That afternoon, Luocheng arrived at the training grounds.
Tokai Teio was there.
So was Seiun Sky.
She was officially his trainee now.
If Luocheng remembered correctly, Seiun Sky’s starting stats had been in the nineties.
These numbers obviously didn’t translate linearly into real-world performance.
Symboli Rudolf’s Speed was over 1400—more than ten times Teio’s original value.
That didn’t mean Rudolf literally ran ten times faster.
Otherwise, if Teio ran twenty meters per second, Rudolf would hit two hundred.
At that point she would be less a runner and more a human projectile.
The stats probably followed diminishing returns.
Another difference from the mobile game was that values didn’t rise permanently.
If a horse girl focused exclusively on strength training, her stamina could gradually decline.
Reading too much might improve Wisdom while causing physical stats to slip.
Everything influenced everything else.
Training was a balancing act.
The Trainer’s job was to maximize those values within a limited period of time.
Luocheng had never received formal Trainer education.
He had only absorbed fragments from books.
But in the game world, being able to see predicted stat changes had compensated for his lack of expertise.
Sometimes, his numerical predictions were actually more reliable than another Trainer’s intuition.
Now, however, he couldn’t see the interface.
So he had to rely on memory.
“Warm up first.”
“Yes.”
Teio and Seiun Sky headed onto the track.
Luocheng watched them.
When he signed Seiun Sky earlier, the system had appeared again and confirmed the contract.
That meant he should now possess command authority over her in the game world too.
Oddly enough, that didn’t make him happy.
Instead, the entire world felt even more artificial.
Maybe this place wasn’t reality after all.
Maybe it was simply the original game world with the map restrictions removed and the characters’ emotional systems upgraded.
Had anything truly changed?
Luocheng felt exhausted just thinking about it.
Before, he had survived by focusing on Teio’s training.
If he did nothing, he would have fallen apart completely.
He needed an objective.
People couldn’t live without one.
If he allowed the world to hollow him out entirely, he feared he would eventually become nothing but instinct and desire.
So he had resisted.
His original goal had been simple:
Turn Teio into a stat monster.
Now, he would continue.
After warming up, Teio and Seiun Sky returned.
“Trainer, what next?”
“Follow the plan.”
“Yes.”
As they trained, Teio glanced toward Seiun Sky.
“Don’t you think Trainer has been acting weird lately?”
“How?”
“He keeps muttering things about games that I don’t understand.
And he spaces out all the time.”
“Nothing weird about that.”
Seiun Sky answered lazily.
“Boys his age like games.
And I space out all the time too.
Though I prefer sleeping.”
“Really?”
“Sure.
Maybe he’s just stressed about your debut race.”
“Because of me?!
My debut is making Trainer nervous?”
“Probably.”
“Then what should I do?”
“Help him relax, obviously.”
Seiun Sky smiled.
“Leave it to me.
One good nap with Seichan and Trainer will wake up completely refreshed.”
“No chance!
Stay away from my Trainer!”
“Your Trainer?
He’s mine too.”
Teio immediately became furious.
Why had Luocheng signed someone else when he already had her?
Meanwhile, Seiun Sky wore an infuriatingly soft smile.
“Maybe Trainer likes someone better suited for hugging.”
“Hah?!
As if you’re better than me!”
Teio stormed off.
Seiun Sky watched her go without concern.
Teio couldn’t follow Luocheng twenty-four hours a day.
Seiun Sky, however, was perfectly willing to try.
While they trained, Luocheng sat on the grass reviewing his notes.
He had written down the last stat values he remembered for both girls and compared them against his old training records.
The more a certain training method was repeated, the less effective it became.
Other stats could decline more sharply.
Alternating different exercises could produce synergistic effects.
Mood mattered.
Condition mattered.
Sometimes Teio inexplicably entered a poor state and gained almost nothing from training.
Back in the game world, fixing that had been relatively easy.
Simple attention and encouragement often improved her mood.
Without the UI, however, all of this was harder to judge.
“Two sets of single-leg jumps, then squats…
and after that…”
“Trainer.”
Teio approached from behind.
She had just finished training and was still breathing heavily.
She wrapped her arms around him.
“Done already?”
“I’m resting.”
Teio smiled.
“And I thought I’d help Trainer relax too.”
Seeing Luocheng concentrating over the training plan reassured her.
This expression was familiar.
The Trainer in front of her was still the Trainer she knew.
Her favorite person.
“Just rest here for a while,” Teio murmured.
“Don’t worry so much about my debut.
I’m definitely going to win.”
For the first time in a long while, Luocheng allowed himself to believe her.
