The blood in his mouth had dried to a stiff, coppery crust at the corner of his lip, and every time Yan Chi breathed in too deeply, the bruise across his chest answered with a dull, spreading ache. The spit Yan Jing had left on the flagstones still lived behind his eyes. So did Cao Ning's silver hair disappearing around the flowering hedge. So did his mother's red robe and the soft press of her breasts against his face.

He ignored all of it.

He sat cross-legged on the polished floor of his room with his back straight and his palms turned up on his knees, the way the glowing diagrams in his mind told him to. The silk curtains were drawn tight over the windows. The oil lamps in their bronze cranes burned low, their flames small and steady, throwing soft gold over the carved screen and the rumpled bed and the stack of cultivation manuals on the desk that the old Yan Chi had read a hundred times and never understood. It was the same floor that had held Yan Chi's useless body through years of failed meditation, the same spot where he had sat and wept with frustration while qi slipped through him like water through cracked hands.Full novel: Transmitted Into a Cultivation world with a Perverted System. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The Divine Cultivation Method opened in his mind the way a starving man opens a sealed jar of wine.

God-level.

The diagrams unfolded behind his eyes in clean, luminous lines. They showed a human body drawn in light, with meridians running through it like rivers on a map, acupoints glowing like small stars along their courses and the dantian burning low in the belly like a banked furnace. Beside the body, breathing patterns arranged themselves in long, patient cycles. Draw in for a count of nine. Hold and guide for a count of six. Release for a count of nine. Then another cycle, deeper, the qi following a different branch.

He inhaled.

The air of the room was thin with qi, weak and scattered, the ambient energy of an ordinary chamber in an ordinary mansion. The old techniques Yan Chi had learned would barely have caught a wisp of it. But the god-level pattern didn't catch. It pulled. The moment his breath followed the first cycle, he felt the thin qi in the room shiver and turn toward him like iron filings toward a lodestone. It slid in through his nose and the pores of his skin, cool at first, then warming as it sank.

Heat woke in his dantian.

It was small, a coal glowing in ash. He exhaled and guided it the way the diagram showed, and the heat climbed his spine vertebra by vertebra, slow and deliberate. It spread across his shoulders and down his arms and settled into the marrow of bones that had never known real strength.

Again.

He inhaled again, pulling more qi this time and denser than before, until the heat in his belly doubled and spread along the newly opened channels like warm oil.

The method didn't whisper that it doubled his cultivation speed. It proved it, second by second, breath by breath, as the thin stream of ambient qi thickened under his pull and sank into him like warm oil. Each inhale dragged in more. Each exhale refined what he'd taken and packed it down. Heat pooled low in his belly and then branched outward, down into his thighs, up into his chest, out along his arms until his fingertips tingled as if he'd held them too long in snow and then plunged them into fire.

Body Refining, third stage. It was still trash and still a cliff below Yan Jing's Qi Refining.

But the cliff had stairs now. He could feel his feet on the first of them.

The difference between this method and the scraps Yan Chi had been taught was the difference between a ladder made of brittle sticks and a river. The old techniques had to be forced. Every cycle had been a struggle, qi stuttering and snagging in channels that seemed too narrow, dissipating halfway through the circuit and leaving only exhaustion behind. Now the qi obeyed. It flowed where the diagrams said it should flow. When it reached a place where the meridian had always felt clogged, a knot of old blockage that the physicians had once called a defect of birth, it didn't stop. It pressed.

He felt pressure first, then a slow stretch and a deep, aching fullness, as if something inside him were being widened a hair at a time.

Then release.

The knot gave way with a sensation so sweet that his breath caught. It wasn't pain exactly. It was the feeling of a cramped muscle finally letting go, or the first stretch after a long night curled in a chair. The qi rushed through the opened channel and the heat surged after it, and sweat broke out along his hairline.

Then the next knot yielded under the same patient pressure, stretch and release, and again and again after that, each opening clearer than the last until the map of his meridians lit up from the inside. He began to feel the shape of his own body from the inside: the long channels down his legs, the twin meridians that ran along his arms, the dense knot of the dantian itself, which had always felt small and dull and now felt like a furnace slowly being stoked. Qi that would have taken the old Yan Chi a month of bitter practice to gather seemed to arrive in a handful of breaths.

