Chapter 20: Not on the Same Channel

Ultimate Master in the City

Finally, Xiao Yufei said helplessly, "Ye Feng, we can be together to deceive my grandfather, but it's fake. You are absolutely not to touch me.

During this time, I'll do my best to talk some sense into Grandpa. Once he comes around, I'll return the Jade Pendant to you, and then you can leave."

Ye Feng nodded helplessly. Faced with a stubborn bastard like Xiao Wenyuan, what choice did he have?

As long as the old man had the Jade Pendant, he had Ye Feng by the throat. Resistance was futile.

Xiao Yufei bit her red lip and continued, "If we're going to do this, we need to agree on three things. First, we both have the freedom to pursue our own happiness and won't interfere with each other. Just as long as Grandpa doesn't find out.

Second, I'll agree to live with you, but you can't take advantage of me.

Third... well, for the third one, I'll add it when I think of it."

Ye Feng looked at Xiao Yufei, a sudden smile on his face. "And what if you take advantage of *me*?" he asked.

"Go to hell!" Xiao Yufei snatched a throw pillow and hurled it at Ye Feng.

Ye Feng roared with laughter and turned to leave.

The moment he stepped outside, Ye Feng's phone rang. It was Cui Biao. "Boss, I've got a lead on that thing you asked about!"

"Spit it out. Who is she?" Ye Feng demanded, his voice thick with an excitement he couldn't hide.

'Finally! I'm finally going to find her!'

Cui Biao quickly explained, "Based on your criteria, I ran a check. Only two people match the description!

One is President Xiao—Xiao Yufei."

"And the other one?" 'He'd already ruled out Xiao Yufei, so the girl of his dreams had to be the other one.'

"Her name is Wang Luyao. She's the general manager of Angel Clothing Group!" Cui Biao said hurriedly.

"Good, got it." Ye Feng hung up, barely containing his excitement. He got in his car, ready to head straight for the Angel Clothing Group.

But just outside the residential complex, Ye Feng got out of his car and walked toward a nearby salon called "Athena Hair Salon"!

'It's my first time meeting the girl of my dreams. I should probably clean up a bit!'

Ye Feng pushed open the salon door and stepped inside. There were no customers, just a lone woman lounging on a sofa, playing on her phone.

The woman looked to be in her twenties, with curly hair and heavy, garish makeup. She sat there chewing gum, one leg crossed over the other and swinging idly, completely unconcerned by how much thigh her short dress was showing.

A pair of flip-flops on her feet slapped rhythmically against her soles. SLAP, SLAP, SLAP.

Looking at this worldly, almost tawdry woman, Ye Feng had a feeling she wasn't a hairstylist. She seemed more like... she was in a 'special' line of work.

Seeing a customer enter, the woman stood up. She pointed to the stylist's chair and said, "Over here, boss!"

Ye Feng walked over and sat down.

The woman closed the door and sidled up to Ye Feng. Instead of getting ready to cut his hair, she leaned in and asked with a sly grin, "So, boss, interested in any... special services?"

Ye Feng gave the woman a look. "No thanks. Just a haircut."

The woman giggled, then suddenly yanked open the collar of her dress. She leaned closer to Ye Feng and purred, "Come on, boss. I've got the goods. Just a quick one, huh...?"

Ye Feng finally understood what kind of establishment this was. He stood up abruptly and turned to leave.

But the woman took a step forward, blocking the doorway. She looked at Ye Feng and let out a cold chuckle.

"Boss, you got an eyeful of me. You really think you can just turn around and walk away?"

She held up two fingers and said in a cold voice, "Two thousand. Don't even think about leaving if you're a single penny short."

Before the words were even out of her mouth, Ye Feng's hand shot up. SMACK! SMACK! Two hard slaps, one from each side, rocked her head. He looked at the stunned woman and asked with a placid smile, "Is that enough, you think?"

The woman flew into a rage. "You piece of shit! How dare you cause trouble in my territory? You must have a death wish!" She then screamed toward the back, "Lao Liu! Lao Qi! We've got a live one!"

The sound of heavy footsteps, THUD THUD THUD, came from outside, and a moment later two men yanked the door open and stormed in.

One was bald, with a blood-red scorpion tattooed on his scalp. The creature's claws were spread and fangs bared, giving him an even more savage look.

The other had a ponytail and a brutish face. One look was enough to tell he wasn't someone to be trifled with.

The man with the ponytail looked at the curly-haired woman. "What's wrong?"

The curly-haired woman jerked her chin toward Ye Feng. "Him. Trying to get a free ride."

The bald man tilted his head back, looking down his nose at Ye Feng. He let out a cold chuckle. "Buddy, if you're looking for trouble, you came to the wrong place. I'd advise you to just pay up."

"And what if I don't?" Ye Feng said calmly, meeting the bald man's gaze.

The bald man nodded. With a flick of his wrist, he produced a dagger. He looked at Ye Feng, his smile widening. "Then I guess we'll just have to teach you a lesson."

"Just the two of you?" Ye Feng laughed as well.

The curly-haired woman leaned against a nearby wall, her arms crossed. She too laughed at Ye Feng.

"Boss, let me educate you. Last month, another 'boss' didn't believe the hype and tried to fight these two. He ended up losing a leg.

Last week, a guy brought his bodyguard—a huge, brawny fellow—to start something. The two of them threw the bodyguard in a dumpster. He's still in the ICU.

So I'd advise you not to mess with them. After all, you can always earn more money. But if you lose a few... parts... you can't just put them back on. Hehehe!"

Ye Feng smiled back. "And what if I feel like trying my luck?"

The bald man sighed. "Sigh. Why is it so hard for people to take good advice? Do you really have to lose a few parts *and* still end up paying what you owe?"

But Ye Feng just leaned against the wall, watching the two men without saying a word.

The man with the ponytail sighed. "There's a certain kind of person in this world who won't cry until they're staring at their own coffin. Fine. Today, we'll show you the coffin."

With that, he gave a slight jerk of his head to the bald man. The bald man nodded back. Then, moving like lightning, both men lunged at Ye Feng. The dagger, like a viper's fang, shot straight for Ye Feng's heart.

It was a lethal move, delivered with ruthless efficiency!
