hurried to the Hundred Demons Forest before anyone from the Bai family could spot her.
While in the dimension, she had mastered the use of the halberd, but since the Thunderbolt Halberd Roars was a divine-level weapon and a legendary forbidden artifact, she decided she would not summon it unless absolutely necessary.
“Bai Die, can you take me to a spot where no demon beasts or spirit animals are present?”
“Of course, Young Miss.”
Bai Xue didn’t want any creatures to be affected by her fake thunderbolt, so she asked Bai Die to guide her to a lifeless location.
She followed Bai Die’s directions on Xiao Hong, as Bai Die couldn’t leave the mental dimension herself.
She could only split a small part of her spirit, like when she shared a bit with Bai Tu, and extended her power from Bai Xue’s body for healing or protection.
Xiao Hong led Bai Xue to an empty cave, which she then arranged to resemble her alchemy room as a disguise.
Once everything was set, she immediately began her plan to create a fake thunderbolt.
“Alright, Xiao Yin, show me your power!”
Clang!
With a slight movement of her hand, the silver bracelet transformed back into the large halberd.
“Thunderbolt Roars!”
Crack!
A massive bolt of lightning struck down from the sky with force, and though it wasn’t as powerful as a real thunderbolt, it was convincing enough to make any onlooker believe it was a heavenly punishment.
The lightning surged towards Xiao Yin, which absorbed it completely before everything calmed down.
Bai Xue smiled satisfactorily, knowing this would dispel any suspicions about her encounter with the thunderbolt.
After executing her plan flawlessly, Bai Xue immediately returned to the mental dimension to continue her secluded training until it was time to return to the Bai family.
Once her grandfather was healed, she would start improving the Bai family immediately.
Wait, Sun Chi Chen of Pirun City, just wait.
I would come for your head myself!
Crack!
Back at the Bai family, Bai Ling suddenly stood up during his training with Meng Xian, startled by the sound of thunder echoing throughout the area.
“That!
That was…”
“Thunderbolt!
Certainly!” Meng Xian said, looking in the same direction as Bai Ling before hearing rushing footsteps towards them.
“Grandfather!/Brother!”
“That was…” Bai Lian, Bai San, and others arrived almost simultaneously, stopping in front of the family’s elders, Bai Ling, and Meng Xian.
“It was a thunderbolt,” Bai Ling confirmed, his gaze not moving from the direction where the thunderbolt had occurred.
It came from the Hundred Demons Forest…
Could it be Xue Er?
“Was that thunderbolt… Xue Er, Grandfather?” Bai San asked excitedly, pleased to hear it was a thunderbolt.
“It might be her, or it might not,” Bai Ling replied softly.
Thunderbolts could occur for various reasons, like a spirit animal ascending to a divine level.
But such an event hadn’t occurred in the hundred years since they settled near the Hundred Demons Forest.
But this time, he hoped it was because of Bai Xue.
“If it’s Xue Er, she’ll return soon. Don’t worry,” Meng Xian reassured them, seeing Bai Ling’s concern.
Facing a thunderbolt was difficult; though he had never faced one personally, the survival rate spoke volumes of its ferocity.
“And if Xue Er doesn’t return…” Bai San’s worry mirrored his grandfather, his little sister facing the most dangerous thunderbolt alone, and he could do nothing. This chapter is updated first at g.com.
“Nonsense! Xue Er said she wouldn’t let me die. She must return.”
After speaking, Bai Ling sat down to continue his training, preparing his body to be healed by Bai Xue as promised.
His granddaughter was a genius; surely, she would return safely.
Flap Flap
Suddenly, a phoenix flew towards them, Xiao Hong, bypassed the protective spells because it was Bai Xue’s contracted animal.
“A spirit beast! It’s a phoenix!” Meng Xian reacted first, ready to attack the unexpected visitor.
But Xiao Hong was faster, dropping two bottles of elixir in front of Bai Ling – one a detoxifying elixir of the black orchid and the other a life-extending elixir only lasting ten days, with five pills!
Since Bai Xue couldn’t return yet without arousing suspicion, she sent Xiao Hong as her messenger.
“Is that an elixir?”
Meng Xian clearly saw what Xiao Hong dropped before it flew away swiftly.
Everything happened so fast, and Xiao Hong had already left.
“Elixirs… detoxifying elixir of the black orchid and a life-extending elixir!” When Bai Ling opened the bottle, a fragrant aroma spread, indicating the types of elixirs he held.
“There are five pills, aren’t there!” Meng Xian exclaimed in astonishment.
Even one pill was immensely valuable, yet here were five!
“Grandfather, please take the elixir quickly. Xue Er must have sent them for you for sure!” Bai San spoke up, relieved that Bai Xue succeeded and was safe.
“Sob, Xue Er,” Bai Ling couldn’t help but tear up, overwhelmed by his granddaughter’s effort to save his life.
The life of this useless old man.
“Brother, please take it,” Bai Lian urged Bai Ling, understanding his deep emotions.
Xue Er truly was a good child.
“There are five pills. You all should share them. The life-extending elixir can only be stored for ten days; don’t let it go to waste,” Bai Ling wiped away his tears before distributing the life-extending elixir to Bai San, Jiu Ying, Bai Lian, and Meng Xian.