Sweat beaded at his temples and slid down the line of his jaw. It gathered in the hollow of his throat and trickled down his chest, stinging faintly where it passed over the bruise Yan Jing's fist had left. His inner robe stuck to his back. He didn't notice.

Time dissolved.

He didn't notice the light thinning behind the curtains as the sun sank. He didn't hear the servants' footsteps fade in the corridors outside, or the distant bronze gong that marked the evening meal, or the soft knock of a maid who came to ask whether the young master would eat and went away again when he didn't answer. His world narrowed to breath and pulse and the slow, greedy drinking of power.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, the memories offered him old Yan Chi sitting on this same floor at fifteen, at sixteen, at seventeen, eyes squeezed shut and lips trembling, trying and trying while the qi ran away from him. His father's voice through the door, flat with contempt. Enough. You're wasting incense.

Now the water stayed. Now it filled him.

Yan Fan's soul, the shut-in who had died with porn still playing, almost laughed inside the skull he now called home. This was what a cheat felt like. Not a video. Not a fantasy tab paused at three in the morning. Real heat in real meridians, real power settling into real bone, and a future that might include knocking every one of Yan Jing's teeth down his throat.

His cock lay soft against his thigh, ignored for once, restored and connected and finally alive, but patient. Strength first. Lust later. The Pervert System would reward both, but only strength would keep Yan Jing's fist out of his ribs.

Night fell without asking his permission.

Ding!

The chime cut through the trance like a blade.

Yan Chi's eyes snapped open. The cultivation cycle broke, and the qi he'd been guiding scattered back into his channels with a faint prickling rush, like pins and needles running through his whole body. The room was dark except for the dying lamps. The curtains were black. He had no idea how many hours had passed.

A translucent panel hung in the air in front of him, blue-white and shameless, cutting through the darkness like a sheet of light.

[Mission]

[Sneak into your father's room]

[Reward: 100 Pervert Points]

Yan Chi blinked at it.

He read it again.

One hundred.

Five points for staring at his mother's ass as she walked out of his room. One hundred points for sneaking into his father's room. The gap made no sense, or it made too much sense. The system didn't hand out that kind of reward for an empty peek at a sleeping clan leader. Something was waiting behind that door. Something the Pervert System considered worth twenty times a lingering look.

Something perverted.

He swallowed.

He stood. His legs were stiff and tingling from hours of stillness, and his knees cracked when he straightened them, but beneath the stiffness there was something new. His body felt lighter. His breath went deeper. The bruise on his chest had faded to a faint dull throb, as if the qi had been quietly mending it while he sat. He rolled his shoulders and felt the muscles slide more smoothly than they had that afternoon.

He pressed two fingers to his left wrist. The invisible armband was there, cool and smooth under the skin of illusion. He reached for the space at the edge of his awareness where the system kept its storage and felt the Barrier Entry Talisman waiting inside like a folded secret.

"Easy mission," he muttered. The grin that pulled at his mouth belonged far more to Yan Fan than to the old Yan Chi. "A hundred points for a sneak peek. Let's see what Father's hiding."

He almost laughed at himself. A day ago he had died with his cock in his hand in a rented room. Now he was about to sneak into a clan leader's private chambers for a system that paid him to be a pervert. The absurdity of it was almost comforting. If this was a dream, it was the best one he'd ever had. If it wasn't, then heaven had a sense of humor darker and more generous than any god he'd ever prayed to.

He blew out the last lamp, slid open his door and stepped into the corridor on bare feet.

The Yan residence at night was a different creature from the Yan residence by day.

By day it was bright lacquer and sunlit gardens, servants hurrying with trays and messages, the clatter and murmur of a great household at work. By night it became a maze of shadows. Oil lamps burned in small niches along the corridors at long intervals, each one painting a bar of gold across the dark wood before the next stretch of black. The carved screens along the walls turned into silhouettes: black mountains, red moons, cranes that seemed to shift their wings when he passed. The air was cooler and smelled of sandalwood and cold stone, and beneath it all, very faint, there was a sharp metallic tang that he recognized from Yan Chi's memories as the scent of formations humming beneath the floors. These were protective arrays laid into the foundations of the mansion generations ago, renewed with spirit stones every spring.

Distant voices drifted from the outer courtyards — a guard's laugh, the clink of a cup, the low murmur of a household that never entirely slept — and under them something quieter, a hush that did not belong to ordinary night.

He kept to the quieter halls.

