Inside the Trainer’s Office, Luocheng stared at the visibly annoyed Tokai Teio.
“Sleeping during the day, Lazy Trainer.”
A few seconds later, Teio failed to maintain her stern expression and burst out laughing.
“I saw you asleep and couldn’t resist teasing you.
Were you up late adjusting the training plan again?”
Luocheng blinked.
It felt as though an entire lifetime had passed.
He reached down and pinched his thigh hard.
Pain shot through him.
Luocheng jolted.
Still not satisfied, he stood, walked directly up to Tokai Teio, and cupped her face in both hands until they were almost nose to nose.
“Trainer…
what are you doing?” Teio mumbled, her cheeks squished between his palms.
“I’m not dreaming…”
Luocheng stared at her.
“I transmigrated.”
“I actually transmigrated!”
After more than three months—over a hundred days—Luocheng had finally arrived in a real world.
She was alive.
The Tokai Teio standing before him was a living, thinking person!
Overwhelmed with relief, Luocheng hugged her.
Teio’s tail sprang straight up.
Her face immediately turned scarlet.
“T-Trainer!
What are you doing all of a sudden?!”
She hurriedly broke away and fled from the room.
Luocheng stood there dumbfounded.
What was that?
In the other world, Teio never reacted meaningfully no matter what he did.
She had been little more than a doll operating according to routines and instincts.
After nearly a hundred days of living inside that game-like world, Luocheng had almost forgotten how normal human interaction worked.
Now he suddenly had to relearn it.
There was another issue.
Back in the game world, he had maxed out Teio’s Affection.
A heart icon had even appeared.
Did that carry over here?
While Luocheng was still trying to understand the situation, Tokai Teio abruptly returned.
She checked both ends of the corridor outside.
Then she closed the door tightly.
Walking back to Luocheng, she rose onto her toes and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
“Don’t surprise me like that again…
okay, Trainer?”
Her face was bright red.
Luocheng froze for several seconds.
Was this what max Affection looked like in reality?
He could no longer see status windows.
No stat UI.
No obvious game elements at all.
This seemed like genuine reality.
That made Luocheng somewhat uncomfortable.
If that was really the case, then there were several other horse girls whose Affection he had already maxed out.
Chairwoman Yayoi Akikawa.
Secretary Tazuna Hayakawa.
And eight others.
Akikawa and Tazuna had been among the easiest for him to build Affection with simply because they were accessible through his office.
But now Luocheng had no idea how those relationships had been translated into this version of reality.
“Trainer, stop spacing out!”
Tokai Teio tugged his cheek.
“You’ve been acting weird since this morning.
Did you not sleep well last night?”
“…Last night?”
Luocheng suddenly realized something important.
His memories of this version of the world were blank.
If he had arrived in this world three months ago, then what had this world’s “Luocheng” been doing during that time?
“Yesterday was normal training,” Teio said.
“And…”
“And?”
“And you fell asleep with your head on my lap again, you sleepyhead!”
That matched.
At least partially.
Based on Teio’s description, many things Luocheng had done in the game world appeared to have corresponding events here.
But other events were simply missing.
It was as though he had cleared the game, opened the gallery, and discovered that several scenes had mysteriously vanished.
Was that some kind of corrective force within the system?
After spending so long isolated in the game world, Luocheng had developed countless strange habits simply because ordinary social boundaries had ceased to exist there.
Now, suddenly, those habits mattered again.
And yet his instincts still hadn’t caught up.
Looking at Teio’s ears, Luocheng automatically reached up and rubbed them.
Teio’s tail swayed happily.
She made a contented sound deep in her throat.
So Teio’s Affection really did seem maxed out.
Otherwise, what he had just done would probably have earned him a kick.
And that was no joke.
During training, Luocheng had once ordered Teio to push a multi-ton boulder.
She had actually moved it.
If a horse girl seriously punched him, Luocheng suspected he would depart this mortal coil instantly.
“Trainer, you’re really strange today.”
Tokai Teio closed her eyes happily as he rubbed her ears.
“I actually came here because I had something important to tell you, but you keep distracting me.”
“Something important?
What?”
“My debut race, obviously!”
Teio wrapped her arms around Luocheng’s waist.
“At long last, the great Teio is about to make her official debut!
You’d better watch closely, Trainer!”
Debut race…
Luocheng remembered.
The handbook had indeed listed the date.
And the scheduled beginning of Teio’s preparation period—
was today.
