Hope didn’t know what to do.

She paced back and forth inside her tent, her gaze drifting to the young woman sleeping on the bed every few moments.Full novel: Tribrid of runeterra — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Three days.

Jinx hadn’t woken up in three days.

Her reddened eyes betrayed her condition.

Why hadn’t she been more careful?

Why did she always have to ruin everything?

“You can’t leave me.

You can’t.

I can’t take any more grief, Jinx.

I can’t.

If you dare leave me, I’ll find a way to kill myself, even if I have to create that damned tree myself and drive a stake through my own heart.”

“I don’t appreciate my soulmate threatening to kill herself.”

Hope spun around toward the bed.

The moment she saw Jinx’s eyes half-open, she scrambled onto the bed, wrapped her arms around her, and burst into tears.

Jinx held her close.

Then Hope felt a gentle sensation against her forehead.

Then again on her cheek.

Her tears stopped, and she blushed as she realized it had been Jinx’s lips touching her.

“I never want to hear those words come out of your mouth again.

Do you hear me, Hope?” Jinx said sternly.

Hope nodded.

She let out a soft sigh as she felt Jinx’s fingers gently combing through her hair.

The sensation was wonderful, and Hope felt herself drifting toward sleep when a realization suddenly came back to her.

“You know.”

“Yes.”

“How?” Hope asked anxiously.

Jinx told her about her encounter with Janna, the revelation about her magic, and how the goddess had accidentally let slip that Hope was her soulmate.

“Why do gods always have to interfere in my life?” Hope said with exasperation.

“I felt your magic.”

“What?” Hope asked, confused.

“The first time you looked into my eyes, your magic touched me.

I didn’t know what it was, but I had a feeling something had happened.

After all, you were so captivated by me that you followed me all the way home.”

“Jinx!” Hope exclaimed, completely embarrassed.

“What?

Not ready for us to get matching tattoos yet?” Jinx teased.

“Is wearing matching tattoos a big deal around here?” Hope asked.

“You’re not from Runeterra, are you?”

Hope sighed, and sadness filled her face.

“No.

I’m not from your world.

My full name is Hope Andrea Mikaelson, and I come from a long line of villains.

My family’s story began over a thousand years ago when my grandmother, Esther Mikaelson—who was a real bitch, by the way—decided she would do anything to protect her children.

She was a powerful witch, and she transformed them into monstrous, bloodthirsty creatures.

The first vampires, also known as the Originals, because every vampire descended from their bloodlines.

Their names were Finn, Elijah, Niklaus, Kol, and Rebekah Mikaelson.

My father was Niklaus Mikaelson, known by some as the Great Evil.

He wasn’t just a vampire—he was the result of Esther’s affair with a werewolf.

A hybrid.

His father, Mikael, hated him for it.

Esther sealed away his werewolf side, and for a thousand years he searched for a way to break the curse.

When he finally succeeded, he met my mother, Hayley Marshall, a werewolf descended from a royal bloodline.

Then a ‘miracle’ happened.

Me.

Witch, werewolf, vampire.

I’m all three—a Tribrid.

The only one of my kind.

Unfortunately, after helping destroy a god, I became truly immortal.

I could no longer remain in my world without disrupting its balance.

So I was forced to leave.

That’s how I ended up here.

Alone.

Without my family.”Hope said, unable to keep the bitterness from her voice.

After several long minutes of silence, Hope’s anxiety began to show.

“Say something,” she pleaded.

“Hope, you just told me that your father was over a thousand years old, that your family created an entire species, and that you became immortal after killing a god.

I honestly have no idea what I’m supposed to say.”

“My father was a thousand years old,” Hope whispered.

“Hope?”

“He’s dead.

My mother too.

Both of them died because of me.

The so-called miracle.

And as if that wasn’t enough, I killed my boyfriend because of a prophecy,” Hope said, trembling.

“I don’t deserve a soulmate.

I don’t deserve you.

I’m going to get you killed too, just like everyone else who ever loved me.”

At those words, Jinx tightened her embrace. The source of this chapter is g.com.

“When I was eleven, I killed my father and my two brothers.

Silco had kidnapped my father, Vander.

He was one of the pillars of the Undercity, but his neutrality toward the Enforcers cost him a lot of support in favor of Silco, who never hid his desire for the city’s independence.

When he kidnapped my father, my older sister Vi and my brothers went to rescue him.

I wanted to go with them, but my sister refused.

My brother Mylo thought my presence would bring them bad luck.

I had a talent for ruining all their missions, to the point where he called me a jinx.

I didn’t stay at the bar like I was supposed to.

I took a magical gemstone I had stolen and went after them, convinced that I would save them, that I would prove them wrong.

The explosion caused by the gemstone killed them.

My sister abandoned me.

There was only Silco left a new name : Jinx

So don’t think you’re the only one who has made mistakes.

I don’t deserve a soulmate either, Hope.

I don’t deserve you, but I’m too selfish to let you go.”

Jinx said the last words before kissing Hope.

It wasn’t a timid kiss—it was a conquest.

There was a possessiveness and a passion in it unlike anything Hope had ever felt, and when she felt Jinx’s tongue brush against her lips, she lost her footing and surrendered to the kiss completely.

Hope felt an intense warmth flood through her.

Consumed by desire, her wolf surged to the surface.

She rolled Jinx onto the bed, positioning herself above her.

She pressed kisses along Jinx’s neck, restraining herself from leaving a more permanent mark.

That became even harder when Jinx let out a soft moan.

“You’re so beautiful, sweetheart,” Hope murmured as she gently kissed Jinx’s ears before nibbling on them.

Jinx suddenly grabbed her by the collar and kissed her fiercely.

Her tongue drew Hope’s into a slow, languid dance that neither of them wanted to end.

Their hands wandered over each other, unsure where to settle.

When Jinx’s hand slipped beneath her shirt and brushed against her stomach, Hope trembled.

She hadn’t known a simple touch could burn like that.

And she didn’t want it to stop.

“Jinx!

Jinx!

Where are you?”

The two women broke apart abruptly at the sound of the voice.

“Silco,” Jinx said, frustration evident in her tone.

She looked at Hope with undisguised desire before leaving the tent.

Once she was gone, Hope lay back on the bed, staring up at the tent’s canopy.

She gently touched her lips with a finger.

“This woman is going to consume me, and I’m going to let her.”