The memories guided him. Left at the screen with the black mountains. Past the alcove where an ancient bronze bell hung that no one ever rang. Along the covered walkway that bordered the inner garden, where the night air came in through the open lattice smelling of damp earth and night-blooming jasmine. He glanced out as he passed. The garden was silver and black under a half moon, the paths pale, the shrubs dark lumps, the little pond a sheet of polished obsidian. It was the same garden where Cao Ning's silver hair had caught the afternoon light, and where he'd lain on the stones tasting blood. A night insect sang somewhere in the shrubs. The half moon hung over the eastern ridge, pale and clean. For a moment he stood still and simply listened to the mansion breathing around him: distant laughter from a guard post, the soft slap of a servant's sandals on stone two courtyards away, the almost inaudible hum of the formations under the floors. He was a stranger in this house and also its young master. Both things were true. Both things made his pulse run faster.

He walked on.

The floorboards here were old and well laid, and they didn't creak, except one, the third board past the walkway's end, which the memories warned him about a heartbeat before his foot came down on it. He stepped over it. His heart was pounding, but his breathing stayed slow. The cultivation had left something in his body, a quiet steadiness, as if his blood had been replaced with something denser and calmer.

His father's wing lay deeper in the compound, behind heavier doors and denser qi.

The corridor narrowed. The lamps grew fewer. The carved screens gave way to plain dark walls, and the walls gave way to a short passage ending in a set of double doors carved with the Yan family crest, a coiled serpent biting a crescent moon. Beside the doors a tall lattice window looked into the chamber beyond, its paper panels glowing faintly gold from the lamplight inside.

Three paces from the threshold, the air changed.

It thickened against his skin like pushing his hand into warm water. A soft, invisible resistance pressed on his face and chest, and his ears suddenly felt stuffed with cotton. Sound died. The faint crackle of the nearest lamp behind him, the distant murmur of the courtyards, even his own breath: all of it became muffled and distant, as if he'd plunged his head underwater. He took a step back and the sounds returned. He took a step forward and they vanished again.

A barrier.

Not a protective one. He'd have felt the sharp sting of a defensive array, like the ones on the clan vault. This was soft and thick and absorbent. It drank noise the way dry earth drank rain.

A sound barrier.

Formations like this were expensive. Clan-leader expensive. They were set up by formation masters and powered with high-grade spirit stones, and they had to be renewed often. Yan Chi's memories offered him a scrap of education from a tutor who had once rattled off the grades of silence arrays: copper-grade for a merchant's private office, silver-grade for a clan elder's discussion hall, gold-grade for things that must never leave a room. The pressure on his skin felt like gold. Nobody bothered to soundproof a bedroom for a good night's sleep. Whatever happened inside was not meant for the servants' ears.

Or a son's.

Ding!

[Sound Barrier Detected]

[Enter without being noticed?]

[Consume: 1 Barrier Entry Talisman]

[Yes / No]

Yan Chi stared at the window.

Security, he told himself. Of course a clan leader would seal his private rooms. Or something else. Something that needed silence as much as walls.

He chose Yes without hesitating for even a breath.

The talisman dissolved from the system's pocket in a flicker of pale light. He felt it leave the drawer in the air the way he'd felt the potion settle into it that afternoon, only in reverse: a cool, paper-thin weight vanishing from the edge of his awareness. The barrier parted around him like water around a diving bird. One moment the pressure was thick on his skin; the next it flowed past him and closed behind his back.

Sound rushed back in a wet, intimate flood.

And the first thing he heard was a woman's moan.

It was raw and beautiful, threaded with pleasure and something that might have been surrender, a long, open-throated sound that rose and broke and rose again. He knew that voice. He had heard it soft with worry over a sick son's bed. He had heard it apologize into his hair while his face was buried between her breasts.

Mother.

Curiosity dragged him to the window like a hook through the ribs. He pressed himself into the shadow of the carved frame, angled his body so the lamplight inside wouldn't catch his face, and looked through a gap where the paper panel had warped away from the wood.

The room held four people, and for one long moment his mind refused to arrange them into anything that made sense.