Meng Lian had already returned to the Meng family and did not receive an elixir this time.
Although the life-extending elixir did not enhance strength, it did extend life.
The most critical recipient here was Bai Ling, but since the elixir couldn’t be stored for long, letting it sit would be wasteful.
The four of them agreed to consume it, instantly gaining an increased lifespan without having to elevate their power levels!
They felt truly indebted to Bai Xue; everything they received was due to her sole effort.
Meanwhile, Bai Xue secluded herself for training for an entire year within the mental dimension, while nearly two months passed in the outside world.
Her body became significantly stronger.
During her time in the dimension, she devoted herself entirely to martial training and alchemy.
She concocted various detoxifying elixirs, wanting to study all poisons to ensure none could harm her family again.
Fortunately, the cave storing manuals contained many texts on poisons, allowing Bai Xue to study them immediately.
One downside, though Bai Xue spent what felt like years in the mental dimension, she didn’t age at all.
Her age remained consistent with the external world’s timeline.
Now, Bai Xue harbored another dream: to escape the body of a ten-year-old!
Despite the world having numerous miraculous elixirs, why were there none to accelerate growth, yet there were ones to preserve youth?
Bai Xue found this unfair, prompting her to resolve to develop a growth-accelerating elixir herself, although it proved more challenging than anticipated.
’Young Miss?’
“Hmm?
What is it?”
’It’s time to leave, Young Miss.’
Let’s go, Xiao Hong, Bai Tu,” Bai Xue nodded slightly to Bai Die before taking Xiao Hong and Bai Tu out of the mental dimension.
Bai Xue emerged in the alchemy cave she had created when she left the mental dimension to create the fake thunderbolt.
She had asked Bai Die to erect a protective barrier around this cave to prevent other creatures from inhabiting it.
Afterward, she began to move rare herbs, gold coins, spirit stones, and a large amount of spirit crystals out from the mental dimension, making it appear as though they were produced by the thunderbolt.
She planned to tell her brother to come and transport them back later.
“Xiao Hong, let’s go home.”
Whoosh!
Bai Xue leaped onto Xiao Hong’s back, holding Bai Tu tightly in her arms, and Xiao Hong flew them back to the Bai family.
Bai Die extended her power along the way to deter any demon beasts or spirit beasts higher-level than Bai Xue and Xiao Hong.
It didn’t take long for Bai Xue to return to the Bai family!
Upon landing, she did not store Xiao Hong in the mental dimension.
Xiao Hong shrank into a small red bird and perched on Bai Xue’s shoulder instead.
Thump!
“Young Miss!”
“Auntie!”
“Auntie’s back!”
Just a few steps into the mansion, the excited shouts of Bai Xue’s two nephews filled the air.
She hadn’t noticed that she had landed in the middle of their martial arts practice area.
Nearby, Zi Shu, who was also training, looked on with their teacher, Zi Zhong.
Bai Tian and Bai Lan dropped their wooden weapons in surprise upon seeing Bai Xue, who had been away for so long, and rushed over to hug her immediately.
The two nephews seemed to have grown fatter.
“Auntie, you’re back.”
“I thought you wouldn’t be back in time for my birthday, Auntie…
I missed you.”
“Auntie, sob, Bai Tu, I missed you too,” Bai Lan cried, staining Bai Xue’s robe with tears.
“Eh, Auntie, do you have a new pet?” Bai Tian, not crying, was instead interested in Xiao Hong on Bai Xue’s shoulder.
“Um, this is Xiao Hong, my contracted beast.”
Bai Xue smiled at her two nephews, who were both crying and hugging her, bombarding her with questions until she heard the hurried footsteps of several people approaching.
“Xue Er!” Soon, Bai Ling and the others whom Bai Lan and Bai Tian had called out to, arrived.
“Grandfather… I’m back,” Bai Xue smiled.
Bai Ling was moved to tears seeing his granddaughter standing before him once again.
That was all he had hoped for.
Even if she hadn’t succeeded, it didn’t matter; her return was enough.
“Good to have you back, my grandchild.”
“Xue Er…” Bai San’s voice rose, and Bai Xue turned to smile at him too.
“Brother, I’m back.”
“Good, good,” Bai San nodded, his previous worries dissipating.
His sister was safe and seemed even stronger.
It was truly the best outcome.
“Great-aunt Lian, Great-uncle Xian, thank you for taking care of Grandfather,” Bai Xue then thanked Bai Lian and Meng Xian, who stood beside Bai Ling.
“What are you saying? We are all one family.”
And so, the Bai family was lively, welcoming Bai Xue’s return.
Bai Ling organized a small feast for her and invited the villagers to join, signifying the Bai family’s improved living conditions and progress.
Bai Ling had fully recovered and advanced to the spirit-level power.
Bai Xue smiled happily, ready to devote herself to developing the Bai family further!Read ‘Transmigration: When Miss Assassin Becomes a Farmgirl’ before anyone else with more chapters at https://www.jinovel.com/en/publisher/novel/34187f79-aaf0-4e77-9daf-f2d2901cae6c