The chamber beyond the lattice was larger than his own and lit by three tall lamps of bronze and jade, their flames trimmed high so the light came warm and gold and generous, bright enough that nothing in the room could hide in it. Rugs of deep red covered most of the floor. A carved sandalwood screen stood near one wall with a robe thrown carelessly over its top, the crimson silk he had seen his mother wearing that morning, its long side slits hanging open like a pair of mouths. Against the far wall a broad bed of dark silk waited untouched, its covers still folded square. Incense curled from a brass burner shaped like a crouching lion, and even through the gap in the paper he could smell it, musk and amber layered over something rawer underneath, the heavy salt-sweet smell of a woman who had been aroused for a long time.

Everything in the room faced the table in its center.

Yan Mei was bent over it, naked.

She lay with her upper body pressed flat along the heavy slab of dark lacquered wood, her cheek turned to one side, and the sight of her hit him all at once, the way cold water hits a diver. He had felt her body through her robe that morning when she pulled him into her arms, and he had thought he understood it then. He had not understood anything. Without silk she was even more than the memories had promised: a mature, ripe, luxurious woman who had finished growing years ago and then grown comfortable inside every inch of herself, with the full hips and generous thighs of a lady who had never once in her life needed to apologize for taking up space.

Her breasts were trapped beneath her. The same enormous breasts he had buried his face in that morning were crushed under her own weight against the tabletop, flattened into wide pale mounds that bulged out on either side of her ribs, so full that the flesh spilled past the line of her body and quivered every time she breathed. He could see the edge of one areola peeking out from beneath her, broad and rose-pink, and the nipple at its center had been dragged stiff and dark against the lacquer. Each small shift of her hips scraped it across the wood, and each scrape drew a tiny hitching gasp from her throat.

Her arms were wrenched behind her back. Steel cuffs locked her wrists together and a short chain ran from them to an iron pipe bolted along the table's far edge, so that she could neither lift herself nor pull away. The angle forced her shoulders open and bowed her spine into a deep, helpless arch, which in turn pushed her ass high into the air. Her legs had been spread wide and fixed in the same polished steel, one ankle cuffed to each of the table's rear legs, holding her thighs so far apart that the muscles along their insides stood out in long trembling lines.

A strip of black silk had been knotted over her eyes, tied tight at the back of her head. Below it her lips were parted and wet. A thin string of saliva had escaped the corner of her mouth and pooled on the wood beneath her cheek, shining in the lamplight, and when she moaned again her pink tongue showed for an instant between her teeth. Her long black hair had come loose from its pins and spilled across her back and over the edge of the table in a dark river, parted by sweat, strands of it plastered to the damp line of her spine all the way down to the pair of dimples just above her ass.

Her ass had already been punished.

Both heavy cheeks were flushed a deep, mottled red, with the outlines of a man's palm stamped into them again and again, layered over one another until the marks blurred into a single fierce glow. Even from the window he could tell the skin was hot. The flesh looked swollen with it, tender and tight, and it trembled in small aftershocks as if each slap still echoed somewhere inside her. Someone had been working her over well before Yan Chi ever reached that door.

And between those spread, reddened cheeks, nothing was hidden from him.

Her pussy sat plump and flushed between her thighs, the outer lips swollen and parted just enough to show the darker, glistening pink of the folds inside. She was soaked. Her slick had run down onto her inner thighs in two bright tracks and shone along the curls of black hair at her mound, and as he watched, a fresh bead gathered at her entrance, hung there trembling and then slid down toward her clit. Above it, framed by the red of her cheeks, sat the small pink pucker of her asshole, clenched tight and neat, somehow more indecent than everything else simply because she had no way to cover it.

Yan Tian stood behind her, as naked as she was.

Yan Chi had never once seen his father without layers of black and silver brocade. In every memory this body owned, the clan leader was cold winter steel, a straight back at the head of a hall and a pair of eyes like polished knives that made the old Yan Chi stare at his own shoes. Here he was stripped of all of it, and the body underneath was exactly what four stages of the Heavenly Realm would build out of a man. Lean muscle lay corded over his chest and belly. Old scars crossed his ribs and one shoulder like pale strokes of calligraphy. He stood with the easy, unhurried balance of someone who had killed men with his bare hands and expected to do it again.

His cock jutted out from his hips, thick and dark and fully hard, curving slightly upward, the veins along its length standing out like cords. The head was flushed nearly purple and already wet, a clear bead of precum swelling at the slit and catching the lamplight. He was smiling. It was not a smile Yan Chi had ever seen him wear at a dinner table. It was the smile of a man looking at a treasure that belonged to him, and enjoying, even more than the treasure itself, the fact that other men had to stand there and look at it too.
